22: New Mission

After a well rested night, itsuki healed all his injuries, he felt good.

But he felt strange, the moment he woke up the group of 4 were all staring at him with strange expressions.

Tanjiro was the first to speak out.

"Itsuki, a blue mark appeared between your eyebrows, slightly upwards" he pointed, shocking itsuki even more as he rushed to the bathroom.

Looking inside a simple mirror he became shocked, indeed there was a crystal blue mark between his eyebrows.

A slayer mark??

Itsuki didn't know what it was, but this was perhaps his only guess, but why would it appear only now?

Itsuki left the wisteria crest building early in the morning, the loud crow had already landed on his shoulders and began giving him a pep talk.

"Cawww... slayer itsuki you have to heal....heal caww"

"Go back to headquarters and tell them I've healed, I'll just travel around for now and kill any demons I come across" itsuki said helplessly, they probably thought he was close to death since he had fought an upper moon.

Along the way itsuki hadn't ran into any demons at all, after all it was morning, which demon would be tired of living and come out to die this early.

Looking at the signs on the dirt road, itsuki walked towards akiyama town, it wasn't too far away.

The moment he reached, he noticed many supply caravans moving in, they were probably cleaning the aftermath of what had happened.

Itsuki tightly wore his black haori and squeezed into the crowd, hoping he wouldn't get recognized, he then slipped his way into a small empty restaurant.

"Hello sir, what would you like today" a young teenage girl walked up from the counter and took itsuki's order, inside the kitchen were two grown adults, possibly her parents.

"Give me some regular fruit juice, and some breakfast, don't worry about the amount, also give me a lot" itsuki said as he ordered, ever since eating the food at the wisteria crest house, he decided to enjoy life more.

He had been too focused on killing demons to become stronger, he completely forgot this was now a real world, with culture and many things to enjoy.

Itsuki paid the amount before eating happily, the restaurant was still empty, if it was back on modern earth the time was possibly around 6-7 am in the morning.

The owners of the restaurant were originally surprised, not many people would order food at this time, afterall most people usually ate at home and went to restaurants within the afternoon or evening.

Finishing his food, itsuki began to tour akiyama town, his ice domain was spread to the max, he hadn't encountered any demons.

Shinobu had really done her part in making sure none were left.

Just like this nearly a whole day went by as itsuki relaxed, he was mostly trying out different foods from different stalls, buying random things he wouldn't even need or sitting on some random family's roof to watch the scenery.

It was now nearly night time, the sun slowly began to set, giving the clouds a divine glow.

"Caww...cawww"

A black crow appeared in the distance, it circled around in the air before landing on itsuki's shoulders.

"What happened" itsuki rubbed it's head before asking, this bird was already back from the headquarters.

"Caww....slayer itsuki, since you are free, follow me towards ....cawww...a spooky mountain... we need to support our fellow slayers" the bird said as it flew off, itsuki slowly tailed behind it, leaping from building to building.

"Demon slayers really have it rough, I'm only one person, but here I am not even able to rest for a single day" itsuki sighed.

Itsuki didn't know how hard ranking was in the slayer corps, he could check through the wisteria flower engraving from the final selection to check his own rank, but it wasn't updated at all, he probably had to wait a bit.

This was because, only now did he realize he needed to be atleast a kinoe and slay one of the moons before becoming a hashira.

The second requirement was as easy as 1 2 3's to itsuki, but the first part gave him a headache.

"Guess I'll need to go on a killing spree after this mission" he though as he skillfully left the area of akiyama town.
