3 3: The orphanage

"Itsuki come down so we can eat" aunt Li waved to him, she liked itsuki a lot more, itsuki would always help around the orphanage which would save aunt Li the burden of wasting money, although she felt the kid was getting sicker and sicker by the day, he looked abnormally healthy today, which was a good thing.

Around the huge table, 10-15 kids sat there chaotically, some were crying, some were quiet, some were talking, it was like a daycare.

Itsuki found a seat next to auntie Li.

"I see you are feeling better?" Auntie Li asked as everyone began to eat, it took her a while to calm the kids down.

"Yea I feel better, maybe I was just not feeling good" itsuki smiled, he felt warm whenever he looked at this old lady, if it wasn't for her, the old itsuki would be dead years ago.

"Hehe, that's good, can you please go chop some wood for me after this? It's winter, and we will need to stock up" auntie Li said helplessly, as an old lady she couldn't do it herself.

"Of course, don't worry I can do it" itsuki smiled, he was more than happy, according to the system, since he entered this world with a blessing, as long as he trained his body, he could definitely raise his level.

Itsuki continues to eat as he thought about his future, he wouldn't waste anytime.

He was currently too broke to buy a katana to protect himself, but he definitely needed to start some sword training before his Ice breathing awakened.

After helping auntie Li clean up the table and settle the kids, itsuki grabbed a huge metal axe from the back, after wearing a black coat he stepped out.

It wasn't really that cold, or atleast it didn't affect him at all for some reason, itsuki only wore this coat because of auntie Li's worries.

The town was very bustling during the day, the branches of the trees dropped down due to the heavy snow, creating a beautiful scene.

Itsuki wasn't the only one, he had even seen some people coming back to town with a wagon full of firewood.

Itsuki pushed his wagon slowly out of the town, greeting people along the way.

It wasn't long before he left the town and saw a path leading to the forest, many of the trees were already being cut down, itsuki went deeper and looked for smaller trees.

Afterall it would be a tragedy if he died again from a tree falling on him.

"This will do" he stood before a small tree, way bigger than himself but smaller compared to the others.

Itsuki usually cut the branches of the tree and then used to axe to remove all the leaves or do it manually with his hands.

After 2-3 hours itsuki had finished filling his wagon with wood.

"That was faster than before" he smiled

He released a cold breath of air as he controlled his breathing, he was correct, he had indeed leveled up while doing this, or else he would be even more tired.

He knew it wouldn't be this easy to level up later, but atleast he knew he could slowly get stronger.

Itsuki placed the wagon next to a tree, usually it took him 5 hours to finish cutting wood which he would then go back to the orphanage and chop it in half in the backyard.

Itsuki decided to use this time to do some productive things.

Using his axe, itsuki managed to slice up a wooden katana, although it was very raggedy, it was better than nothing.

He then used a napkin he brought back from the orphanage to make a sword handle, which he then tied up tightly with a rope, this would make the sword easier to hold.

"Phew, this doesn't look so bad" itsuki said excitedly before removing his coat and using it to cover the wagon which was full of wood.

Itsuki raised the sword, he was honestly a newbie when it came to something like this, but as someone who has read plenty of immortal cultivation novels, he managed to come up with a training routine.

Although his sword techniques would be sloppy at first, it would definetly get better later.
