2 Chapter 2: Trial of Deity of Death!
In a sunny open field area, there was a girl who was sleeping peacefully. Her long silver hair and pale skin makes her scary but her facial features make her stunning as well. A gently breeze of wind blew on her making her waking up. She was wearing a black robe with a hood and a leather belt on her belly.
She was slowly waking up, as she open her eyes, a blindly light illuminates her eyes making her covered it by her right arm from the sunlight. But then, in a mini-view of her sight, she notice that she was on an open field area. She looked at her arms making her so surprised on what she saw, her skin isn't a morena anymore, and it was too pale like a skin of a dead body.
"…W-what happened to my skin?" she muttered, she touch her face and inspect her hair making her more surprised.
Her short-black hair turned into a long silver hair one. She just closed her eyes and sighed on what she just notice changes in her body. She didn't notice that her black eyes turned into a red-crimson one. But then she was more surprise on a window text appeared in front of her.
"…W-welcome new player?" she read the text and another text window appeared.
[Will you accept the Trial of Deity of Death?]
[Yes] [No]
"…W-what is this?" She confusedly looked at the text window. "…well, Goddess Hel gave me this role, so I should accept it, right?" she muttered and clicks the yes option.
Another window popped up.

"…So, if I didn't finish this quest, I'll be punished?" she muttered as she touch her chin like a wise man. She just shrug and stretch-out.
She stood up immediately and look around the area but only she can saw was grass but in left side, she saw a small village but it's kind of far away and looking straight up ahead, there was a gigantic walls standing. "…Walls?" she muttered as she looked at it.
"…but first of all, where the hell am I?" she said and still figuring out where she was bee sent. Then she heavily sighed and looked down on the grassy ground.
"…I guess I'll start walking and get as soon as possible on the near village." She muttered and starts walking.
Few minutes of walking on the wide open field, she just suddenly felt something terribly giving her a body shiver and chill through-out her nerves.
"…W-what was that?" she confusedly asks making her more very cautious.
"…please, spare our lives…n-no! P-please I beg of yo---accck!" a voice suddenly spoke inside her mind making her startled and starting to look around. More of voice starting to spoke up inside her head making her more anxious.
"…P-please…stop coming inside my head!" she exclaimed as she covered her ears with her arms and kneeled on the ground.
"…stop!" she muttered as she covered her ears.
Then she suddenly felt mysterious auras on the destination she's going. She slowly stood up and looked at that direction; her eyes gotten widen as she saw the small village was on fire and smoke starting to lift up on the sky.
Her instinct says to go there but her mind defying it. She doesn't want to go there that she know that it will lead her to trouble.
"Stop fighting of who really you are. You're no longer human; you are a deity of death. Do your job, Demise." A strange voice said inside her head.

"…No, no, no! I don't want too!" she said and she starts crying as she covered her ears. The grass that surrounds her was slowly dying and even the ground. "…p-please, I hate this! I don't want this anymore!"
And then, out of her notice, a wild rabbit approach her; she was calmed for a bit after she saw that. The voices shouting inside her head stopped. She slowly uncovering her ears and stared at the wild rabbit who's staring at her.
"…h-hello there, little fella." She greeted and slightly smiled at the rabbit.
She slowly moves her right hand; she was planning to pet the rabbit. As her hand touched the head of the rabbit, she petted it and making her more relax and comfortable.
She took the rabbit with her both hands and raise it above her head, "…ahaha, you're so fluffy and cute at the same time." She said and giggled.
She hugged the rabbit for a few seconds and let it go on the wild again. She wave at the rabbit that's going back on the wild roaming on the open field.
Then she was silent for a few minutes and looked up on the sky, thinking of what she will do that she's now longer a human, but she's now a deity of death. But she just shrugs and continued walking to reach the burning village right now.
But deep inside of her, she can't really accept her fate. She's scared of this new life given to her. But still, she doesn't have any other choice but to follow it and finish her quest.
It almost thirty minutes she spends to walking just to reach the abandoned village. It was still burning and she found some corpses lying on the ground. She wants to be scared after seeing this scenario but she wasn't scared at all. She was calm all the time and she doesn't even know why.
And as she blinks her eyes, she saw some souls of a humans roaming around; there were like a color light-blue flames. She felt sympathy towards to them after seeing the souls of innocent humans. She approach one of a soul and sat infront of it and gently touch the floating orb of a human soul.
"Shhh, you don't have to be scared…everything will be alright." She gently said as she touches the human soul. She can feel how was scared of that human soul was.
[Collect 20 Human Souls – 1/20]
"…I'm here to guide all of you to an afterlife, I'm Be—no, I'm Demise, Deity of Death." She said and smiled on it.
Then the soul glows and slowly disappeared in front of her. It turned into tiny particles and as her scythe appeared and absorbs those particles. After that, she stood up and looks at the other soul roaming around the small village. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fist.
"…this is…unforgivable." She muttered and starts walk and approach the other souls. She almost spends her time comforting the other souls and absorbing it.
She almost finished her job, and it almost getting dark. She looked up on the sky, "…I need to finish this…" she muttered look around again. She notice one soul but it was different to others. She can feel the hatred of that soul.
"…so…strange…soul…" she mumbled as she slowly approaching the soul with red color flame. As she slowly approaching it, she sensing definitely something else; it was so strange and dangerous at the same time.
She was two meter away from the soul until a strong force hits her making her flew for a few meters but she able to withstand it.
"…kill it…before it go…berserk." a strange voice whispered again to her ears.
"…kill it?" she was totally confused on what was going on.
As she watches the red soul turning into something else, it formed into a scary monster; four meters tall, thin body but it has two sharp fangs. It has four arms with deadly claws and two scary feet.
She grips her scythe tightly as she saw that soul turned into a scary monster.
"…I see, a soul with full of hatred will turned into a deadly-scary monster." She said and she starts sweating.

