Quest Complete

Once the show was over and Ur was done with Lyon's punishment, Alex informed the group that he and Gray still had a job to complete.

He informed the group that followed Lyon here, that Deliora was dead for good and that they should head back to the main land to continue their lives. Galuna island was not big enough to support them all permanently and they would also fit in better with regular humans instead of Demons.

After he got the people who had been assisting Lyon, back to their boats and leaving the island, he asked Ur and Ultear what they had planned to do.

He did not invite them to Fairy Tail even though he knew Gray would love to be near Ur, they needed to make their own choices.

Ur said she would accompany Gray and Lyon back to Magnolia while she decided her next move, she had been sleeping for 10 years and didn't exactly have a life to return too.

Ultear informed them all that she had some things to take care of within the Magic Council and would meet back up with her mother when time permitted it, Alex gave her a side long look and wondered how she would actually proceed forward.

He knew Ultear had her hands in many ongoing nefarious plots and even had the power to derail a few of them completely.

He was actually looking forward to what she would do, it was the biggest reason he didn't call her out at any time during this trip.

Alex told the remaining members of Lyon's party (his lackeys) to set up a camp for them all while he and Gray went to finish their assignment. Gray and Alex then headed towards the center of the island.

When they were far enough away from the others, Gray started questioning Alex. "Hey man, what did you do to me after I hit Deliora? My entire body feels strange and my senses have gotten crazy" He said in confusion.

"I used the remains of Deliora's power to finish your transformation into a Demon slayer, like me" Alex replied nonchalantly.

Gray was dumbfounded, "Wait! You're saying you turned me into a Slayer Wizard!? Can I eat my own Element now to replenish my power!?" Gray asked in excitement before pausing. "What did you mean by "Finishing" my transformation?" he asked after realizing what Alex actually said.

"Your immense hatred for Demons was already forcing you down a path that would have led you to being a Demon slayer, it had already started but would have been an incredibly slow and long process. I just sped it up" Alex replied matter of fact. "And yes you can eat your element now, You're officially an 'Ice Demon Slayer' " Alex said with a smile.

Gray had many different emotions flash across his face, he kept cycling through his emotions until they came up to the gate of the small village where his face settled into confusion.

"Hey, what the hell is going on here and what is this odd tingly like feeling?" Gray asked Alex in confusion, he was not used to his new senses and didn't know what they were trying to tell him.

"That is the feeling your magic will have when you are near a Demon, this place is actually the home of an entire clan of Natural Demons" Alex replied as he gestured to the village.

Gray was a little stunned before he quickly asked about the curse of the island. "The magic residue from the Moon-drip spell your pal was performing has encased the entire island, that is why the moon looks purple here. My theory is that the residual magic has negative effects on demons, if you actually focus your sense of smell you will notice the whole area smells 'odd' that is the residual energies trying to enter your body" Alex said as if a sage, lecturing his pupil.

Once they made it inside the village, Alex had the old chief gather everyone in the village square. He then went and told them of everything they had discovered including the giant 'dome' effectively covering the island. As usual the chief kept shouting about destroying the moon, Alex just rolled his eyes and turned to Gray.

"Channel all the magic you can hold into your stomach and then release it through your mouth. That is how you perform a magical roar, though the spell is called 'Rage" not 'Roar', aim it straight at the sky and for dramatic effect, the moon itself" Alex said to Gray, he wanted to use this as a test to see how much power Gray had.

When Gray started focusing on his magic he realized it was much easier to control than he thought it would be, he was also able to channel magic far faster and more efficient than usual, allowing him to gather almost all the magic in his body to his stomach. "Ice Demons Rage!" Gray roared to the sky.

The effect his magic had from using all the power in his body was spectacular. It wasn't as strong as Alex's own Rage spell, but it could easily outclass anything Natsu could do.

Everyone in the village stared at the spell as it clashed with the 'Moon', it only took a second before cracks started to form in the sky and the dome shattered.

"Not bad kid, though you're gonna regret using all you magic in a single spell. You should really pace yourself better" Alex said to Gray as he was watching the sky.

"What're you talking about? I feel just fi.." Gray said before he fainted from Mana fatigue.

Laughing to himself and remembering all the times he himself passed out from mana fatigue, Alex left Gray where he fell and headed back to the villagers.

He could tell the foul magic in the air was dissipating and he wanted to talk with them now that they had their real memories back.

The villagers were all very thankful and started flying around after they accepted that they truly were actual demons.

The chief's son Bobo, who was actually the boatman that brought Alex and Gray to the Island, showed up stunning all the Demons, they had thought they killed him.

When asked about it, he simply laughed and said you need to try pretty hard to kill a demon.

After waking Gray up and having a party with the Demons Alex collected the reward money as well as the celestial spirit Key, he would give it to Gramps and let him decide what to do with it.

