1 Chapter 0 Prologue

I was lying in bed looking out the window until sleep finally took me.

"come on..." murmered an odd voice. "It's only a matter of time!"

I jutter awake almost jumping out of bed with my long dark black hair sprawling all over the place.

Realizing it was only a dream. I went to the kitchen slipping slightly in an old crack in the floor and opened the cupboard door as it slightly falls of the hinge.

"Huff, I'm going to have to head to the store today." I sigh as I close the door while the cupboard falls

all the way off the hinge, I walk out the door closing it behind me.

"Hey, did you hear about the upcoming events today?" I heard someone say as I walked by.

"Yeah, I heard demons are gonna try and storm the north wall!" the other one said, "And it's the witches job to keep them out too!"

"Sucks that guys can't use magic though." Another one whined, 'well since every female is a witch I guess I have to do something.' I thought while kicking a rock. I made it to the golden apple shop just outside of the shopping region.

"Ello, Kaitlyn It's nice to see you!" said the shopkeeper Kyle. "We don't really get much customers this time what is it?"

"I'll need your cheapest thing here," I said while taking out my coin bag.

"Ten silver coins," Kyle replied.

"Five." I replied obviously trying to haggle.

"Eleven..." Kyle replied to what I said.

"Seven?" I replied still trying to lower prices, he gave a look of disapproval. "Eight?"

"Alright you get it for eight silver coins..." Kyle said sounding done with it.

"Thanks!" I said as I pulled eight silver coins out of my bag and ate the taiyaki while running to the Witches School.
