Rose sat up on her bed a let out a breathy sigh. She looked around the room of the house and judged silently at the lack of decoration in her room. A piece of her was still screaming about how she had messed everything up with Angelina when they got into their fight.

Hot tears found their ways down her cheeks as she tried to suppress the inner voices screaming at her.

'You don't deserve to live after what you said to her. All she's ever done is love you and care for you and you repay her by telling her she's nothing? That she's below you? That she's useless?'

The voices were right, as they always were. There was no point in her mind to hide it and try to fight it anymore. The depression was too real and too much had already gnawed at her very soul for her to deny the truth any longer. She was a waste of space. She was useless.

She didn't deserve to be in this world anymore. Tears clouded her vision as she wrote the dreaded note to her family.

'Angelina-

By the time you're reading this, I'm likely long gone. Thank you for everything you've done for me and thank you for loving me when you never had to. Thank you for taking me in when I was alone in the cold.

I will never forget your kindness and gentleness towards me. I'm sorry for calling you weak, and stupid, and a mute freak. I love you dearly with all my heart.

Sincerely,

With all my love to share,

Rose

P.S. Don's forget to turn off the oven and stove once you're done using them. I know it's a bad habit, but I won't be able to fix it before the house burns down.'

Her heart clenched at the memories of Angelina taking care of her and Levi, but none of them could measure and fix wha TX she had just broken apart into little pieces. Her bond that she took so long to build with her mother figure was slowly disintegrating and she could do nothing to stop it from happening. With a tear hitting the paper, she closed the letter into the envelope and addressed it to Angelina.

She pulled out another piece of paper and began to write again.

'Levi-

My brother and best friend, I'm sorry. The voices were right and the pull towards death was too strong. I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to overcome them like you always told me I was capable of doing. You're my best friend and I'm sorry I'm leaving you alone like this. One day you'll find an amazing person who will love you unconditionally and wholly. No one will ever take my place, and they better not or I'll haunt your ass. I swear I will.

Just try to test me on this one.

Sincerely,

You're one (and only) bestest friend in the universe

Rose

P.S. take care of Angelina for me, I know that you will anyways, just like you always have, but I never want you to leave her side.'

Rose closed the envelope to Levi quickly and caused a paper-cut on her tongue as I did. The pain reminded her that she was still alive. Reminded her how weak she was to follow the sounds of these voices.

It was the dead of night so both Angelina and Levi were fast asleep. Rose put their letters in their rooms and was almost out of Angelina's room when Angelina grabbed her wrist and pulled her to the bed, holding Rose to her for a second before turning over. Rose thought she had been caught until she heard her soft snoring, signaling she was dead asleep.

Rose ran off into the night, only looking back once as the house disappeared over the hill. She reached the cliff that was about fourth-five feet above the ocean below her. She looked down into the roaring waves and took a breath. Rose jumped out as far as she could and hit the water soon after, losing her air to the icy feeling off the cold water. Rose started fighting against what she had done, but she changed her mind too late. She stopped fighting as the current began to pull her out to sea. She didn't fight when someone grabbed her and started pulling her out of the water.

"Hey, hey, Rosie girl wake up! You can't die here. It's not your time yet!" She heard a voice yelling above her. It was a boy, and the voice was unfamiliar to the girl laying down in the sand.

Rose slowly blinked her eyes open and looked at the face of a boy sitting really close to her, his face only inches away from hers. His blood-red eyes widened as he jumped back away from the girl, his face turning a bright scarlet color. He then jumped up and stared at the girl, seemingly getting angrier by the second. His black hair was pushed away from his face as he stared at her.

"What we're you thinking trying to kill yourself? Are you crazy?" he asked, looking angry and concerned at the state of the girl laying in front of him. She slowly rose up and stared at him. This boy seemed to know her, but she didn't know him.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Rose asked, staring at the boy. He looked confused before his features softened at the girl.

"I'm sorry, Rosie girl. I didn't introduce myself. My name is Week, and I'm thirteen years old!"

Rose smiles and held her hand out to the boy. He took it quietly and shook it.

"I'm Rose, not Rosie. I'm eleven. Sorry for you having to save me like that, Week."

The boy turned bright red and looked away from her. "It's no problem, really. I saw you jump then start thrashing in the water. I knew I had to help once I did, or else I would have left you alone if you just hit and didn't decide to fight, because that's what you would have wanted."

Rose looked at the boy then, really looked. His red eyes were glassy and he was staring out at the waves. "Why?"

"Because if I could die, I wouldn't want anyone to stop me either. Especially someone I didn't know."
