7 To Mt. Lightning and Back Home

Lily when waking up looked around to find herself in a rock house. In front of her sat Simon and the red haired girl they just had a fight against. Lily seeing that the girl was calm felt happy as she was helpful against the women. She also remembered how she managed to hurt Simon which made her feel bad.

She had thought that since her ability didn't work on Simon yesterday, she didn't think he would be harmed by her. "What did I do?"

Lily after a couple seconds decided to name the move she just did Ice Age. It was just like the ice age itself as it froze everything within a few kilometers. Feeling the energy she used to do this was low, Lily thought to herself. "I probably should use this move unless my mana grows even larger or I get more proficient in using my power."

As Lily was lost in her mind, Simon was back in his body as he looked around to see Lily up. He walked over and hugged her, taking her by surprise.

Simon let go after a couple seconds and sighed. "Please warn me again if you do something like that again. I think my butt got freezer burn."

Lily laughed as she thought it was a joke but it was actually true as Simon's butt was indeed frozen. Luckily he healed extremely fast and there was no more damage. As for the other demigod, Simon guessed that her heat and fire powers created a thin layer of protection.

"So what do you call that new move of yours?" Simon asked as he was curious.

Lily smiled. "Ice Age."

"Now that's cool." Simon said before he turned to the other girl. "I've calmed her down but she's still down from her memories. Her name's Hestia Flare, I didn't know her real name and she didn't have any memories of it so I gave it to her."

Hestia turned around to look at Lily and nodded, taking a glance at Simon before her face turned a tad more red. Lily frowned at this before she said. "Let's go, we need to get to Mt. Lightning quickly before all of the monsters start dispersing out into the surrounding area."

Simon nodded in agreement before he turned to Hestia. "Do you want to stay here or do you want to come with us?"

Hestia spent a second in thought before she stood up. "I'll come."

Simon nodded and getting out of the house, he picked up Lily and turned to Hestia. "Can you turn into your dragon form in command?"

As Simon said this, he couldn't help but notice that Hestia was frowning, looking at Lily who had a smirk. Confused about this but not wanting to ask, Simon waited for an answer.

"I don't know." Hestia said after a second.

Simon thought about this for a second before he sensed Hestia's mana being locked inside of her body. It wasn't locked forever but it looked like it was on standby mode.

"Try to pull out your mana." Simon said.

"Mana?" Hestia asked as this was new to her.

"Yeah, it's apparently the energy we use to fuel out powers. Everyone has it but we have it in a large quantity. That's why we're so powerful and all that. Concentrate and you should feel it, can't be that hard to miss." Simon said as it was a literal large lake compared to other people's puddles of mana.

Hestia closed her eyes and focused on finding her power, the power of fire. Being a demigod, all of them were more sensitive to mana and just as she started searching, she found it. Pulling on the energy, Hestia's form changed as she began to grow red wings, tails, her nails grew longer and scales appeared around her body that also grew larger.

Simon nodded with a smile. "Nice, now let's go."

Like that, they flew out into the sky but slower as Hestia couldn't fly as fast as Simon could. She could only barely make it to the sound barrier level which was mach one. So with their speed being slower, they wouldn't get to their destination until a while later.

Meanwhile back at Fire Desert, a large group of A rank adventurers were marching into the area where Hestia used to be located at. There were over twenty A rank adventurers who had gathered together quickly as a monster who was capable of wiping out an A rank party was too dangerous to ignore.

"Mages! Prepare your ice spells!" The commanding leader yelled out as they were within running distance of the monster's location. "We are about to approach the monster and the fight will be dangerous, but we cannot let this monster stay and kill out fellow comrades!"

Everyone cheered and the man pulled out his sword before he started running. "Charge!"

Sadly for them, they missed the monster who they were supposed to kill as Hestia was already gone from the area.

----------

"We're here." Simon said as he looked at the giant mountain in the distance.

It had taken the group about two hours to make it to the mountain and Simon could sense the massive amounts of energy at the top of the mountain. He could also sense the lightning demigod along with what seemed like dragons.

"What should we do?" Hestia asked as she looked at the massive dark clouds circling the mountain, releasing lightning everywhere.

Simon looked at the two and sighed. "You two are still too weak to fight so you'll stay here."

"We've recovered enough." Lily spoke out but Simon flicked her forehead.

"You do know that I can sense mana even better than you can right? I've got this one so stay here and recover your energy." Simon said before he flew down to the ground and set lily down.

"See you guys later." Simon then blasted off into the mountains.

Hestia and Lily whose senses were still good frowned with Hestia making the first comment about the lightning Demigod. "Do you feel the power?"

"....Yes, but Simon can handle it." Lily agreed but knew the outcome.

Hestia nodded as she also felt Simon's power which was still basically an ocean to her when she sensed it. She couldn't earlier during their fight as her mind was muddled with confusion but now that she was focused, she knew if Simon was serious then she would have died.

Back to Simon who was slowly approaching the mountain, he was landed a distance away to look at the dead dragons. "Looks like he's confused as well. Oh boy."

Simon didn't like the guy and knew he would never, but since he was basically like a new person without his memories. "I guess he deserves a second chance."

Simon then remembered how dragons were supposed to have some kind of dragon core within their bodies, located near their hearts. It was like their mana storage unit and just one core could sell for hundreds of thousands of gold coins. Seeing as the group was low on money at the moment, Simon used his telekinesis to find and grab the cores.

