72 Fortune

"So that's what the species and classes are all about! To think that I've never discovered that function and only thought that the more powerful the units are, the higher the chances of success!" Fred Palpatine exclaimed. Clearly, he wasn't in the mood to be upset about the loss, rather he seemed excited about discovering something more about Auto-Chess.

Kael nodded. "Auto-Chess is a plaything for aristocrats and noble families from powerful factions in the Hundred Realms. You are quite fortunate to possess even a watered down version of the real deal."

"Really? How do you know that?"

"From my master. He taught me the basics of this game as well."

"I see. Then did he tell you about the characters in the chess pieces?"

"Yup. Auto-Chess is replicated after real life heroes and characters. Take the Lina for example. She is an extremely powerful Fire Mage that possesses fire and lightning attribute Magic Arts. Of course, there are followers who have learnt skills from her as well. As for the others, they are real beings as well."

"Then the Shadowfiend… is there really such a powerful being in existence?" The representative from Hailford City asked.

"Yes. I know one of them, by the name of Nevermore. The Shadowfiend collects souls to boost their own power. He is a terrible evil existence and is nearly unrivalled in the Hundred Realms."

The crowd sucked in a deep breath of cool air.

"Then these so called buffs from Species and Classes in Auto-Chess… are they applicable in real life?" Fred Palpatine asked.

"Nope. These are merely strategic functions of the game. However the Spirit Arts and Magic Arts are carefully replicated. So it gives you an idea of how powerful these beings are."

"Sigh, us at the Myriad Lower Region are really frogs at the bottom of the well. The world is so vast with so many non-human characters, yet we've never seen them before." Wallow Dawson lamented.

"Vice-Principal, that's actually a blessing in disguise. Over here, the only thing we have to worry about is the demonic beast horde and it's something the region can manage. In other parts of the Hundred Realms, the existence of powerful beings had led to countless massacres and chaos. It truly is a living hell."

"I suppose so…"

Sensing the closure of the conversation over this topic, Fred Palpatine continued. "It truly is an eye-opener for me today. It's my loss, but I felt like I have won, because I had gained additional knowledge and have a window to peer into the vastness of this world through this Auto-Chess mechanism. Thank you Kael."

"You're welcome. Vice-Principal, I suppose the challenges today have come to an end?"

Wallie Dawson quickly caught on. "Indeed. Fellow representatives from all the five cities, today's challenges have ended and as per our agreement, all cities will bring cultivators to aid in the production of the hybrid cores. This is for the sale and safety of the Myriad Lower Region as a whole.

I thank all who participated in today's events, and also for opening our visions and sights in a whole new perspective. With that, I would like to invite all guests to rest in the guesthouse within the City Lord residence before we proceed further tomorrow."

The various representatives and future City Lords nodded in agreement. At this juncture, Adolf Gary and Darth Wilkes were more or less feeling settled. After seeing how Kael had defeated all of them almost effortlessly, they felt that it was no shame to lose to such a monster who was not only proficient in Spirit Arrays, spiritual energy control, he also had vast knowledge of the world beyond the Hundred Realms.

After a few pleasantries here and there to conclude today's affairs, the group rested for the night.

Night time in the meeting room, Wallie Dawson, Richard Duran and Kael were gathered together.

"Kael, you never fail to impress me." Wallie Dawson started off the conversation by saying that.

"You flatter me, Vice-Principal. Luck had a huge role to play in today's turn of events."

"Haha don't be modest Kael. One can be lucky for one or two times, but repeated performances is no way attributed to luck. From the Whitemoon Mines to the forging business to the demonic beast horde to today's challenges… you have clearly exemplified what a young genius should be like." Richard Duran praised Kael.

"The City Lord is right. What are your plans now Kael? The Myriad Fledgling Institute is too small a place for you to be in. Someone of your caliber should go to the Myriad Upper Region to excavate your talents."

"I do intend to head there eventually. However, I need to make a pit stop over at the Institute. My intuition tells me that there is something awaiting for me in the school grounds."

Only experts at a high cultivation level will speak of relying on their instincts instead of just relying on sight. To walk by faith and not by sight is a hallmark of a true expert. However, this concept seemed a bit distant to both Wallie Dawson and Richard Duran, who were both at the Herald Rank.

Kael was the famed Invoker. Naturally he had honed his instincts to a frightening level. Even though he was reborn, only his cultivation level was lost. His consciousness and instincts were still with him.

"Alright, as you wish. Looks like normal people like us can't fathom the thoughts of a young genius like you. After we settle the issue of the hybrid cores tomorrow, I will personally fetch you into the Institute's grounds."

"Thank you Vice Principal. I have another issue to bring up."

"What is it?"

"It's about the Prediction Orb and it's prediction about me. I have a feeling the heaven's blessings and impending disaster are found within the Institute…"

Wallie Dawson recalled the incident where both the phoenix and dragon emitted deep glows of color when Kael's spiritual energy was sucked into the Prediction Orb.

"If something so fortuitous is to happen, then it can only be that place. Still, it's not within my authority to reveal the secrets of the Institute. Maybe you will have the fortune to meet the Principal and he will guide you through this path that you are meant to take…" Wallie Dawson sighed.
