Gendar is a small island, a few days south of Berk, they keep to themselves and never trade with outsiders. The Chief's wife dies giving birth to her first child, the loss is hard. From that moment on the Chief hated his daughter and named her so for poisoning his wife. Since then Gift Jente was seen as the village outcast, her father hated her, no one cared for her. When Gift turned 16, a young man set the armoury on fire, Gift barely made it out alive. When the flames died down her father only saw her as the main culprit, even with her step mother's protests. As her punishment, she was to be chained to the only dragon that the island had captured, a juvenile Miasmic DeathGripper for a week. The week goes by, Gift and the DeathGripper strike up a friendship, he was her antidote for years of neglect. Myra, Gift's younger sister, finds them hiding in a cave, on the far side of the island. Myra reveals that the next morning her father and a search party were going to hunt the dragon down and if she was still alive, they would kill her as well. Gift has no other choice, but to leave, Myra begs her to stay, but Gift leaves anyway. A year into her exile she meets a man by the name of Viggo Grimbourne, Viggo agrees to help Gift repay a life debt. Three years later, Gift has made a name for herself, as a well-respected trader and merchant. Hunters and Trappers across the Northern Archipelago, know her as Mercy Raider. After a failed raid on a ship, Gift finds a letter addressed to Mercy. Stating that, by order of the Cheif of Gendar, Mercy Raider is to attend a trial, concerning a past bounty. Gift is reluctant to go back but agrees to return to the horrible island, what will happen when Gift returns and will her family be able to recognise her after four years.