The night for her is really terrible; she really doesn't know what to do now. She step backward as she hold her scythe with her both hands. Demise doesn't even know how to fight using a scythe.
Then out of her notice, the corpses around the town started to move and approach her. After a few minutes, she suddenly heard a growling behind her. As she gazed at her back, she saw a corpse walking again.
"…Z-zombies?!" she exclaimed.
She has nowhere to run, she was surrounded by corpses and a deadly-scary monster was standing there and watching her being surrounded. She closed her eyes and waited for her death comes once again.
But it was few minutes passed and there's still nothing happened at her, she slowly opened her eyes and she saw the corpses just looking at her like it was waiting for something else. But still she can't stop thinking of what will happen to her if those corpses' starts feasting her flesh.
The monster at the back of corpses shouts as the corpses move and starts surrounding Demise, she doesn't really know what to do next now.
"W-what should I do?" she was panicking and can't think straight because of that.
She sat down on the ground and covered her head on fear; she's trembling and can't do anything about it. She just waited for her own death, but then, so suddenly she heard a manly shout as a growled of a corpse.
She slowly raised her head and she saw a man in a shiny clad armor and wearing a red cape. She was surprised of that, "…w-who are you?" she ask.
Then the man gazed at her with a smile, "…I'm Arthur, an adventurer of Cleveland Kingdom and I came here to save you."

"…I'm Arthur, an adventurer of Cleveland Kingdom and I came here to save you." he said to me and I was too astonished.
I just watch him killing those zombies one by one until the red one monster left. I don't know but I sense immense hatred coming from that monster. My instinct says that I should the one who fight that monster and not that cool handsome looking guy.
As I watch Arthur engaging the monster, it was too obvious that he was got a hard time to fight it off. Because every time he slashed any part of that monster, it just regenerates so fast leaving no scar behind.
"…hey you, are you okay?"
I gaze back and I saw a two girls and one another guy running to towards me and when they finally reached me. The two girls helped me to stand up and the other guy helped Arthur fighting off that monster.
"…w-where are we going?" I ask as they guide me.
"Can't you even tell it? We're helping any survivor of this village and apparently you're the only one who survives fighting off the raiders." The girl with shoulder-length black hair said.
"...you mean there's another survivor of this village?"
"…yes, and they were successfully escape because of you and the others who fought the raiders earlier." The other girl said; she has very long blond hair and emerald like eye color.
I tried to gazed back at Arthur and to his ally who's fighting the scary monster right now. My instinct says that both that guy will die if I don't stopped that monster rampaging.
I must go back. I must do my job. I'm a Deity of Death and I shouldn't be afraid of anything else. I shouldn't run away to this job I receive. I must face that monster and take its soul. That's right, I'm no more longer a human, I'm Demise, and Goddess Hel baptize me as her servant; Deity of Death.

