1 Prologue: The Greatest Hero

Prologue: The Greatest Hero

The sky was dark that even the slightest bit of sunlight was nowhere to be seen. The wind was not even present while the atmosphere was very gloomy.

At a cemetery, a single coffin can be seen surrounded by a crowd that was so many to even count their exact number. Their expressions without any exception were all looking sorrowful.

Standing beside the coffin with her red eyes, was an old woman in her 60's. She was looking at the crowd surrounding her with a sad expression that was even worse than the others.

She then turns to look at the coffin beside her and a single teardrop from her eyes, she immediately wipes it with her sleeves. After that, she turn back her attention to the crowd.

"He was the best son I could've ever asked for. If only I can trade my life for his, I would've already done it over a million times. But I can't stop him since it was his own choice and I respect that. I am proud as his mother, Jay saves the whole realm from the destruction. When the times call for it, he did not hesitate to head to the battlefield. Sacrificing his life for others. He was a hero. My hero…my son…my beloved son.. *sob *sob.." She ended up not finishing her words as she started to cry really hard. Thinking about her beloved son who is not inside the coffin, she can't help but think of how it started 40 years ago.

"Mom I want to learn cultivation!" Jay was only 8 years old at that time. Usually, cultivation starts at the age of 12 when the bones are matured enough to endure tempering the body.

But Jay was different. At first, she was hesitant to teach him but her husband said that it was okay and let the kid cultivate since he would likely surrender after experiencing the pain.

It was true that Jay experience a pain that he had never felt before, but contrary to his father's expectation, he did not surrender but continued cultivating instead.

When Jay reaches 12, he had already reached the eight-level of First rank which showcased his talent for cultivation. After that, they poured everything they have into cultivating him. They had enrolled him into the best academy and Jay was at the top of his generation.

He graduated at an early age with a cultivation of at the peak of the Fourth Rank. Jay then joined the army against the demons. He fought against demons of different ranks for years after that becoming renown among the seven realms.

Jay achieved the peak of cultivation at the age of 47, which was unprecedented. Not only because he had achieved the peak of cultivation but had also killed half the population of the demons and had even killed their emperor.

It was a momentous moment for humanity, everyone was celebrating their victory against the demons and Jay became the hero of humanity. And she was really happy at that time, sadly, her husband had already died because of an incurable disease or he would have boasted how great he was for giving birth to such a son.

But that happy celebration only lasted for a short moment. As the remaining demons decided to destroy their Demon Royalty Core, which contains an insane amount of energy that could destroy a realm of the other neighboring realms.

The only way to stop it from destroying the realms was to teleport it into the void. But that means that whoever chose to teleport it will also die from it. Although the consequences were that grave, Jay did not even hesitate one bit as he teleported the Demon Royalty Core into the void.

And that was the end of the demon remnants plan to destroy the seven realms, which was also the end of the Greatest Hero to be ever known.

Even the body of her son was not left and could only have a funeral with an empty coffin. She cried even harder thinking about this.

Those people who were close to Jay were also crying really hard. His friends, lover, teachers, disciples, and even his enemies. Even the other people from other realms, even though they can't attend his funeral were also sad.

The whole realm was covered in darkness as if it was also mourning over the death of a great hero.
