1 Prologue

Hello, I will be writing this story for an entry of a contest. My main book that I will be focusing about is PHOENIXEN, while this story will act like a side story of Sho as my entry of the contest. (Well Sho still didn't appear on PHOENIXEN so it is like a stand alone for the meantime.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sho is a 17 year old young man. He was adopted by the 2nd miss, Shuna, of the Kang Family. She was a widowed woman at the age of 25 so when Sho was left on the vicinity of a church she frequently visit, she didn't think twice to adopt him. She believed this was the way of God to comfort her grievances from the death of her beloved husband.
She had been taking care of Sho alone in the house her husband gifted to her for the past 16 years, yet she suffered an accident after coming back from the hospital. This accident took her life.
As the adopted son, Sho inherits all the things she owned. According to the lawyer, his mother seems to know that someone wants her life so she revised her will a week before her death.
She stated that her remaining 100,000 crystal coins (10,000,000 gold coins; 1 crystal coins=100 gold coins) would be given to Sho together with a compass.
When the Kang family came to know that she left 100,000 crystal coins to Sho, they became angry because he is an outsider of the family so why would she left such a big sum to him. They schemed the death of Shuna but they were left seeing the mountain of treasure being horded by an outsider of the family.
Sho didn't care of the money left to him by his mother. He was still shocked that the one that has been taking care of him since he was a child is now dead. This is such a great shock to him that he didn't get out of his house for a whole month, he just remain there mourning for his lost.
After a month he started going out, fortunately it still summer because if it was school days he would have been expelled after being absent for such a long time.
The Kang Family were not satisfied that an outsider is holding the money that was supposed to be theirs, so they sent out assassins from their clan.
The assassins were waiting for an opportunity to kill Sho for the past month. They spent a whole month planning and spying him on his mansion. Some of the assassins suggested to bombard the mansion, but that suggestion was turned down due to the Star sect. They need to kill him through an accidental situation like how they killed Shuna.
Sho oblivious of the schemes behind his back, leisurely walk the park as he is reminiscing the past memories he had made together with his mom.
Even if he knows that he is adopted, deep inside he only acknowledge Shuna as his mother and no one will ever take her place not even his biological mother.
He took out his phone to take a selfie, after doing so he posted it on Instagram with a caption: 'Never would have thought that I am now alone taking a selfie.' After posting the photo, many of his fans commented: 'Welcome back, my hubby' 'I know you are hurt, as your fans we understand if you take more time on recovering for you lost.' 'Hope you are recovering well, Sho-kun'
Taking a morning selfie after a jog was a routine he always did together with his mom. Sho continued to walk through the Star city, visiting every place he had been togethern with his mom. Even if he knows that by doing so he will be reminded that she is dead, he took the courage to face this reality that his mother will never return again on his side.
He was sitting on a park, this park has a four point star in which act like a direction. This was a monument constructed during the initial phase of Star city. Each side point exactly North, South, East and West.
As he was staring at the monument he was reminded that his mother left him a compass. He took out the compass form his neck. He has been putting on the compass as a necklace ever since his mother died, he didn't even took it off while sleeping or even taking a bath!
"This compass is pretty normal, why did my mom left it to me? Also... Aren't people this days use GPS? What does this do?" Sho was very confused on why did her mother gave a compass to him, she even put this on the bank for safety until this was given to him.
Looking back and forth the compass and the monument, he started to notice that the compass is pointing on the wrong direction! According to the monument signs, the compass is pointing on South! Completely opposite to the North which is what a compass should be pointing out in the first place.
At first he thought that the compass is broken, but then it changed to another direction. Now it is pointing on East. "This must be really broken, it points to any direction. Even if it is broken, this is the only momento given to me by Mom. I will taking care of it at it is."
Spending the whole day walking through the city made Sho pretty tired. It is actually pretty amazing walking around a city that is 15,000 kilometer squared. To him it was like walking while the bystander didn't even notice every step he made, it was very silent like a wind gently blows. Even the assassins spying on him nearly lost track of him for at least 18 times, if only Sho didn't stop everytime they might lost his track since the beginning!
Upon returning home he turned on the TV and he watch the news.
"There is newly discovered dungeonon the Southern part of the city, it is on an abadoned land on the Kaio hill. The authorities are now enclosing the area to prevent people from entering the vicinity of the new dungeon and wait for the news coming from the Star sect at which level the dungeon is rated with." Hearing that a dungeon was newly discovered, Sho was pretty interested.
He took out his cellphone and log in on Twitter he ask his fans. 'Who is available for an outing next week? Let's visit the new dungeon!' A minute didn't even pass when he already received many likes and retweets, there were even people who already commented to the post.
On a meeting room on the Kang Family compound, 5 people are discussing a new plan after Sho posted on Twitter.
"So that's it, let's kill him on the dungeon. People will think he died while battling some monsters." The guy in the middle said.
"Yes! We agree!"- Henchman no. 1
"This is a good idea"- Henchman no. 2
"Neither the Star sect will suspect that it is a murder."- Henchman no. 3
"For the meantime let's just act like his fan waiting for his updates on his Twitter. All of you turn the notification on, alright!" All the assassins took out their phone and log on Twitter and turn on the notification on Sho's account.
