63 Prediction Orb

The second part of the match was the determining factor. Both sides had to make sure that the replica they were drawing with spiritual energy was dense enough to cancel out the weight of the original object on the weighing scale.

This meant that the control of spiritual energy was down to the miniscule level. In the event the opponent produces a heavy object, Kael had to pack as much spiritual energy into the least amount of possible space.

As Kael was sorting out his thoughts, Darth Wilkes continued speaking. "Each of us are only allowed to use spiritual energy to 'feel' the opponent's object. We can't weigh the object using our hands, if not it makes this challenge obsolete."

Kael nodded. "Makes sense to me." This was granted, considering how it was a challenge on control of spiritual energy. The additional challenge of using spiritual energy to feel out the properties of the said object was a given.

"Then let us begin. Both of you have one minute to produce an object for the opponent to replicate. Then after that, you have 15 minutes to create a replica for the object." Wallie Dawson spoke out and began counting down using the hourglass once again.

Kael mused. Obviously Darth Wilkes had long thought of the object he was going to use. Kael was put at a disadvantage here, however Wallie Dawson could do nothing about it as he had to appear 'fair' at this moment of time.

Finally, Kael decided to bring out the one of the two items that were worthy of possession in his item bag.

The Ice Artifice made its appearance known and immediately, the crowd started murmuring.

"What object is that? It is exuding cold energy!"

"Ignorant lad. That is an Ice Artifice. This Kael is really not simple. Not any Commoner Rank cultivator can bring out a precious item like this."

"Oh I see. I wonder what Darth Wilkes is going to take out to compete with this Ice Artifice."

As everyone was now focusing on Darth Wilkes, his ego felt a little bit better. Finally he had a little limelight.

Smirking slightly, Darth Wilkes took out his object from an item bag.

"Shing!" A dazzling brilliance erupted in the room. Everyone's eyes were blinded by the light that suddenly appeared from the object.

After the light rays died down, everyone could clearly see the object that was in Darth Wilkes' hands.

It was a minute globe, with the engraving of a dragon and a phoenix on it. That in itself was nothing special. However, the dragon and phoenix were as if they were alive, swimming all around the globe and coiling themselves against each other at times.

"Heavens! That is a Prediction Orb!"

"What the ****! A Prediction Orb! He took out the signature treasure of Cloverleigh City!"

"The City Lord actually doted on his son so much that he was willing to lend his son the Prediction Orb?"

The crowd went crazy over the appearance of the Prediction Orb, while Darth Wilkes was feeling smug on the inside over all the commotion.

"Hmph. Let me see how are you even able to replicate this thing." Darth Wilkes thought silently and smirked. For the purpose of this challenge, he had pleaded with his father repeatedly before he could lay his hands on this. With the Prediction Orb, he could win Kael and make his name resound in the whole of the Myriad Lower Region. Thinking about this caused Darth Wilkes to feel a lot better on the inside.

Kael frowned slightly. He obviously knew what a Prediction Orb was. Formed from the blood essences of a true dragon and a true phoenix, when the dragon emits a green glow on its body, it meant that there was an impending danger. Whenever the phoenix emits a red glow on its body, it meant that there was a lucky blessing coming.

This was the reason the Prediction Orb was given its name.

Kael knew that this was a thorny situation. That was because while it was easy for him to replicate the superficial features of the Prediction Orb, it was nigh impossible to replicate the blood essences of the true dragon and phoenix, which meant that the replica wouldn't be able to emit a green and red glow respectively.

If the rules of the game were restricted to copying the superficial features, that wouldn't be a problem. However, Kael didn't think of this problem before he saw it, so he was very sure that if he objected now, the judges from Anchorage City, Cloverleigh City and Hailford City would oppose the idea and emphasize on replicating the true nature of the object itself.

Kael realized that this was an elaborate trap set up for him. He now felt a tinge of pressure building upon him. Nonetheless, his composure showed and he merely nodded his head.

"This is bad. The odds are stacked against Kael. Sigh. We can only hope for the best now." Wallie Dawson thought to himself as he initiated the match by turning the hourglass over.

Both parties immediately began to observe their opponents' objects within the one minute timeframe.

This time around, Kael didn't dare to slacken like how he did against Adolf Gary. Instead, he was putting all his attention into capturing the details of the Prediction Orb in front of him. While the globe itself was nothing special, Kael took care to take note of every scale on the dragon and every feather of the phoenix.

Truly, the devil was in the details. However, it wasn't a big problem for Kael. That was because he was used to inscribing details of patterns and runes on Spirit Arrays. The match this time was on the topic of spiritual energy control, however the nature of the match wasn't too far off from creating Spirit Arrays, in the sense that Kael still had to use spiritual energy to materialize something.

The one minute passed very quickly. "One minute is up. The both of you can begin creating the replica!" Wallie Dawson declared.
