6 KILL!

The second shot hit just below the first, striking the left jaw, shattering the joint and completely unhinging it.

'Damn! I missed!' I thought to myself, as the beast became even more frantic. If I'd hit the same spot twice, I could've blown apart the brain. Even demons and their beasts couldn't endure that. At least not before a certain level.

I was already dashing towards Emilie and Craig. The two idiots had managed a clumsy roll out of the claws trajectory, they were after all still trained demon hunters, and were now laying sprawled out on the ground, struggling to get up.

Emilie was injured after all, and Craig was being an idiot and actually risking his life supporting her. Luckily for them, the beast had gone completely mad and was blinded by pain. In other words, it wasn't pursuing them, otherwise, I might've needed to use one of my trump cards.

I arrived in front of the two idiots within a second, grabbed them angrily and hurriedly threw them away towards Roger, controlling my strength so that they would sustain any major injuries.

Yelling at them now would just waste time and energy.

However... I could've been gentler.

A pair of pained grunts brought a ray of sunshine too a stormy day.

Sadly the joy was short lived as manic laughter appeared behind me as I turned.

A coal black, spiky, Freddy Krueger looking demon, sat on the back of the, now calm, demonic beast with a mocking smile. The hole in it's chest, oozing black blood, was quickly diminishing. The injuries on the beast, also began to heal under the aid of the Shepard demons magic. My easy kill was gone.

I furrowed my brows, 'annoying...' I felt a hint of irritation, after all, although those two demons weren't qualified as a threat, they were rather annoying to fight.

Even without me, the team could probably handle it themselves. The problem was, what sacrifices would they have to make? Mutilation? Permanent injuries? Or even death?

My current crisis was time. Who knew when the demon guard could appear? Even I wasn't confident in protecting everyone in such a situation.

Quickly killing a lesser demon wasn't a problem. The demonic beast was slightly more troublesome. Especially since it was now getting healed.

I took out another piece of hyper-morphic gear. This time it became an elegant black sabre, it quickly replaced the shotgun in my right hand. The black Longsword still sat in the wing, this was good as it meant it couldn't fly.

I began to circle the duo. I frowned as a vague plan formed in my head.

Suddenly standing still, I pointed my sabre towards the beast and slashed a cross over the demon. Then I just had to hope that Charles got the message.

I sprinted forward, quickly closing in, and aimed the gun in my left hand at the beast. The demonic beast that had been ready to take me head on, stepped back in fright, keeping it's wary eyes on the gun.

The Shepard demon immediately noticed it's fear and got angry, kicking and hitting it, trying to get it to attack me.

A roar resounded, and a pair of large claws swept at me. I dodged by rolling over them, but as I landed steadily, a huge maw, full of rotting fangs came closing down on me. I grimaced at the intense smell of rot and decay, taking a quick roll forward, ending up at the beasts left side. I fluently put away the gun and grabbed the longsword lodged in the wing, I then swung myself up onto it's back.

I was now face to face with the true target. I hadn't lashed out at the beast this time, it's scales would only break my sabre. I hadn't fired my gun into its mouth, because who knew when I'd next be able to get so close to the Shepard demon.

I'm an expert marksman, but a master at swordsmanship.

I stood, skilfully balancing on the beasts broad back, as I slashed horizontally right after landing, the demon leant backwards, away from the slash, only getting cut across the chest. However, the cut was deep and it immediately began pouring out black blood.

The demon, now fearful with a twisted expression, spread it's wings to flee. I rushed over, tackling it's waist, and we both flew off of the demonic beast in a beautiful arch.

A loud bang was heard at almost the same moment.

As we were falling, ignoring the jagged spikes covering its body, I stabbed the sabre into its wing before landing with a crash.

Despite being entangled with the spiky demon, I sat up on its waist, with only a faint scratch on my face. This due to my clothes, despite appearing like an ordinary black leather long coat, black leather jeans and gloves, they were in fact similar to the hyper-morphic weapons, being made out I similar materials. Demon hide, bone and spikes.

I smiled gruesomely at the demon below me, I stabbed the sabre through its shoulder, pinning it to the ground. I then took out a long dagger, and slowly began cutting of its head, it squealed at first, struggling desperately to get away. I just grinned as the black blood splattered over me.

It died painfully, horribly and miserably.

As I finished, got up, turned around and faced the demonic beast.

It was lying dead on the ground.

There was barely anything, reminiscent of a head. Crushed bone melded with leftover brain matter and black blood.

I was slightly disappointed that I didn't get to fight it. I turned to look at the building where Charles was stationed. It was impressive, to be able to one shot a demonic beast. The gun he used was specifically made for sniping, however, such a shot, no matter the guns build, would have a harsh recoil.

Who knew what kind of state Charles was currently in?

'What a bother... a mission that could've been so easy, ruined.' I shook my head disappointedly. There had been the surprise of the demonic beast and "someone" had ruined the plan.

An inhumane screech sounded somewhere, not too far away...

I shuddered involuntarily, 'shit!' my lips curled into a snarl. The demon guard had come.
