28 Sales

The lecture and training on the use of Spirit Arrays lasted for 3 whole weeks. The reason why it took so long was because the blacksmiths and apprentices were used to blacksmithing, but they had zero knowledge of inscribing Spirit Arrays.

Only a few people, a handful in the Myriad Domain, had experience with Spirit Arrays. Kael had proficient knowledge of Spirit Arrays as the Invoker, which was why it was easy for him to forge the items using this method though he had no prior experience to forging.

The blacksmiths and apprentices took about 1 whole week grasping the foundation of building up a mini offensive type Spirit Array. After that, they took another week learning how to draw a mini defensive type Spirit Array. The last week was spent learning how to inscribe many of these mini Spirit Arrays unto a particular item.

All the blacksmiths and apprentices were in the Commoner Rank level, some were in the lower phase, middle phase, and a few were in the late phase. Due to their cultivation levels, the Spirit Arrays which they inscribed could only imbue the items with a Common Rank level.

However, this was still good news. A Common Rank Item forged using Spirit Arrays had the ability to match up to an Uncommon Rank Item forged through the normal process. All 26 of them had the knack of things and were able to successfully produce finished products.

This greatly pleased Richard Duran. With 26 people capable of such a forging technique, it wouldn't take long for them to mass produce enough weapons and armors to equip the City Lord faction as well as to begin trading with other cities.

The group immediately placed their skills into action. Tons of normal weapons and armors were brought into the forges in the City Lord's residence from the various blacksmithing shops in Fledgling City. Flashing brilliant lights could be seen from outside the forges, evidence that the blacksmiths were imbuing Spirit Arrays upon the items.

This lasted for an entire month.

After calculation of the finished products, there was enough weapons and armors for the 700 strong army of the City Lord faction. Furthermore, there was another 1200 sets of weapons and armors ready for sale and trade in other cities.

Richard Duran immediately gathered half of his elite army together, dispatching them to five other cities in the region to sell these items. Fairview City was one of these cities. The city defenses were managed by the remaining 350 men. However, it didn't mean that the city was vulnerable to attacks now. The reason was because there was a ton of cultivators currently residing in Myriad Fledgling Institute, thus security wasn't an issue.

During this whole month, Richard Duran had dispatched rumors about the forging technique, as well as the quality of the finished goods. It was an extremely tempting thing for cultivators at the Commoner Rank to possess a fighting power paralleled to the Herald Rank. Thus this piece of news spread like wildfire within Fledgling City and in the other cities where Richard Duran had dispatched the news.

This was all part of the sales and marketing plan; to get people excited and then they would buy the goods without hesitation upon verifying the truth of the goods.

Although it would take some time to see the effects of such a plan in other cities, possibly a period of two weeks, it created an uproar within Fledgling City itself.

Cultivators came in throngs to the city square, where the City Lord representatives and salesmen were. They were ordering batch after batch of weapons and armors suitable for cultivators at the Commoner Rank.

All of this was done after they had witnessed the power of the weapons inscribed with Spirit Arrays. It could chop away at regular armors like knives slicing vegetables. On the other hand, armors that were inscribed with Spirit Arrays were a tough nut to crack; no matter which normal weapons were used, it was unable to leave a scratch nor even a dent on the armors.

Two weeks after the local sales had begun, good news came back from the borders of the cities. Caravans that were fully loaded for the trips to the five cities came back without any weapons or armors. That meant that all were sold out! In return, there were item bags full of gold coins.

The proceeds made the City Lord faction and the blacksmiths rich men. There was at least a million gold coins in total, of which Kael would receive 200,000 gold coins. The rest were split between the remaining parties.

However, during this six weeks of hubbub, Kael was nowhere to be seen. Shortly after imparting his skills to the blacksmiths, he had informed Richard Duran that he would enter closed door cultivation. Everything, from the production to sales, was managed by the City Lord faction.

In a well-hidden cave in the Outer Region of the Black Heart Forest, close to Fledgling City.

There was a Spirit Array three feet in diameter drawn using spiritual energy laid out on the ground. It was emitting a faint white glow, channeling the spiritual energy from the surrounding towards the Ice Artifice in the middle of the formation.

The Ice Artifice, in turn, was channeling cold energy into the five eggs right below it.

Kael was outside of the circumference of the Spirit Array that he drew, which was to enhance the cold energy being sent into the eggs, quickening their incubation and maturity.

For the past six weeks, Kael had been spending time along in the cave, guarding the eggs and waiting for the eggs to hatch. He chose to seclude himself in the Black Heart Forest because the city was too crowded and the eggs might create unwanted attention and alarm. If people knew that he was in possession of a Black Line Drake's eggs, greed might overcome their rationality and they would attempt to steal the eggs.

Kael didn't want that scenario to unfold, thus he chose this cave to continue the process of incubation.
