27 Lesson

There were no hiccups when proposing this business plan to Richard Duran. Firstly, it was because of the City Lord's good impression of Kael ever since he led the expedition members to the Whitemoon Mines. Secondly, this deal was too good to be true. Even a layman like Richard Duran who didn't know a thing about forging would know that a Common Rank Item which could be way superior to other items of the same rank was valuable to the cultivator at all cost.

When such a weapon was soul-bound to the user, the cultivator only needed to inject his spiritual energy into the weapon to make his attack power increase by several fold! It wouldn't even be a problem to jump rank and face opponents that were higher ranked than them!

For example, a Commoner Rank Lower Phase cultivator with a weapon forged using Spirit Arrays, could compete head on with a Commoner Rank Middle Phase demonic beast in a one to one fight.

Richard Duran clearly knew what this signified. It meant that he could bolster his own forces, increasing their fighting capacities to a whole new level. A stronger army meant that the city's defenses would be stronger, and they would be able to defend against enemy attacks or beast horde tides with greater ease and efficiency.

His relationship with the other City Lords from other cities in this neighboring region of the Myriad Domain would greatly increase as well. Trade would definitely flourish, as the cities would try to curry favor with Fledgling City to get more of these weapons to equip their armies and elites with.

Myriad Domain was divided into three regions; the Myriad Lower Region, Myriad Middle Region and Myriad Upper Region. Fledgling City was located in the Myriad Lower Region, where the Black Heart Forest covered about 30% of the region. There were neighboring cities surrounding the forest, such as Fairview City, where the Darram trio came from.

There were trade routes established between cities, which involved trekking through the Outer Region of the Black Heart Forest. The caravans had to be guarded by cultivators of the Commoner Rank Lower Phase at the very least to ensure the safety of the goods transported.

Richard Duran didn't want to take the risk of having these precious weapons and armors being stolen by groups of bandits. Hence, he decided to send his personal elites once the goods were ready.

The next morning in the tavern where Kael was staying.

When Kael walked down the stairs, the crowd of 24 blacksmiths and apprentices was already waiting. Their hearts were filled with expectancy as they looked at Kael walking down. Though they didn't dare to rush Kael with words, their expressions had betrayed them.

"Master Kael, would you like to eat breakfast first before we start?"

"Mm. Just a bun will do."

The crowd immediately caused a ruckus, rushing to be the first one to get a bun for Kael.

"Innkeeper! Buns! Do you have buns?! Get 10 of it here right now!"

Kael found this comical, but he didn't stop them. They must be anxious to get into his good boots now.

After the bun was finally in Kael's hands, he chewed on it as he led the entourage towards the City Lord's residence. The common people of Fledgling City still didn't know what was happening as news of this forging technique was only circulated within the blacksmith community. Hence they were curious as to why Kael was leading such a large group of people to walk around in the city.

"Is Kael on an expedition again?"

"Doesn't look like it. The direction he is heading towards is not the Black Heart Forest, but the City Lord faction instead."

At the City Lord's residence entrance, the group passed through the checkpoints with ease. That was because though they were a large group, the guards were already informed beforehand of Kael arriving with a group of blacksmiths. In one corner of the residence, there was a spacious house. It was one of the best forging rooms in the City Lord faction.

Inside the house, there were three people waiting. One was Richard Duran, while the other two looked unfamiliar.

After the introduction, Kael came to realize they were blacksmiths directly under Richard Duran. Their skills were not as good as Wayland the Smith, which was why he was hired to forge an axe for the City Lord using the Whitemoon Stones. However, they were sufficient in producing weapons for the City Lord forces.

These two blacksmiths had signed the blood contract with Richard Duran a long time ago, hence there was no issue with them learning the forging technique. With that, the class ballooned to 26 people.

Kael chose the City Lord's residence to conduct the class because there was privacy and there was no risk of people eavesdropping and learning the technique in secret. In here, he could teach to his heart's content without worrying about third parties trying to benefit in the secret.

After everything was in place, the class started, with Richard Duran observing the class from behind in the forging room.

"Everyone knows that forging cultivators' items required Heaven and Earth treasures. However, this can be circumvented using Spirit Arrays to transmit properties, offensive or defensive in nature, to the weapons. Special properties like poison, lightning, ice, fire etc have to be transmitted using special Spirit Arrays. Today, I'll just focus on the basics; how to create a simple offensive Spirit Array. Watch me…"

Kael summoned spiritual energy into his fingers as he started drawing a mini Spirit Array on a saber. The Spirit Array gave a golden glow which vanished shortly after, imprinting itself on the saber.

"That is an offensive Spirit Array. Depending on the size of the weapon, you need more than 10-15 of them to be placed in all parts of the weapon. This is the spiritual pattern of the Spirit Array. Before inscribing the Spirit Array however, you need to thoroughly hammer the items using your spiritual energy. This is to temper the crafted item and making it more receptive to the effects of the Spirit Arrays, letting them absorb the properties the Spirit Array is transmitting. Now try it yourselves…"

The crowd immediately started to memorize the spiritual pattern of the Spirit Array and started tempering and inscribing it on their weapons.
