Chapter 1First Day At School

Door Opens.....

it's about 5:40AM and today is Monday.

Mom has come to wake me just so I can prepare for school. it happens to be my first day in my new School, everyone is happy for me because I'm going to secondary school, Mom is making breakfast and Dad is trying to put my uniforms in other. on my side, I don't really know what to think or how to feel because it's hard to believe that I'm leaving my long time friends to a new school where everything is going to be new and different, even though I'm happy that I'm attaining greater heights, I'm still divided as of what to think or do. my parents on the other hand are making every plans to be sure that I get to school early especially for the fact that it's my first day at school.

the name of my school is Commercial College Gboko, CCG for short. it's a well populated and popular school due to it's past records and it's standard of teaching amongst other activities. it happens to be one amongst the best Secondary schools in Benue state that had gone for secondary school competition and won great awards. it is the first secondary school known to have won COW BELL MATHEMATICS competition award in the state amongst other schools.

those are the reasons why my parents deprived me of the decision to attend one of the popular boarding schools in the state.

Mom: Bem

Bem: yes Mom

Mom: food is ready, hurry up and get to the dining table before your becomes cold and remember that today is your first day at school and the more reason you need to be punctual.

Bem arrives the dining table.

Bem: wow mom this is my best dish.... (wearing a sound smile on his face)

Mom: I know my son and that's why I prepared it for you to cheer you up on your special day like this.

Bem: thanks mom, you're the best mommy in the world.

Mom: you can say that again my love. eat so that your Father will drop you to school on his way to work.

Bem: mom why is Dad not at the dining table with us?

Mom: you are asking as if you don't know that your Father is always a busy man, always showing more love to his work than his life itself.

Dad shows up.

Dad: big boy let's get going.

Bem: Dad, aren't you going to eat before going to work?

Dad: not really my dear, I have an important meeting to attend at the office and moreover I have to drop you at school before I pass on to work.

Mom: my love you know today is your first day at school so behave well okay, remember that you are coming from a well respected family and you have to behave as such.

Bem: okay mom, I've heard you and I promise not to disappoint you and Dad.

teacher comes in, since it's our first day in Jss1, we all are supposed to introduce ourselves starting with the teacher followed by the students.

Teacher: good morning students..

students: good morning sir..

Teacher: welcome to Commercial College Gboko, CCG for short. as you all know, this is your first day here in this school and you can only get to know each other and make new friends only with the means of a proper introduction and that has to begin with myself. my name is Samuel Timve and I will be taking you students in Business Studies.

after the serial introduction, lessons begins.