After grabbing four dragon cores from the dead dragons, Simon observed them, they were about the size of a grape, yellow in color and seemed to glow. The energy stored within was about half as much as what was within Hestia. Simon only knew that the dragon cored could be sold for a high price but he didn't know what other uses they had. There were a lot of rumors and this made Simon wonder if any were true at all.

"I can always test them out later." Simon thought as he set them in his pouch before he took off in the direction of the Lightning Demigod.

----------

Lily and Hestia were sitting on rocks as they starred in the direction of Mt. Lightning. The two of them were silent for a while before Hestia turned to Lily.

"Did you know me as well?" She asked as she mainly had memories of Simon.

Lily didn't look at her as she replied stoically. "No."

Hearing this and seeing Lily's expression, Hestia got irritated and asked another question. "What about the others?"

"No."

Still receiving the same answer, Hestia stood up and walked over. "Can't you talk more normally like when Simon was here?!"

Lily hearing this frowned and finally turned to face her. "I don't know who you were before this and I don't like you at all. I'm only tolerating you because you were acquainted with Simon."

Hestia felt hurt as she retorted. "Aren't we the same though?! Weren't we all kidnapped and tortured for a week together?!"

Lily sighed as she asked. "What memories do you have of that week?"

Hestia paused for a second before she answered. "Just that I was hurt a lot."

"Do you remember what you did during that week?" Lily asked again.

"....Not really." Hestia said as she held her head.

Lily sighed before she explained. "I don't like anyone who was kidnapped with Simon and myself. Everyone there was all for themselves and while that's ok, they caused Simon to suffer even more than he should have. Even myself."

Hestia became silent for a while as she didn't know what to say. From the memories she had of what had happened during that week, she only knew of the torture but not how other kids hurt each other.

"If you want me to act like friends, then you've better prove that you're not like those other kids." Lily said.

Before Hestia could say anything though, a large lightning bolt ten times larger than a normal one exploded at the top of the mountain. The two looked over as five more bolts of lightning shot down over the mountain, shaking the ground, each as powerful as the last.

Hestia seeing this became worried as her body changed into her dragon form. "We have to go help Simon."

"No, he said he can handle it." Lily said as she kept her gaze at the mountain top.

Hestia looked at her and yelled. "Are you crazy! Did you not feel the power in those bolts of lightning!"

"I did and I know Simon can handle it. If we go there right now, we would just be extra baggage for him to protect." Lily said reluctantly as she hated being useless.

Hestia gritted her teeth as she ignored Lily. With her wings stretched out, Hestia was about to take off until she felt a chill run up her spine. Her wings had been frozen as well as her legs and the person who did it was Lily.

Her hands were glowing light blue as a cold mist surrounded her. "I told you to wait for him to return."

"Don't do that again!" Hestia growled as her body temperature rose, the ice melting with fire blazing across her body.

Once again Hestia took off but before she could get to her top speed, Lily froze her again and she crashed into the ground. Hestia easily melted the ice on her body as she turned around and charged at Lily in anger.

"I warned you!" Hestia roared, her speed increasing as she approached Lily.

Moving as fast and as calmly as she could, Lily's entire body released even more cold mist with the surrounding area turning to ice. Her hands began to glow one more time as she slammed both of her hands into the ground.

After that movement, ice exploded from the ground going straight towards Hestia. Going as fast as she was, she couldn't evade at all as she slammed into the attack. The ice shattered against her body as ice started spreading all over, freezing her movements.

"Stay down, we're just wasting energy." Lily commanded with a cold stare.

"When I get out of here-!" Hestia began before she paused.

Lily wondering why she paused turned around and noticed that Simon was holding his head and sighing at the same time. He walked over and with a wave of his hand, the ice that covered Hestia shattered.

"I leave for a few minutes and you guys are already fighting? I hope you guys don't do this in the city, I'd hate to waste our new source of income for anything damaged." Simon said before he turned around to face the humanoid yellow dragon.

"This is Jake Volt, self named and self proclaimed strongest being alive. He's been convinced to stop creating so much chaos as you can see." Simon said before the girls noticed that the mountain top was clear.

Normally Mt. Lightning always had a lightning storm ahead but because the lightning dragons were dead, there were no more storms. With a name of Mt. Lightning no longer fitting unless more dragons appeared, Simon wondered what it's new name would be.

"How did you get him to come with us so fast?" Hestia asked in wonder.

Simon sighed but before he could explain, Jake yelled out. "I didn't lose at all! It was a tie!"

"As you can see." Simon rubbed his head. "He's completely different now with barely any memories. He wants to be the strongest and sensing me, we had a little scuffle with the winner getting one wish."

"What did you wish for?" Hestia asked.

Simon sighed again. "For this guy to calm down and stop killing and using his lightning randomly. Though right now he wants to follow me and win a fight to prove he's the strongest."

"Hey! I didn't lose!" Jake yelled as he also changed back into a normal human with yellow markings around his body.

"Yeah yeah." Simon said to him before he turned back to Hestia.

"We should get you some clothes though, both of you if you're going into town with us." Simon said as they were both basically naked.

Hestia blushed as she also noticed this after she was no longer deep in thought, covering her body and glaring at Jake. Jake also looked at himself before he smiled wryly, covering himself as well. The only reason why they didn't realize sooner was due to their dragon forms covering their important parts.

As for why Simon and Lily never mentioned anything, having no privacy for an entire week made them quite numb. They no longer cared for seeing others naked as it was an ongoing occurrence.

"Maybe I shouldn't be used to this." Simon thought as Lily glared at him.

Now that their business was finished, the group started making their way back to Crossroads City.