And there, I felt something changing to myself inside-out. I grip my scythe so tight and looked at that monster whose still fighting Arthur and his friend.
"…Let's go back." I said as I watch Arthur fighting off the monster.
But then, the two both stopped on walking as the girl with black hair faced me with her pissed looked.
"…Are you out of your mind?!" she angrily said.
"…you almost died awhile ago and you want to go back there?!" she angrily said to as she grabs my both shoulder.
"…Fei… stop it, you're scaring her." The girl with blond hair said, she looked at me with her calming looked and took my right hand and gently touch it.
"…listen, you don't have to be worry. Everything will be all right. Arthur and Bax are there to stop the monster and give us time to escape."
I shrug my head and looked at her eyes straight. "…my instinct says that I should defeat that monster, or else…"
"…or else what?"
I look at the girl who has black hair, "…they'll die." I said and making the black hair girl grabs my robe and raises her left fist.
But the blonde girl tried to stop her but it was futile, "SHUT THE FUCK OR I'LL BEAT OUT OF YOUR PALE FACE!" she exclaimed.
To be honest, I want to be feeling scared at this moment, but I can't feel it anymore. I was just too relaxed at this moment. I just show her my poker face that I don't really give a fuck about it.
I just sighed and looked at her face.
"…F-Fei…Stop! She's one of the people of this village here and we are ordered to protect the people of this village at all cost!"
The blond hair girl said and trying to remove hand of her friend to my robe, but I just simply remove it by force. She groaned in pain as I did that but I just look at her menacingly.
"…F-Fei!"
The blond hair girl worriedly approached her friend and touches the injured hand of her friend. Her hand starts to glow for a few seconds and after that she let it go and the girl clenched her fist and furiously looked at me.
"…I'm only here to hunt that monster and nothing else." I said and turned back away from them and started to walk away.
"…H-hey stop right there---"
I stopped and gazed back and I menacingly look at the girl named Fei, "…if you stop me, your friends will die." I said and continued walking away from them.

"…Tch!" Arthur was having a hard time to fight off the monster. He makes a stance and look at Bax who's still having a hard to dodge all of the attacks of the monster.
"…BAX! BUY ME SOME TIME!" he shouts and gripped his sword's hilt.
"…YOU GOT IT!" Bax replied as he dodges the attack of his opponent.
But then, Arthur felt a chill on his back, he was startled because of that. He looks at his back and saw a girl in a black-robe. Her eyes are glowing red and her silver hair gently blowing by the wind; she's carrying a big scythe at her right hand and menacingly looking at his direction.
Suddenly, his body starts trembling on fear he just felt. As slowly the girl in the black-robe approaching her, he started to feel a weird feeling. He gritted his teeth as he pointed his sword to the girl he just save earlier.
"…Stop! I can feel an immense black magic to you! Who are you and what are you doing here?" he shouts and makes a stance.
The girl was stopped three meters away from Arthur. "…I'm Deity of Death, and I'm here to collect some human souls." She answered and starts to walk again.
Arthur was stepped backwards as the girl approaching him, "…I said stop!" Arthur shouts once again but the girl didn't stop. She played her scythe around using her right hand and then she slashed the air vertically appearing a black particles flying towards to Arthur.
In surprise, Arthur immediately dodges it by leaping on the left side and then he heard a groaning monster. He gazed at her back he saw the monster stopped for a moment, it receive a fatal wound and it didn't regenerate.
"…W-what the." The only words came out on his mouth.
Then the girl ran towards to the wounded red-monster on her top speed and slashed it feet making her opponent loss its balance.
"I, Demise, the Deity of Death, and I came here for your soul." She muttered sliced the monster into half.

Arthur and Bax was so surprise on what they witness just now. After the monster a red soul appeared infront of her. She let her scythe absorb it and in a moment, it turned into tiny red particles and disappeared.
[Collect Fury Soul – 1/1]
She slammed the edge her scythe on the ground making it disappeared and a magic circle appeared beneath her feet.
"…A-ah, wait!" Arthur shouts but the girl just slightly gazed at him and disappeared in instant.
"Arthur!" a sweet voice overheard at his back, he gazed back and he saw his two female friends running.
"Fei, Lisa…"
As the both girls approached Arthur, they catch their breath.
"…W-where is the monster and that girl with pale skin?" Fei asks
Arthur was silenced in a second and looked at them, "…She killed the monster and disappeared after that." He answered as he looked up on the sky.

A girl suddenly appeared in a forest near to the huge walls, she looks around her surroundings and noticed the huge gate that being protected by guards.
[Congratulations, you've completed the Trial.]
"…completed, huh?" then she suddenly smirked. "…this world is full of cruel humans, killing and stealing lives stock of their own kind for their luxury…" she muttered as she walks under the tall trees.
[Accept the rewards?]
[Yes] [Later]
Her grins even widen when she saw that window text, she clicks the yes and her silver hair turned into black and her red-crimson eyes turned to black. Her black-robe change it colored to brown.
"…I know some people here inside that huge wall, there's some people who's abusing their power and I can feel their deaths is coming and I should be the one who will escorting them on the afterlife." She said and walks away.
"…I, Demise, Deity of Death, and I came here to harvest some souls."