Alex and Gray left the demon village shortly after saying their farewells, the demons wanted them to stay the night but they politely declined.

It didn't take the two of them long to make it to the camp where Ur and the others were, they exchanged casual conversation before everyone headed to sleep with Alex and Ultear on first watch.

They didn't trust each other and didn't really try to hide that fact, but it was slowly getting better.

Alex was now at least convinced that she wouldn't try attacking him for no reason.

"Why are you so hostile towards me?" Ultear asked quietly after a couple hours of silence.

"Because I know more about you and your past than I care too" Alex replied casually.

"You know I was manipulated to think I was abandoned as a child, but what does that have to do with this current hostility?" Ultear asked after a moment of panic, when her past was brought up, to try and bait what he actually knew of her past.

Alex saw right through the attempt and gave her a quizzical look "I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about after you were given to that Monster, Prect. I believe he calls himself 'Hades' after the god of death. Stupid bastard" Alex said, while muttering the last part.

Now Ultear was scared, Alex had just admitted to knowing almost literally everything about her and if he knew she was a member of Grimoire Heart, he would also know about everything she has done for that guild.

"H-H-..how?" was all she managed to squeak out as tears started to form in her eyes.

Alex let out a long drawn out sigh and looked at the girl, he looked at her seriously for the first time and saw her truly for what she was, just a girl.

She had been manipulated her entire life to believe her mother abandoned her, and she never even got to know why.

She spent the last 10 years learning Arc of Time magic with the belief that if she could resurrect Zeref, he would help her get into the 'Ultimate Magic World' and she could use her magic to travel back in time and finally ask her Mother, why?

"I know a great many things, like the fact that Zeref isn't even dead or 'sealed' as you guys seem to think he is, I also know that your masters end game wish the 'Ultimate Magic World' doesn't even exist and he is just a senile old fool. I know you and your guild basically killed thousands of people for what amounts to absolutely nothing and I also know you are controlling Siegrain, or should I say Jellal?" Alex replied calmly with a smirk at the end.

He didn't feel bad telling her all these things, he wasn't scared of her or any retaliation she and her guild could do to him.

If they openly attacked Fairy Tail it would give him a valid excuse to kill them all without being ostracized from the guild.

Ultear had a stunned look on her face and stared at Alex in fear while she processed everything he said.

'He knows too much! Should I try killing him? Could I even kill him?' she thought before remembering their first encounter, she hadn't even been able to react before all her magic was sealed and she was completely helpless.

She shuttered at the thought of fighting him when he was actually serious, his magic was just too strange.

Watching Ultear shutter while she was still in thought, Alex couldn't help but smirk 'I bet the thought crossed her mind to try and kill me' he laughed internally.

He had left quite the impression on her at their first encounter on the island, and was sure it had crossed her mind.

Letting out another sigh to grab her attention again he said " Look, I don't intend to turn you in for your crimes or even tell anyone else in this world about them. You aren't entirely at fault and could still change. While I don't believe you could ever truly make amends for the lives you've taken, I can tell something has changed about you since we first met. Make me a simple promise right now, that you will never again take the life of an innocent and I will promise you that you'll have nothing to fear from me sharing your secrets" Alex said seriously.

He wouldn't share her secrets or interfere in her life as he wanted to see what she would do now that her mother was back, though he didn't want more people to die at her hands so he would monitor her heart and magic when she made her promise.

'Nothing quite like a magical lie detector' he thought as he watched her reaction.

Ultear pondered his words seriously for a long while and the light of hope started to return to her eyes. Seemingly coming to a decision she turned to Alex.

"I Ultear Milkovich, Promise to from this day forward never take an innocent life willingly" she said resolutely.

'Damn, she wasn't lying. The truth musta hit her harder than I thought' Alex thought, slightly shocked that she was truly serious.

He originally thought that she would try and trick him and that he'd have to keep tabs on her in the future.

Alex nodded to her and looked her dead in the eye "I Alexander Black, Promise that I will not share the dark past of Ultear Milkovich with anyone but her, so long as she keeps her promise". Alex spoke as resolutely as Ultear had and they quickly shook hands to seal the deal.

The whole ordeal had a very 'deal with the devil' vibe, but it was entirely un-magical.

They both lapsed into silence after that, neither having anything to say to the other. The hours passed and Ultear swapped places with her mother so she could get some sleep.

Alex didn't need any sleep yet so he stayed on watch.

"Are you not going to get some sleep? I should be more than capable to watch the camp" Ur asked as she came over to where Alex was sitting.

"I'm fine, I can usually go a couple days without needing to sleep and I like the dark anyway" Alex said casually.

Ur just nodded before looking around the dark forest, seemingly lost in thought.

