57 Fishy Part

Like the previous time when Wallie Dawson injected spiritual energy into the monster core, the two monster cores in front of Kael started rotating and emitting white plumes of smoke. After about 30 seconds, the monster cores stopped rotating and was shimmering with a slightly bluish hue.

The color was due to the nature of the spiritual energy used. Kael's spiritual energy contained elements of cold energy, hence the color reflected was slightly bluish.

As expected by Kael, the creation of the hybrid cores was a success! However, these hybrid cores were lacking because of the cultivation level of Kael. The sentient demonic beasts of Guardian Rank would only be interested in cultivating using the hybrid cores produced by Herald Rank cultivators and above.

Nonetheless, it was a good sample which Kael could use to show Wallie Dawson and Richard Duran.

There was still one more day before Wallie Dawson would visit the City Lord residence. Hence, Kael took the additional day to allow the baby Black Line Drakes to cultivate under the nourishment of the Ice Artifice. He also managed to get additional monster cores which were retrieved from the demonic beast horde to create hybrid cores which the Black Line Drakes could feed on to increase their strength.

The Black Line Drakes, if groomed properly, could advance in cultivation and aid Kael greatly in the future when he travels to other parts of the Hundred Realms. Kael was keenly aware of this fact, hence he always had a mind to cultivate and train the Black Line Drakes whenever he had additional time to spare.

Kael also had to rank up the Doubling Monster Core in his possession. As of now, it was able to produce monster cores that were of the Commoner Rank Middle Phase. However, Kael had insufficient highly ranked items that could rank up the Doubling Monster Core. The monster cores he had were fed to the Black Line Drakes and they were too low of a level to rank up the Doubling Monster Core. Hence, this was a task which he had kept in view at the back of his head.

The next day, Kael exited the spacious hall and went to the meeting room in the City Lord residence. Wallie Dawson and Richard Duran were already waiting there for him.

Wallie Dawon approached Kael with a smile, "So how was it?"

"I bring good news. The Spirit Convergence Array is stable. Here are two samples which you can use to show the other cities' leaders."

Wallie Dawson took the hybrid cores from Kael's hands and observed it.

"Mm. It's indeed a hybrid core, just that the spiritual energy emitted from it is a bit lacking."

"Of course. I'm merely at the Commoner Rank Middle Phase. My spiritual energy thus can't produce a hybrid core that is of your level."

The trio laughed.

"Alright. I think the matter of the demonic beast horde can come to a conclusion soon. The safety of the cities is also something to be resolved. Kael, wait here for a week while I go to the other cities to negotiate with them.

Once the negotiation is done, an ecosystem will be created, where lower ranked cultivators will hunt for demonic beasts in the Black Heart Forest, while higher ranked cultivators are in charge of creating the hybrid monster cores. Next, even higher ranked cultivators like myself will deliver the hybrid cores into the Core Region of the Black Heart Forest. I suppose peace can be maintained with this ecosystem."

"Definitely. I look forward to that." Kael nodded.

"And after that, I suppose it's time to admit you into the Institute." Wallie Dawson grinned.

"Haha. I certainly look forward to that as well." Kael jested.

"..."

A week later.

Wallie Dawson returned to Fledgling City with an entourage of men. At the City Lord residence, everyone from the entourage were seated in a neat manner around the meeting table that was specially arranged for them.

Kael was cultivating in the spacious hall where the Spirit Convergence Array was located when Patten Eagle disrupted him from his meditative state.

"Oh? The representatives from the other cities are here and the Vice-Principal wants me to be there?"

"Yes." Patten Eagle replied affirmatively.

"I'll go take a look then."

When Kael entered the meeting room, he detected a strange atmosphere. This strange feeling wasn't based on facts, but on his instincts, which had never failed him as of yet. He felt that something was off about this meeting, yet he couldn't quite pinpoint what was it since he hadn't found out about the results of the trip that Wallie Dawson made to the other cities.

Still, the fact that the cities had sent their representatives to Fledgling City meant that the cities were willing to negotiate. That alone was a good start.

"Kael, since you are here, let me introduce you to the representatives from the other cities. From Fairview City, this is…" Wallie Dawson began to make the introductions to the representatives. Some of them appeared respectful and nodded their heads, while there were a few, especially the youths, who were arrogant and merely dismissed Kael when they were introduced.

It was Kael's first time interacting with people outside of Fledgling City, apart from the Darram trio brothers whom he had met in the Black Heart Forest. The impression that the youths gave him wasn't a good one.

After the introductions were done, Wallie Dawson spoke again. "After hearing Fledgling City's proposal, the other cities are receptive of the idea of creating hybrid cores in exchange for peace from the demonic beast invasion into their cities. In fact, they are more than willing to cooperate. However…"

"However? What's up?" Kael was slightly puzzled.

"This time around, they are making this trip not just to send their goodwill with regards to the hybrid core issue. They also sent the elites of their younger generation, hoping to exchange pointers with you. They hope that there will be a greater understanding between the younger generation in the Myriad Lower Region."

Kael frowned. So this was the fishy part to this meeting.
