30 Instinct

Due to his ambitions, Kael saw a pressing need to have access to greater quality cultivation resources. This made him want to enroll into the Myriad Fledgling Institute even more.

Kael thought that the business plan he rolled out should have some effects by now. Hence, upon packing up his things, he didn't delay and exited his closed door seclusion.

Upon reaching the Fledgling City entrance, he was greeted with a difference scene. There were much more travelers than usual queuing outside, waiting to clear the checkpoints and enter the city. After entering the city, he realized that all the streets were bustling with activities.

The city square was the most exaggerated place. There were sales representatives from the City Lord faction engaging with throngs of people. Cultivators were seen haggling prices with the sales representatives, and there were others that kept ordering in bulk.

"1000 gold coins for one weapon? Are you kidding me? That is so expensive! I can buy 10 Common Rank items with that!"

"It can't be helped sir. There is more demand than supply. Furthermore, these weapons and armors have an effect similar to Uncommon Rank Items. The premium on the goods is well justified. Besides, such a price is cheaper than other Uncommon Rank Items that you can find out in the market."

"Ah fine. Take my money! I want one set of weapon and armor!"

Naturally, all this fuss was about the new weapons and armors that Fledgling City had produced.

Ever since the first shipment of goods was transported to the five neighboring cities, it had created an uproar in the Myriad Lower Region. Travelers from afar got wind of this news and rushed into the five cities to purchase the goods. However, it was all used to equip the cities' armies, leaving none for the normal cultivators.

The normal cultivators thus naturally flocked to the source and origin of these newly invented items; Fledgling City. All of them hoped to purchase one set of these weapons and armors, equipping themselves with the strength of a Herald Rank cultivator when they were only at the Commoner Rank level.

Kael looked at the hustle and bustle of the city and he nodded in agreement. This was exactly the effect that he wanted. He wanted the city to be prosperous and be in the limelight in the Myriad Lower Region. In this way, he would be able to get what he wanted.

An elite of the City Lord faction who went to the Whitemoon Mine expedition noticed Kael and he went forward.

"Young Master Kael. Are you perhaps looking for the City Lord? He is waiting in his residence."

"Mm. I'll go pay him a visit."

At the City Lord residence, Richard Duran was pouring cup after cup of wine and forcing Kael to drink.

"Come! Let's celebrate this significant milestone in Fledgling City! Cheers!"

Richard Duran was very obviously elated. The neighboring cities had shown great favor to him by sending in expensive gifts, wanting to establish a cordial relationship with Fledgling City. This was more than just payment for the goods; this was diplomacy at its very core. The balance of powers in the Black Heart Forest region had shifted towards Fledgling City right now.

"Oh right, before I forget this important matter. Here's 200,000 gold from the first shipment of goods to the neighboring cities. I surmise that we will earn much more now than cultivators are knocking on our doors!"

Kael transferred the money into his item bag and said, "City Lord, I believe the process had been put into place. Money will continuously roll in. Even other cities in the Myriad Lower Region that are far away will also make a trip here to buy the products after confirming the veracity of the goods. Business is booming for Fledgling City."

"That's right. Kael, I know where you are getting at. Don't worry, over the past few days, I have dispatched men to send the goods news of the city to the management in the Myriad Fledgling Institute. Of course, they even know who the main contributor to this success is! So don't worry,

I believe there will be news soon."

"Mm."

The duo continued chatting about the business and the development of the city. Richard Duran was thoroughly impressed with Kael's insights into the political, social and economic matters of the city. He realized Kael was more than just knowledgeable in the path of cultivation, he also had an acute political sense and a heart of compassion for the normal people.

To Richard Duran, this man was a rarely seen talent that couldn't have been produced in the entirety of the Myriad Domain. His breadth and depth of vision had exceeded the constraints of this realm. Even the City Lord himself had gained insights into governance just by chatting with Kael.

As such, one question kept ringing in his mind, "Why is Kael so adamant about entering the Institute when he could've set his sights higher, entering into one of the academies in the Myriad Upper Region? He could even pass the entry exams to the Five Great Academies!"

Kael seemed to have noticed Richard Duran's thoughts through the conversation, thus he replied, "City Lord, do you believe in the instincts of a cultivator?"

"Aha. I guess you have seen through me. Yes, I do. In fact, the higher the cultivation of a person is, the stronger his instincts are. But, how is it relevant here?"

"Well, I believe in my own instincts too. Maybe I could've gone higher now, however the correct step to take now is to enter the Myriad Fledgling Institute. My instincts tell me that it's a necessary step in order for me to take flight in my cultivation in the future!"

Richard Duran was stunned for a brief moment before he calmly collected himself. "I didn't expect for a Commoner Rank cultivator to rely on his instincts. It must be said that you are extraordinary indeed. Very well, this toast is for you. I wish you success in the Institute and that your cultivation will increase by leaps and bounds!"

The two toasted each other and drank the night away…
