Eruption

After the final drops of mercury were poured into the intricate magic formation, Xeron emerged at the rim of the crater. His presence was imposing as he stood there, his hands starting to radiate with an eerie glow. He mumbled an incantation softly, and the magic formation responded by shimmering to life.

Suddenly, Xeron brought his demonic hoof down with a thunderous stomp. The earth trembled, and the entire volcano seemed to convulse. The quaking was akin to a formidable earthquake, sending many of the demons sprawling to the ground.

This magic formation Xeron had them complete was, in reality, an amplification array. Harnessing its power, he cast the Earthquake spell, channeling magic deep into the heart of the volcano.

"Retreat!" Xeron ordered, and the demons gathered on the volcano scrambled for safety. Living in a world of volcanoes and magma didn't mean they weren't fearful of volcanic eruptions. On the contrary, they knew all too well the devastating might of such eruptions.

Xeron had summoned around two hundred demons for this task. Shortly after they made their desperate escape, the volcano, influenced by the seismic activity, reached its critical point, and a deafening roar preceded a cataclysmic eruption.

Thick black smoke laden with volcanic ash billowed into the sky from the crater. Due to the sheer force of the volcanic explosion, numerous large and small incandescent rocks were ejected from the volcano, resembling fairies casting fiery flowers in all directions. It was a sight both beautiful and terrifying. The eruption sent streams of scorching lava cascading down the volcano, igniting every tree and shrub in its path. Some small creatures that couldn't flee in time met a fiery demise in the molten flow.

The volcanic eruption raged for two hours before finally abating. However, the five-kilometer radius around the volcano was transformed into scorched earth, devoid of any vegetation. Some of the lava had cooled, creating a black, solid ground, while others remained red-hot and emitted a fiery glow and smoke.

Xeron gazed upon his handiwork with immense pride, and his laughter echoed wildly. He was exceptionally content with the scorched landscape, believing it was now suitable for building a city.

The purpose of triggering the volcanic eruption was to create an environment conducive to demon habitation. Lush greenery and serene waters didn't quite align with the demonic aesthetic. Demons had a penchant for environments suffused with a sulfuric atmosphere.

Under Xeron's stern guidance, the group of over two hundred low-level demons, including Alexander, got to work. They searched for sizable rocks and leveled the ground while the lava was still pliable, laying the foundation for the city. Once the groundwork was done, they commenced construction.

This time, Alexander assumed the role of supervisor rather than a laborer. He, along with his loyal companion Leo, oversaw the low-level demons as they followed the city blueprint and Xeron's commands to build according to the plan.

The demons at Alexander's disposal were far from skilled construction workers, making his supervisory role quite challenging. He couldn't afford to take his eyes off their work for a moment, as they might end up haphazardly stacking the walls like a disorganized pile of instant noodles.

Furthermore, the demons were lacking in proper construction equipment. Their creations were composed of little more than stone and wood, rendering the structures unreliable and susceptible to collapse. However, the demons were resourceful. Being in close proximity to a volcano, they dispatched some of their kind to obtain lava, allowing it to cool before pouring it onto the structures. This unconventional method helped fill gaps and reinforce the walls.

As the city slowly began to take shape, Xeron introduced new blueprints, instructing the demons to commence construction on their own living quarters.

In simpler terms, these were essentially their nests. Each type of demon had their preferred nest styles, and once the constructions were complete, the demons spontaneously organized themselves and moved into their designated abodes.

Xeron continued to engrave summoning formations within and around these nests, ensuring a continuous influx of similar demon types into this world.

For instance, within the demon kennels designed to house hellhounds, Xeron exclusively summoned more hellhounds when he was in their vicinity. With each new summoning, he would enter into contracts with these hellhounds, allowing them to settle into their designated demon kennels.
