My legs still ache from my third overnight shift at the local convenience store this week. To be truthful, I am not looking forward to the next shift later this week, but at least I can get some well deserved rest until 9:00 at night on Saturday.

Listening to Japanese music from the 1970s should soothe my nerves as I walk home to my subpart living conditions: a single room apartment close to the nearby college in town since I am still a student, despite being a computer-only one. Stuck behind it for a few hours out of the day rather than a whole day of unwanted interaction.

The early morning chill….it flows throughout the city as it reminds me that it is going to be winter in a few weeks.

"There's gotta be at least one coffee shop open right now," I think to myself.

"I doubt I can stay awake long enough to make some Earl Grey tea and get some of my school work done."

As this thought clouds my head, I could hear a bunch of footsteps approaching me in the distance.. With a faint singing.

"Tiptoe through the tulips….."

So, naturally…I started to run as I didn't want to find out who and why.

"Mom should have let me bring a gun here, but no, you'll be able to handle yourself, she said. They have no reason to fuck with you, she said."

My heart is pounding as the thought of being killed by some punks or someone who just likes killing people is screaming in my mind.

And even if I get killed, the police wouldn't care to solve it unless a white rich person is involved, painting me as the suspect who bit the bullet.

I could hear their footsteps easily get closer to my direction within a few minutes.

"They must have been waiting for me….. trying to ambush me. I need to lose them."

I quickly ran through the nearby park and climbed and scrambled through the equipment to reach the nearby bathroom.

Without looking back, I lock the door and put my back to the door.

"Why ….why am I being chased?"

Instantly, I raced into one of the stalls, covering my mouth as the person could be behind the door.

"Several students came up missing... victims only remember seeing a rose pin on an attacker. But they reappeared as fast as they disappeared without knowing what happened."

Soon, I hear the door bust of its hinges…..

My nerves tense up as they check each of the stalls. One by one….I start to pray the Lord's Prayer as they look past the one I'm in…

I start to put my legs and arms on the walls like I'm Spider-Man.

Soon…the person is standing by my stall, checking it as if someone was using it. Which is their mistake as they simply move on.

I give them a few minutes until the room is completely silent.

About five minutes later, I came out from the stall checking the entire room.

"They must be thinking I would be the typical drug dealer, scoring an early morning sale."

With a sigh of relief, I walk to the entrance to try to get back home. Hopefully I don't run into any of them. It's crazy that people really want to kidnap people to do some disturbing shit. I'm lucky that I'm not joining that. Or be beaten up by some crooked cops that have some racial bias.

Rather than pull my phone out, I'm doing the smart thing of keeping it in my pocket. Why I didn't use the camera or at least the voice recorder is beyond me. That would have been something to use when they were pursuing me.

I open the door to see the early daybreak as l am able to get some rest since that little race of mine made me even more tired.

The moment I stepped away from the entrance…. that's where I messed up.

Immediately I could feel a cloth wrap around my nose and mouth. Before I could hold my breath, the aroma of fresh chloroform quickly entered my system.

I could tell my thoughts were becoming more deconstructed and slurred by the minute..

But I could hear….hear a alluring yet dominant voice in the distance.

"....I found you…. I finally found you, my white rabbit….this time, I won't lose you..."

As my vision became hazy, I saw a rose pin on the person's shirt.

"Don't fight it... just go to sleep."

Soon, everything turns to black.
