3 Growth 2

Morning came, Tsuki, as usual, woke up and went outside of his room, to greet his father and have breakfast before going to train, his father had already cooked breakfast, Masayoshi smiled at his son and motioned him to sit, Tsuki nodded and sat down in front of his father.

The two ate in silence until Tsuki's father Anenokoji broke the silence, "So how's your training with the katana going?"

Tsuki was surprised by the sudden question but smiled and responded, "It's going quite well, I feel like I'm getting better everyday."

"Oh? interesting... you mind showing me what you learned by yourself so far? I'm quite curious." Masayoshi asked with a smile

"Of course dad, I'd be happy to show you, also didn't you practice swordsmanship when you were young?"

"Indeed, I did practice some... swordsmanship." Masayoshi paused a bit before he continued speaking, "well let's go outside, I'm curious as to what you can do with that katana of yours."

The father and son got up and went outside of their home.

The father-son duo stood outside, with Tsuki holding his wooden katana with one hand and Masayoshi looking at him from the side, "Show me what you got Tsuki!" Masayoshi encouraged his son, in response, Tsuki smiled and got in position.

"Moon Breathing... First Form: Dark Moon, Evening palace." Tsuki muttered and swung his katana swiftly in a single horizontal motion, his swing created numerous chaotic crescent blades.

Masayoshi immediately lost his smile, and his eyes widened in surprise,

"Moon Breathing... Second form-" Before Tsuki could use it, someone grabbed his hand, stopping him from using it. Tsuki was surprised by the sudden contact, he looked to his right to see his father Masayoshi, who was suddenly right next to him, he didn't get the chance to ask how he managed to cover the distance between them because he was bombarded by questions from his father.

"Tsuki where did you learn this?! who taught you?! Do you even know what you just used?!" Masayoshi asked rather loudly, too loudly in fact.

"I-I-I don't know..." Tsuki muttered, he was startled since his father never once raised his voice while speaking to him.

"On second thought, it doesn't matter who or where you learned it from, what I wish to know is if you even know what you used just now," Masayoshi spoke calmly and then sighed, "I'm sorry for the sudden outburst, I knew that you were learning... this, but to see it myself, it's different."

"H-How did y-you know?"

"By observing, how else? your physique was changing, gaining more muscle. your breathing also changed, now it seems you're taking in more and more oxygen in your lungs when you breathe, and your interest in swordsmanship, I thought a lot about it, and this just confirms it."

"But Dad, no normal person can notice any of those, so how did you?" Tsuki asked curiously.

"Normal person? who said I was a normal person, I don't remember saying that." Masayoshi answered while smirking, expecting his son to catch the hint, but he was met with confusion written all over Tsuki's face.

"I'm a demon slayer Tsuki, I assume you know what a demon slayer is?" Masayoshi asked and Tsuki shook his head indicating that he didn't know what a demon slayer was.

Masayoshi sighed and then spoke, "Demon slayer corps is an organization, they number in hundreds, and has existed since the ancient times, it is completely unrecognized by the government. The members of the demon slayer corps join the organization for the sole purpose of... killing all demons. Demons are carnivorous species, they all possess a murderous instinct to kill and devour humans, eventually, after consuming enough people, they are able to develop something called a blood demon art, an array of supernatural powers and abilities unique to each demon, but one thing all demons have in common is immortality, they are immortal to things that normal humans would die from, the only way to kill a demon is by using sunlight or wisteria poison. now you must be wondering, how do the demon slayers beat them if they are so strong? the answer is... breathing styles and Nichirin blades. breathing styles are swordsmanship styles that are taught within the demon slayer corps, there are 5 main breathing styles which are flame, water, stone, wind, and finally thunder, there are also other deviations from the 5 main breathing styles suited to each person. if one can't learn a specific style, that must mean they are not suited for it and they must look for the one that suits them, or create one for themselves. Nichirin blades are special blades used by and made specifically for the Demon Slayer Corps to slay Demons. They are forged from a unique ore that constantly absorbs sunlight, one of the only major weaknesses of Demons. Therefore the most convenient way of killing a demon is by cutting off the neck bone with a Nichirin Blade, the other way is by the usage of a Wisteria-poison coated weapon."

Masayoshi paused a bit to catch his breath and before he could continue Tsuki asked, "I've never heard anyone talk about demon slayers... I've heard old people talk about demons but not demon slayers... what's the reason for that?"

"Now that's a bit... complicated, some people think of them as mere fairy tales and some believe them to be true, and a minority has encountered one and survived, thus becoming a demon slayer." Masayoshi answered, and saw Tsuki looking at him with admiration.

"Dad, that's amazing! which of the five breathing styles did you use?" Tsuki asked in excitement, Masayoshi was taken aback since he didn't expect this kind of reaction, he smiled and answered, "Neither of them."

"Neither of them?" Tsuki repeated.

"Yes, you heard right, neither of them. I used something else, it's not some fancy swordsmanship so you won't need it."

"No, I want to learn it."

"Why do u wish to learn it?" Masayoshi questioned his son

"I want to become a demon slayer, and I think it will be better for me to learn anything that can help me get stronger."

"You're serious about this aren't you?" Masayoshi sighed and continued, "Tell me a good reason why I should let you become a demon slayer, it's dangerous, VERY dangerous, and it's not something I want you to do."

"Demons eat humans, don't they? even though I just found out, I wish to help others by getting rid of demons so people can rest easy in their homes, without the risk of getting consumed by demons." Tsuki answered his dad with a determined look.

Masayoshi gazed at his son and finally spoke, "If I don't give you permission, you're probably going to become a demon slayer anyway, even though it's something I do not want you to do, I can't stop you, the only thing I CAN do is guide you to become stronger."

After Masayoshi said that, the two went silent neither of them saying a word, the one who broke the silence was Tsuki, "what is that something that you used as a demon slayer? you didn't really explain it."

"Oh, right I almost forgot, what I used as a demon slayer is energy identical to the Sun's rays, which the human body can produce through controlled breathing, having the effect of producing ripples of energy propagating from the bloodstream to the rest of the body and other objects in contact with it, with this you can concentrate that energy into a Nichirin Blade or even your fists, legs and any other part of your body, and you will be able to damage a demon and even slay it, it is recommended to use it with a Nichirin blade since it conducts the energy from the sun, and charging it with the said energy would make its effectiveness rise to the point of not needing to touch a demon to damage and hinder their regeneration. this energy is also capable of making an average person's physical capabilities, MUCH MUCH stronger."

Masayoshi then took a deep breath, and his body seemed like it was glowing, but the said glow was concentrated on his fist more than the other parts of his body, then he threw an ordinary punch, but the speed of this ordinary punch was... astonishing, it was so fast that Tsuki couldn't even follow it with his eyes.

"There is also a downside, the downside is that not many people can learn to use this, only ones who can learn, are the ones with exceptional talent, I met a foreigner in our country when I was on duty, and I helped him against a demon so as a thank you, he offered to teach me about this energy. I was lucky to have talent for using this energy, the energy otherwise known as the "Ripple"."

(Ripple otherwise known as Hamon is from Jojo's Bizzare adventure franchise made by Hirohiko Araki, I recommend it go watch it or read the manga.)