It was about an hour of silence before she turned to Alex with a serious look on her face. "What happened to my body when you guys "woke" me up?" Ur asked, a little unsure she even wanted to know.

"You noticed something different?" Alex asked with his interest piqued.

"Something "different" would be a massive understatement. My magic responds quicker and is far easier to use than it used to be, I may have been sleeping for 10 years but to me it has only been a day, I would not forget my own magic. Not to say anything about my missing leg being returned." Ur said with a look that demanded answers.

'To tell.. Or not to tell, that is the question' Alex thought, Wondering if he should come clean.

He didn't doubt she would find out eventually from Ultear or Gray and was actually a little surprised they hadn't told her already.

Alex let out another sigh, it seemed to be his thousandth sigh of the night. 'I should stop doing things for people, the follow up questions take too much out of me' he thought in mock anger at himself.

"Well, for starters. What did Ultear and Gray tell you?" he asked.

"We mostly just talked about their lives up to this point, they said you were the one that reversed the Iced Shell to bring me back and if I wanted answers they would have to come from you because they weren't too sure themselves" Ur replied seriously.

'Those lazy bastards!! Dumping all this shit on me' Alex thought darkly.

"Well..." he began. "I don't entirely know how to say this, so I'll just get to the point. Ultear, Gray and myself created a new vessel for your consciousness using Ultear's DNA, and I just moved your power and 'Soul" into it" Alex said, dropping a bomb on the woman's fresh new mind.

'Ha! If I'm gonna suffer, you're both coming down with me' Alex thought smugly as he watched the stunned Ur turn a fierce glare on the sleeping forms of Gray and Ultear.

The smug look only lasted until Ur trained her gaze back on him though.

"So you're telling me, this isn't my real body? And you three basically brought me back from the dead?" Ur asked slowly.

"Pretty much yup!" Alex responded happily to the scary woman.

This was an experiment he was very happy with and wasn't going to deny it.

Seeing the look on Alex's face that seemed to show he had just solved all the problems in the universe made Ur want to punch him, but she was still too stunned processing everything she had heard and the fact she was basically brought back from the dead.

The rest of the night passed in blissful silence for Alex, he could hear Ur mumble dark things under her breath, but it always involved her daughter or students so he didn't care.

Before the others got up and while Ur was still lost in thought, Alex went to the beach. They still needed a way off the island, and the demons didn't have a big enough vessel for them all.

Using {Mana Manipulation} he started creating an Ice Boat, complete with a propeller that he could control with mana. It wasn't very big, just big enough for them all to sit comfortably and was streamlined enough to make it very fast in the water.

He used a little enchanting to change the nature of the Ice so it would be permanent, they could probably even drive it all the way to Magnolia if they went up the river to the big lake behind the guild hall.

'Hmmm, I might actually try that after I drop everyone off at Hargeon. That way I can just fly if the boat gets stuck in a narrow channel' Alex thought with a happy smile.

It had been a long time since he cruised around on a motor boat and was looking forward to it.

Alex was long done his Boat before everyone started waking up so he decided to make breakfast for the group, it was a quick breakfast but it sure beat the hell out of travel rations.

When everyone finally woke up to the wonderful smell of food cooking, they were ecstatic and ate like starved animals.

Alex had many different spices tucked away in {Inventory} and was getting quite a bit better at cooking.

They packed up camp and headed to the beach where everyone just stared dumbly at the 'contraption' Alex had made.

"Why didn't you build a sail? Or paddles?" Toby, one of Lyons Lackeys asked.

"Just shut-up and get on or I'm going to leave you all here, I've had enough of this place" Alex said in a slightly annoyed tone. 'Freaking guys, can't appreciate anything these days' Alex grumbled internally.

Everyone climbed aboard and were actually impressed with the comfortable seats but were still confused about how it would drive, they had seen magic vehicles before, but this one didn't have an ethernano plug.

Their attention was quickly stolen by Gray who had to lean over the side to lose his breakfast.

"What the hell! How am I getting sick? What is this feeling" He asked groggily through bouts of puking.

"AHAHAHA!" Alex laughed uproariously. "It's the curse of the Slayer, once you reach a certain power in Slayer magic your own senses start to screw with you when in/on vehicles. Welcome to the world of motion sickness" Alex said still slightly chuckling.

"Since when is Gray a Slayer Wizard?" Lyon asked curiously.

"Don't sweat the small stuff" Alex replied casually before casting Troia on Gray so they could leave.

He knew everyone here wanted an answer but had no intention of telling them anything, he had already told Gray that if he told people it was Alex that made him a Slayer, he would be in a world of hurt.

He didn't wait for anymore questions and started speeding off towards the mainland.

Gray the Demon Slayer! Who doesn't like motion sickness right? LOL!

Enjoy.
