2 I'm gonna freaking die!

'... I know I wished for a chance for a redo at life...' I stared blankly at the scenery in front of me. The vast snowy land and the clear bright sky blinded my eyes. My body couldn't move due to me being REINCARNATED AS A GODDAMN BABY! On top of that, I'm also on top of a freaking snow-capped mountain.

Yup. Mmhmm. Totally cool.

'But Isn't this too unscientific?!' I screamed internally. The thin air at the top of the mountain constantly strained my lungs as I gasped for my breath.

At this rate, I'm going to die of asphyxiation in no time!

'No! I don't want to die yet!' My eyes started tearing up.

'I want to experience everything that this world has to offer! I can't just die like this! I want to try falling in love! I want to make genuine friends that care about me! I want to be happy!'

With sadness filling my eyes, once again, I lost control of my body... not that I had any control over it anyway since I'm still a baby! But still! I can feel my body slowly stiffening, even with the blanket covering me, the temperature on top of a freaking snow-capped mountain is at least below zero degrees celsius. I can die in less than 50 minutes! Counting that I'm still a baby, probably less than 30 minutes!

"Waahh~ wuuu~" I tried crying out for help, but all that came out were cries that were muffled by the strong wind.

Annoyed with the powerlessness I felt, anger came into my mind, 'Who the hell put me here in the first place huh?! I curse you!'.

As time went on, I felt increasingly stiff, and my eyes lids didn't want to open anymore. I felt what was left of the air in my lungs escaping. And I gradually lost the strength to even cry, as my consciousness began to blur. But I persisted, I knew that once I lose my consciousness, it's going to be all over.

So I concentrated on breathing, greedily sucking at the air. At first, my entire body felt slightly warmer, but the pain my lungs are going through was unimaginable. It's like being bitten by a bullet ant and then lit on fire and then being cooled by an entire tank of liquid nitrogen.

The actual process is like this, I breathe, the incredibly piercing ice-cold air goes in my lungs. I then use all my strength to try and separate the oxygen from the other gases, not like I actually know how to... so I just breathed with all my strength until my lungs were squeezed out and slowly let out my breath. It's like how a stress ball would deflate when a 1000 pound anvil falls on it. And then you slowly lift the anvil away from that stress ball.

I only persisted for about 3 rounds of breathing, which was around a minute and a half. My lungs hurt so much that I forgot about the freezing winds for just a minute. Then once I started to feel cold again, I would do what I like to call, lung expansion.

That's because every time I restart, I would get just a little more proficient in breathing, and I would be able to hold on for just a second longer. So I'm assuming that my lungs are expanding and compressing since I'm able to 'Breathe' for just a little bit longer.

I don't know how long I was just there on the mountain, 'breathing'. But it was kind of like an instinct, 'breathing' was. Recalling something from my memories, I seem to remember something similar in an anime called "Demon Slayer"...

I shrugged it off, 'It's probably just my imagination.'

But the idea that I have reincarnated in an anime world had already planted a seed into my mind. I just couldn't get rid of the excitement.

'What if? What if I really did reincarnate into Demon Slayer? I mean, I already reincarnated, and I even survived up on top of a freaking snow-capped mountain for who knows how long. This world definitely isn't scientific.'

My eyes flashed with excitement at the thought of meeting the characters in demon slayer. The kind yet broken Tanjiro, the annoying yet loyal Zenitsu, the cute but demon sister of Tanjiro, Kamado Nezuko.

I haven't watched many anime in my past life, only some that had caught my interest, among the few I've watched, Demon Slayer is undoubtedly my favorite.

Immersed in my daydream, it soon came to be dusk. The air got even colder as the temperature dropped sharply.

'Hm? ... the sun is going down..' My eyes watched the setting sun with a hint of depression.

'How much colder would it get? How much longer can I stay awake? Even if I can survive the cold, the problem of water and food is going to catch up to me sooner or later.'

Soon, dawn went and the night came. It was so cold that even with my breathing, I still felt the cold icy temperature. With every breath I release, a stream of hot steam will trickle out of my mouth.

'I'm going to die, aren't I? I'm gonna freaking die!' I felt fear for the first time in my life. I didn't want to waste this opportunity. This is the chance I was waiting for, the chance to redo my entire life. That's why I cherished it so much, and now, within 24 hours of me receiving this chance, I had wasted it?

'Unacceptable.' As I looked upon the night sky, I reminisced about my previous life.

'The mind-breaking loneliness, I didn't want to feel that again in my life.' As I continued to think, my breathing changed imperceptibly with each breath I take, changing from forcing my lungs to breathe to a true natural breathing pattern, a breathing pattern that I had felt comfortable with.

'And so...' My breathing continued to speed up my heart rate and the speed at which blood flowed through my veins.

'I've decided. I'm going to do everything to the bitter end, just to survive. Survive this difficulty, this small stone in my path.' I was in incomparably high spirits.

My eyes gleamed with determination, 'So, let's see who will win this game, Death. I've escaped from your hands once, and I'll do it again. You simply cannot stop me from reaching my goal.'
