A man who is brought into a world he never imagined was real.
France, a wonderful world for the best mysteries...
October,
The cool, crisp wind blows a small leaf onto Jacks hat as if it found his brown hat cozy only to be brushed off with a pale hand.
"Chilly day, is it not sir?" an older man gripping his dark coat, his silver hair seemed to have a mind of its own as it whipped around his face.
"Yes, indeed it is," Jack replied his short brown hair tucked behind a cold ear.
The older man grinning as he held out a hand his bronze skin warm as Jack greeted the man's hand with his own.
"The name is Bartalbe, yours?" the man asked as he pulled his hand back into a coat pocket.
"Jack is the name sir." Jack's hand tipping his hat to the man, as he started to walk away, Bartalbe giving Jack a small old book and rushing away.
Confused Jack accepted the old book as he watched the old man disappear into the fog, as Jack walked home he felt like he could feel every stone that went under his shoes as he got closer to his home.
Stopping in front of his brick house he passed through the metal gate as if it did really have a chance to guard his modern home. walking inside the warm scent of maple floated around as he walked over to the dining room prepping for a gourmet meal of his own, a pot boiled with hot water as he added his ingredients as he took the old book out from his jacket.
Skimming the book he shrugged as he placed it on the pine table as he continued to cook, placing his meal he dashed a bit of pepper on it as he took a bite of the perfect meal.
After the meal he washed the dishes as he went back over to the book out of boredom, seeing a picture of what looked like a rune he got a piece of paper and pencil and drew a rune thinking it looks nice enough to hang up on the wall.
Clummsly getting a paper cut Jack leaned over to grab a napkin in the middle of the table dribbling a few drops of blood as he dabbed his finger and whipped up the mess, sighing at the mess of his drawing he tossed it in the trash as he shut off the lights and headed upstair for the night.
