Sad and disappointed

After Isabelle met Felix in the lecturer's room this afternoon, Felix decided to visit his high school friend's house tonight. He wanted to make sure what Isabelle said about Evelyn's feelings for him was true or not.

He would look up the girl's home address in the administration department of the faculty.

That afternoon at Evelyn's parents' house, Isabelle was seen watching television with her father, mother, and her cute and adorable niece. They watched while occasionally talking about Evelyn who was at work.

She worked as a waitress in a restaurant located in the city center to help her father to fulfill their daily needs. Evelyn didn't want to add to her parents' burden because they had a 9 year old child living with them.

"Isabelle, did you meet Felix at campus this afternoon?" Victoria asked Evelyn's sister.

"Yes, Mom," Isabelle replied with a languid look.

"Why did your face suddenly turn like that? Are you sick?" Victoria stared in amazement at Isabelle.

"I am not sick. But . . . but, I am sad and disappointed," She said grimly.

Hearing Isabelle said that in front of him, Wesley looked at Isabelle.

"What's the matter with you, My Daughter?" His father asked gently.

"Felix, Dad. I met him for a while in the lecture room to tell him about Sis Evelyn's feelings for him. Isabelle lowered her head, then suddenly burst into tears.

"Auntie?? Why are you crying??" Paul turned to his aunt and hugged his aunt tightly.

"Auntie ... Aunty it's fine ..." Isabelle sobbed.

"What were you two talking about when you met this afternoon?" Victoria wondered what had happened to Isabelle to make her cry like that.

"The man said to me that he will move to London ... he also told me that he doesn't remember Sis Evelyn as a high school friend at all," Isabelle said in between sobs.

"Oh my! So Felix will move to London??" Victoria didn't believe Isabelle's words about Felix moving to London, she covered her mouth with both hands.

"Why would he want to move to London? I always want Felix to be Eve's husband," Wesley took a deep breath

"So am I, Wesley," Victoria said quietly.

"Poor Evelyn. If she hadn't met Roy and dated him, she wouldn't have gotten pregnant ..." Wesley didn't continue because Paul was there.

"Never mind, what's past is past," added Victoria quietly as she shook her head, gesturing to Wesley not to discuss the matter again in front of their grandson.

"Auntie, Uncle Felix actually my father?" Paul was so innocent, he thought Felix was his real father.

"He is not your father, Paul," said Victoria flatly.

"I can't understand why Felix could just forget about his high school friend," Wesley said confusedly.

"Maybe it's because they haven't seen each other in a long time, and they have been busy working, so Felix forgets that he is friends with our daughter," Evelyn's mother replied.

"Yeah, maybe."

When they were talking to each other, pouring out their grievances to each other in the living room, outside Evelyn had just arrived at her house. A moment later, she entered the place where her family was chatting while watching TV shows.

"Good evening, Everyone," Evelyn said, her voice so cheerful and happy.

"Good night, Mom," said Paul spontaneously when he heard his mother's voice. He released his arms from Isabelle, then approached Evelyn who was walking to the sofa.

"Hello, My Handsome Son. How was your school today? Have you done the assignments your teacher gave you or not?" Evelyn smiled broadly at Paul, she embraced her son, and kissed the boy's chubby cheek.

"Yes, Mom. I am very happy because earlier at school I got the best grades in mathematics," He answered proudly.

"Is that true??" Evelyn looked at him in disbelief.

"Right," Paul nodded, trying to reassure his mother.

"Your son is smart like his mother," said Victoria, her voice shaking. She almost cried because she felt happy and sad at the same time.

"Why do you sound sad, Mom?" Evelyn asked, frowning, "What is this??"

Evelyn didn't understand why her mother's voice sounded sad, even though Victoria tried to put on a happy face in front of her daughter, but still she could not hide her sadness and disappointment.

"It's nothing, Eve," Victoria avoided, to her left Isabelle buried her face in her bent legs.

"Isabelle?? Are you crying?" Evelyn looked worried when she saw her sister was silent there.

"Sis..." Isabelle said quietly, Evelyn immediately approached Isabelle and sat between Victoria and her sister.

Paul was surprised to see his mother's attitude which seemed to ignore him, even though he wished Evelyn would give the child more praise and attention.

"What happened to you, Bella?" Eve asked anxiously.

"He ... he is moving to London next month," She answered quietly.

"Who is he??"

"The man you loved in high school is moving to London next month, Isabelle said he doesn't remember you at all as a schoolmate," Victoria interrupted, she had to tell Evelyn everything.

"Do you mean that man is Felix?"

"Right, he is Felix," Victoria nodded.

"No, he can't be moving to London, can he? Tell me he is not moving there," Evelyn's face turned somber and listless, she looked alternately at Wesley and Victoria.

"H--he is ... going to teach at the ... Quinlan University," Isabelle stammered between sobs.

They were all saddened to know that Felix was moving to London, because they really hoped that the lecturer would one day become a good father to Paul whose presence was not acknowledged by Roy.
