22 A Demon's Kiss

Xuan came out of the restaurant and stood beside Mingmei. She didn't talk to him and kept on walking. Xuan followed her and kept on walking behind her. "That human made her sad…..I will tell Fei Ming Si to gather information about him and then I'll make sure to throw him out of that job of which he's so proud of," thought Xuan in his mind.

They reached near a park. Xuan grabbed Mingmei's hand and took her with him towards the park. They sat on a bench there. None of them utter any word when Xuan thought to break the ice but before he could say Mingmei said, "I always was being neglected by everyone. My family wanted me to die when I was born but I survived every accident. I had no friends, no one on whom I could rely upon. People used to stay away from me because when I was born my elder brother and grandparents died in a car accident.

As I grew up I heard people calling me a jinx because an old woman told them that whomever I will be close to, he will die and it was confirmed when I was given that pendant. I always refused the fact that I'm a demon bride with a bad fate until my parents died in a car accident five years ago. They were coming to my graduation ceremony. It was the first time my parents were happy for me but my bad fate took their lives. That's why I left my house thinking that no more lives can be taken away because of me.

I lost my faith in love but then I found Wao Xiu. I thought he doesn't look at me like the other people but then his feelings were never real for me."

Saying this Mingmei broke into tears. She put her hands on her eyes trying to hide her tears from her. "It's not my fault that I took birth as a demon bride. It's not my fault that I carry a bad fate with me. I left everyone, my family behind thinking they shouldn't die because of me but this fate isn't leaving me. I never got close to anyone thinking they will die because of me. I was happy somewhere when Wao Xiu left me because I don't know what my bad fate will do to him," said Mingmei while sobbing and wiping her tears from her face.

Xuan felt bad hearing all this. He turned Mingmei's face with his hand towards him and with the other he wiped off her tears.

"You're not a jinx and you don't carry a bad fate. You've a beautiful heart and a pure soul Mingmei which no one has in this cruel human world. You're my bride, a demon's bride, the bride of the invincible young master. I don't know the future but I'm sure about this that my bride is unique like me. You've helped me the very first day so I'll also perform my duty towards you," said Xuan and leaned close to Mingmei and kissed her. A loud thunder was heard in the sky and rain started pouring. Xuan's eyes turned Purple and his true form appeared, a demon's form.

Seeing this Mingmei pushed him lightly. Xuan looked into her eyes and said, "I gave you my precious kiss. No one will ever hurt you because you are my bride."

The rain was pouring down but because of Xuan's powers a shield was created around them, making them invisible from others outside the shield.

"You're changed to a demon….You should change yourself. What if someone found that you're a demon. Your mission will fail," said Mingmei with a worried look.

"Calm down….no one can see us," said Xuan and then touched at his pendant. He changed back to his normal self. The shield disappeared and the rain started falling on them. Mingmei looked into Xuan's eyes which turned normal. "You shouldn't have to do that. What if something bad will happen to you?," asked Mingmei.

"What can happen to me?," asked Xuan and laughed. "Let's go before we both are drenched in rain," said Xuan and got up from the bench. He took Mingmei's hand in his and they both ran as fast as they could from there. They both reached near the bus stop. Xuan looked at Mingmei and then put off his jacket and gave it to Mingmei.

"It's fine," said Mingmei. Xuan then put the jacket over her shoulders and said, "I bought it from your money so keep it."

"What?," mumbled Mingmei and pulled off the jacket and looked at the jacket.

"It's so expensive. You should've asked me to buy some clothes for you," said Mingmei looking at the jacket's brand name and price.

"Don't cry and put it on," said Xuan and looked at his right and left for the bus. He saw a bus coming there so he stepped ahead. The door fell open and they went inside.

After an hour they reached home. Xuan ran to his room to take the clothes and then quickly went inside the washroom. After taking shower and changing his clothes he came out and sat on the sofa placed in the living room.

He watched TV till Mishi came out of the washroom. "I'm going to sleep. Good night," said Mingmei. Xuan switched off the tv and went to the basement to his room.

Xuan laid down on his bed, looking at the ceiling. "This human girl has to suffer a lot. I've now dual purposes to serve: to find that masked man and protect this human girl," murmured Xuan.

Mingmei in her room was working on her laptop. She recalled the incident of a few hours ago with Xuan. She then touched her lips.

"Why did he kiss me? What if something bad will happen to him? Yang and Feng told me that a demon's kiss is a special kiss and if he will give it to a human then bad things can happen.

Ming Si told me not to fall for him in any case but the things he is doing for me are making me fall for him. What should I do?," murmured Mingmei.

Fei Ming Si appeared there and smiled looking at her. "Xuan is downstairs…," said Mingmei.

"I'm here to meet you," said Ming Si.

"Me??," mumbled Mingmei pointing at herself. "He will smell your scent," said Mingmei.

"He can't…," said Ming Si and sat on the chair there.

"Why did you let him kiss you?," asked Ming Si and looked at her with anger.

"It was sudden….I didn't know that he would do that," said Mingmei and closed her laptop.

"Who told you to tell him your life story? I told you clearly that he's soft at heart. Indeed he has fought many battles and killed numerous demons there but when someone shows him care, his heart softens. You're a human and despite my warning you let him kiss you. If anything will happen from now on then be ready to sacrifice yourself first," said Ming Si with an angry look.

"What will happen if I don't want to stop and go according to my destiny," said Mingmei.

"One of you will die and at any cost I don't want that to be Xuan Hao. If he will fall for you, you better be ready to die by my hands because for me his life is more important than a mere human's life," said Ming Si.

Mingmei looked at him with a worried face and said, "I will never let that happen. I also love my life so I will be careful from now on."

"You better understand this," said Ming Si and disappeared from there. Mingmei laid her head back.

"I have seen the young master here on this earth but I wasn't able to see his face…," said a demon to the masked demon Jiong Yaixing.

Jiong got up from his cushioned chair and said, "if he's here then we should proceed our work as quickly as possible. We've the immortal drink and now we only need the demon bride's blood. Do anything to bring her here."

"But master, last time you saw that young master appeared there. What if he appeared again there?," asked demon Cian.

"We need a plan. Gather our force demons here," said Jiong. "If Young master is willing to protect his bride that much then we have to make a trap for him and his bride. Killing two birds with one stone will be fun. You should leave now," ordered Jiong Yaixing.

"Yes master," said Cian and disappeared from there.

Jiong sat on the chair and said, "young master you saved that girl. Now I have to find you so that I can know what powers you possess and then I'll plan accordingly. I'm getting a feeling that you love that human girl and if that's the case then it will be easier for me to kill you both at the same time. " He started laughing loudly thinking this.
