Sigh... Just as I was about to reach the city I have been dreaming of for quite some time, it was closed.

It was just my luck that the first time I met a bunch of fugitives and wasted a day, a bunch of hero wannabes showed up to waste my time.

When I thought the worst was over, the city gates I had arrived at were closed.

I could see the blatantly obvious sign that was hung on the city gate, saying that the city would be closed for three more days due to reasons unknown.

But based on Iris's explanation, the city is not welcoming anyone for the moment to recuperate after a war.

Upon arriving at the city where Iris previously lived, I totally forgot about the fact that she had just lost the man she was married to, the city chief, just a week or two prior to our arrival.

The battle ended just yesterday with the victory going to the hands of the aggressor, which was expected since the head of the chief died at the start of the war.
