35 Refining the Essence Blood

Kael stared at the flask in his hand and at the Ice Artifice that was hovering in the air. He was pondering about which cultivation resource to use first. After a few minutes of deliberation, he decided to ingest one drop of the Drow Ranger's essence blood first.

This was because the essence blood of a Drow was extremely beneficial when tempering one's physical body, including the meridians and internal organs. In this way, Kael's strengthened meridians would be able to handle the invasive nature of the cold energy exuded by the Ice Artifice, therefore increasing his chances of cultivating an ice constitution within his body.

Another issue was the amount of cultivation resources he had. To feed his cultivation as well as the tiny Drakes in the monster cores, he had to have a huge pool of resources to finance their overall consumption. Kael decided that after he had successfully tempered his body with the essence blood, he would use his new found wealth of around 200,000 gold coins to purchase Heaven and Earth treasures as cultivation resources.

Kael sealed and then kept the Ice Artifice back in his item bag. He opened the flask and tilted it, pouring out one drop of the two drops of essence blood. The essence blood was slightly bluish, indicating that it was the blood of a Drow. Within it was a very pure sense of power, due to the fact that it was the cultivation efforts of a high ranking Drow, Feron Nightbringer.

Kael let the essence blood roll around in his palm for a while. The essence blood, which had a sense of spirituality, didn't resist the rolling motion, instead letting Kael do whatever he wanted with it. This showed the sense of willingness that Feron had when gifting Kael with his cultivation efforts.

Knowing that he would experience little resistance from the essence blood when attempting to merge it with his bloodline, Kael began the process. He rolled the essence blood from his palm into his mouth, ingesting the essence blood.

Immediately, Kael felt a burning and boiling sense within his body. Though it had a spirituality that allowed it to enter Kael with no resistance, it's resilient and violent nature caused a great deal of pain in Kael. He gritted his teeth due to the pain that was emerging in his body, forcefully enduring it.

Next, Kael began to circulate spiritual energy from his aurasea towards containing the essence blood, which was quickly spreading its control and power over all of Kael's body. Spiritual energy gushed out unreservedly, forcing and pushing back the essence blood, preventing it from wrecking havoc in his body. The essence blood instinctively retreated to one localized area, which was right above the aurasea.

Kael felt the burning and boiling sensation had localized in one single spot. This made him feel more comfortable, as if someone had given him a temporary anesthetic to relieve him of his pain. However, the pain was still at the localized area, which told Kael that there was urgency in subduing this essence blood and making it his own. If he waited any longer, the essence blood might very well become permanently foreign in his body and remained stuck there, causing him an eternity worth of suffering and pain.

Kael naturally didn't want such a situation to occur. Though there were ways, it would be very troublesome to remove the essence blood in this manner. With all his might, he channeled the spiritual energy to surround the essence blood. Having no room of retreat anymore, the essence blood reacted instinctively, clashing violently against the sea of spiritual energy.

Fortunately for Kael, he had long broken through to the Commoner Rank Lower Phase, therefore he had a certain amount of spiritual energy in the reserves of his aurarsea. If he was still a normal person, he wouldn't have enough spiritual energy to subdue this essence blood. The end result might even be as bad as death from internal excruciating pain.

The essence blood struggled futilely for a ten whole minutes. Faced against the overwhelming might of the waves of spiritual energy gushing out unreservedly from Kael's aurasea, the essence blood finally showed signs of weakening.

The bright light that the essence blood emitted grew weaker and weaker when Kael peered into his own body using his consciousness. Kael saw an opportunity here, thus he directed part of his spiritual energy into the shape of a trident, piercing into the body of the essence blood.

"Shriek!" A loud piercing sound erupted from within the essence blood, signs of it having its own form of consciousness. The essence blood finally lost control of itself and submitted to the spiritual energy in Kael's body.

It was strange that with its spirituality, it allowed Kael to roll itself on its palm. However, when it was truly threatened, the essence blood still managed to put up such a huge resistance. Thankfully, the process was smooth with no hiccups.

Next, it was time to assimilate the essence blood into his aurasea. Kael used his spiritual energy to wrap around the now 'dead' and inert essence blood, transporting it into his own aurasea. If the essence blood was still 'alive', it would be a very tricky and risky thing to do so for it might wreck havoc within the aurasea. However now that it had lost its own spirituality and consciousness, it wasn't a dangerous thing to do so.

The essence blood entered into Kael's aurasea. "Tremble!" The aurasea shuddered and gave off waves and waves of spiritual tremor. This was a sign that the aurasea was experiencing a qualitative change. The tremor lasted for a few minutes before subsiding. The aurasea, which was originally milky white, now had a slight blue hue to it.

Kael tried circulating the spiritual energy through his meridians and body. The effects were instantaneous and obvious. Kael felt that his body was being washed and strengthened by this new spiritual energy that was imbued with the power of the Drow's essence blood. It caused his body's physical strength to grow gradually and his meridians and internal organs were growing tougher as well.

Kael was satisfied. Next was to buy Heaven and Earth treasures to feed himself and his pet Drakes.
