How lungs work

"Do you think there's something wrong with you?" I pictured a conversation being administered by my lungs, each breathy sentence spoken with an expansion. A gurgled voice would respond "Let's just shut down" and then each organ would start to split, veins arching, fatty substances clumping into tough bonds mutilating the soft fleshy underneath of my skin.

A desperate shaking force loosened my neck and uncontrollable throwing of my head awoke me. "Your legs gave way" I looked down, folds of green glooped in murky puddles, my dress suffocating the ground beneath me. The slow build up of a wet touch slipped around my legs. Fuck. I tore my eyes from the scene and attached them to the woman sheltering my body with a sympathetic expression.

"I'm so sor-" Blood leaked from her mouth, a black, thick substance leaking out in clots.

I knew moments like these didn't exist.

"Hey...?" She stroked my cheek, the sound of metal clinking against eachother in a soothing manner. I blinked hard. "Sorry" As I reopened my eyes, I look directly at hers, so incredibly inky it felt like I could dip a fountain pen inside and describe every droplet that passed them.

"I saw you looking uncomfortable as soon as you stepped out your door, thought I'd draw you into a conversation but, yeah, you went a bit out of it"

I nodded slowly, and pushed myself from the pebbled walkway, pulling away the dripping material which clamped to my body. Using my back hand, I rubbed the corner of my waterline with increasing stress. I glanced at her, she devoured me. Her lips parted at an entrancing pace "Tell me your name"

I thought about it for a second, let the question ripple and collapse, let it become familiar.

"Belladonna" I breathed as I bit my lip- a frequent habbit.

"Lilith"
