27 Deal

After Gaofeng had explained the essence of the ancient spacial pouch, Ming Xie had a dumbfounded look on his face. If what Gaofeng had said was true, then although this pouch was valuable, it only carried true value to those who were already great cultivators and needed someplace to store their treasures and other miscellaneous items. As for Ming Xie, he couldn't even make use of the pouch due to not having an ounce of qi in his body. Ming Xie generally had a good sense of when he was being told the truth compared to when he was lied to, and he definitely felt the genuine truth coming from Gaofeng. Why would Gaofeng even bother to tell him that the pouch was so great in the first place, when he could have just lied and explained an item far less valuable?

Ming Xie considered for a moment before hesitatingly asking Gaofeng "May I ask, are you a powerful cultivator?" Gaofeng didn't expect such a question, but still gave a quick answer, "I could be considered quite powerful in some ways, and quite lacking in others." Such an answer, although not straightforward, was good enough for Ming Xie. He then asked Gaofeng with anxiety very visible on his face, "Do you think you could save my sick sister? If you are truly able to, I would be willing to give you the pouch in return."

His sister must be quite ill, huh… what a good brother, to not hesitate in the slightest to trade a great treasure to help his sister recover, Gaofeng thought to himself. Outwardly he gave Ming Xie a gentle smile and simply said, "Lead the way." Ming Xie grew joyful at the answer, at least there was a chance. While they walked out of the Observation Hall, Gaofeng actually noticed another great green light in the middle of one of the rows of items. This light was inferior to the pouch, but it was still like a giant pillar compared to the miniscule green lights of some surrounding items. Gaofeng hadn't used his token yet, and thus he went over to the item in question and touched it with his token.

The concealment technique of the item was broken, and a box the approximate size of a head appeared clearly in front of Gaofeng. He didn't have time to explore what kind of item was hiding in the box, or if the box was the treasure, so he simply took the box and carried it with one hand as they continued walking out of the Observation Hall. Gaofeng wrote himself a mental not to return to the Observation Hall and grab anything that had light the size of a fist or larger. Now however, he had to see whether or not Ming Xie's sister could be saved by him.

When they arrived at Ming Xie's house, they found his sister sleeping soundly in her bed. She was a true beauty, not even her sickness could take that away from her. She seemed to be a few years older than Ming Xie, perhaps between 17 and 20 years of age. Long red locks of hair were messily surrounding her peaceful face, and the freckles on her face greatly contrasted her pale white skin.

Her breaths were slow and weak, and droplets of sweat could be spotted slowly traveling down from her crimson brows, along the ridge of her small nose, and then falling one by one down on her chin. Ming Xie quickly found a cloth and gently wiped off her face before turning to Gaofeng, "Can you help her?". Gaofeng didn't answer immediately, and instead sat down on the bed and took one of the young lady's pale arms into his hands. Then he put two fingers on her wrist and felt her pulse. It was weak. Actually, it was too weak for this young lady to even be alive. How was she still breathing?

Gaofeng did not have great medical knowledge when it came to illnesses, but he had still been taught the basics needed to check his own condition and to stay alive, and thus he knew that such a weak pulse shouldn't be able to be maintained, meaning that this young lady was supposed to be dead. However, he had heard from Ming Xie that she had already been in this condition for five years, and that nothing had changed about her condition in all this time.

Since she was still alive after such a long time, Gaofeng didn't think that she would suddenly pass away any time soon. There would be enough time to get a medical expert's opinion, at least. When Gaofeng inspected the sick woman with the Divine Myriad Changes, as he had recently made himself do when considering anything or anyone, he shockingly noticed that she was shrouded in a green light no weaker than her brother's. What an interesting family, Gaofeng thought silently to himself as he continued pondering about the solution to the problems he was currently facing.

Gaofeng turned to Ming Xie after considering for another minute, "I believe there is hope to save her, and I will do my utmost to do so. Her situation is stable for the moment, and she seems to be in no danger of death, so we don't need to hurry. I will have a good local medical expert check on her, and if they cannot do anything then I will personally bring her to my clan for her to get the best medical treatment possible. I guarantee that the medical experts of my Shangsheng clan are superior even to the imperial medical experts of any Empire on this continent. I can guarantee that she will be saved if she is treated by them."

Upon hearing this, Ming Xie was elated, and a generous smile appeared on his face as he began laughing in happiness, "Thank you, Shangsheng Gaofeng. Me and my sister will forever carve this kindness into our hearts." After discussing the details for a little while, the two parted. Gaofeng was very surprised when he left, as Ming Xie had directly handed him the pouch. It seemed that his level of trust towards Gaofeng had reached a very high level, but Gaofeng couldn't tell why.

There seemed to be no reason for Ming Xie to trust Gaofeng to this extent, and Ming Xie didn't seem like a foolish person either. How could a foolish person possibly make enough money to take care of his living expenses and his sister at such a young age if they didn't have something special in them? Gaofeng shook his head after a while, deciding to instead focus on what laid ahead.
