Demons and heroes are made of diligence and a flexible moral compass

A light that engulfed everything and blinded everyone suudenly sparkled.

Lucio who was holding the source of the light, a severed head, blinked

The head's voice came to his ears

"You killed me, human, but it's useless, I'am but a servant and my only mission is to delay your progress, and today i did it."

Normal daylight came back on Lucio's eyes. without hesitation he squeezed his hands.

...

But nothing besides the sound of his gloves clenchin was there.

Lucio looke around. he was on a public park, in an open place with old soldier statues, with chirping birds and people calmly walking by.

"...What is... this?"

Absent mindedly he turned his body, and saw it, a five meter llbroze statue of his own armor, holding the severed head he was supposed to squeeze

"Look! cosplay! but it looks so shabby!" A girl laughed "Theres probaly a convention of history geeks nearby" The indiferent boy answered

The couple went by without anothe glance.

Lucio took a mouthfull of air and soothed his rushing blood. "Damanable hell! What happened?!"He stomped the ground and cursed aloud.

Boom! the ground trembled and cracked

"Quick quick! call the police some vandal is destroying the historical monument!"

"W-What? Vandal? I just used my full strenght! No, wait.. you said historical monument? how many years historical!?" Lucio screamed

"T-This monument T-Two hundred years old." The old lady stuttered.

"W-what?" Lucio couldn't help but ask again but the old woman wasnt looking at him anymore but to his side.

A small buzzing noise echoed ond a small portal appeared. a seven year old blonde girl popped off the portal and fell face first on the ground. She didnt even whined as she jumped up and looked around anxiously.

Then stared at him with fear, "Are you with them?"

Lucio oberved in silence. the girl had tie marks on her wrist and shin, it was just a little but there was blood and some dirt on her teeths.

'She probaly chewed it off...'

Withou answering Lucio just sat cross-legged on the ground with a sigh and patted his leg, "Come, sit on uncles lap, the police are coming."

On th corner of his eyes eyes Lucio saw the man that called the police talking with even more gestures and enthusiasm.

The girl was wary and steped away.

"I have candy." Lucio spoke again, making new passerbys go frantic on their cellphones

"I-I want my mom."

"The police will come for me, they'll also call your mom."

"But the police was the one that kidnapped me." she spoke with a fearfull tone.

Lucio stopped, he just woke up in the future, he didn't want to even begin to deciprhe the how , why, or the consequence of what just happened to him

instead, Lucio just grabbed the girl and jumped away before anyone could speak.

"Wheres your mother?" he asked. She was trembling in fear of him but didnt seem to care about the height and wind. A grand building with a clocktower in the distance, was where she pointed.

'Lets get some answers then.'
