20 Edge over the Drake

As the Black Line Drake flew towards the egg thrown into the corner of the cave, it managed to use its tongue to wrap around the egg. However, due to it flying at a super fast speed, it couldn't stop in time and crashed towards the cave walls.

"Boom!" The walls shuddered heavily and there was a deep rumbling sound.

By this time, the huge tornado was already going to hit Kael. It was then that Kael executed Spirit Step to nullify the rotation of the tornado. Due to its size, however, it took Kael a longer time before the tornado disappeared into the air.

Within a span of these few seconds, the Drake recovered. The egg was on its tongue and it couldn't keep it in its mouth, for its saliva contained corrosive properties that would eat away at the egg. It was extremely furious that this puny human actually dared to harm its poor offsprings.

The next thing that happened angered the Drake even more. In front of the nest, Kael took the remaining five eggs and placed them inside his item bag. Now, there was only the two Ice Artifices remaining.

Seeing its eggs disappear, the Black Line Drake saw red. Its eyes became bloodshot and it roared a draconic roar. Due to the dome shape of the cave, the echoes were extremely alarming, causing the eardrums of the four men team to nearly burst.

The Drake then flew towards Kael. Knowing that its Spirit Arts were ineffective against this human, the Drake wanted to engage in physical combat. Its powerful hind legs came smashing towards Kael.

Kael evaded the legs of the Drake using Spirit Step and shouted to the trio, "Keep it under fire suppression!"

The trio immediately recovered from the shock of having witnessed Kael's actions. They then started firing off spiritual bullets using their Spirit Arts. The triple combo of concussive shots, bullets barrage and precise shots managed to delay the Drake for a mere second. Since this Drake was significantly stronger than the previous Drake, the Darram brothers could only hold it for that long.

However, that one second was enough. As the Drake shook free from the effects of the trio's Spirit Arts, Kael suddenly appeared like a ghost right in front of its eyes. He then channeled magic energy into the sword as he stabbed it right into one of the Drake's eyes!

The Drake instinctively closed its eyes to deflect the attack. Its scaly eyelids were as tough as steel as the sword produced a "Clang!" sound as the weapon clashed with the steel-like defense of the Drake. It then swiped at Kael using its forelegs' claws. The claws made contact with Kael and Kael spurted out blood.

"Kael! Oh my god!"

The trio thought that Kael was dead after that attack. To everyone's surprise, the injured 'Kael' then disappeared like a puff of smoke.

Suddenly, a deep bright yellow light shone from the earth upwards, covering the Drake's entire body. Kael was standing on the edge of the yellow light, calmly looking at the Drake.

The Darram trio was relieved that Kael wasn't dead, however it didn't mean that things were going to be smooth sailing. As they watched the yellow light disappear after a few seconds, they realized that the Drake seemed unaffected by it.

"What was that yellow light?"

"It must be Kael. However, I don't see any damage dealt to the Drake."

"Kael, what's going on?"

Kael sniggered. Now that his aurasea had expanded, he was actually able to use a Spirit Art: Doppelganger, to create an image of himself. He used that Doppelganger to distract the Drake while he made use of that confusion to draw a Spirit Array on the ground using his spiritual energy.

Now that the Yellow Light Array had shone over the Black Line Drake, Kael was confident that the Drake would now fall. He shouted to the trio, "It's time to do your thing again!"

"But it doesn't work!" Darren Shorthand exclaimed.

"It does now! Just do it!!" Kael was going to go mad because of that retard.

"Alright, we will try it again. Brothers, let's do this!"

The Drake snarled and was about to swipe at Kael again. However, the trio shot off their bullets using their Spirit Arts. This time around, the effects were noticeable. The barrage of bullets pierced through the thick scales of the Drake and penetrated into its flesh. The concussive shots crippled the Drake's hind legs. The precision bullets made its way into the Drake's eyes, causing it to go blind.

In an instant, the Drake was put into a severe disadvantage. The trio didn't know what happened exactly, but they were glad that their suppression worked.

The Drake screamed in agony, much like its counterpart in the entrance of the cave. However, it was bleeding out and was unable to offer any ounce of resistance towards the invaders as it became blind. Its wings were riddled with holes and it was unable to conjure any tornadoes, and its tongue was holding onto one of the eggs so it couldn't shoot off icicles recklessly as well.

The regenerative powers of the dragon bloodline was strong, meaning the Drake could recover given time. However, time was not on its side, as Kael and the trio went towards the nest to take a look at the Ice Artifices.

"Why did you take the eggs and not the Ice Artifices just now when you had the chance?"

"It was to anger the Drake and make it lose its rationality. Besides, we can't just take the Ice Artifices. Though it's a Common Rank Item, its unique properties meant that we have to cover it with a mini Spirit Array before we can seal it in our item bags."

"Ohh… so what do we do now? Do you know how to draw the Spirit Array?"

"Of course I do, if not I wouldn't be explaining this to you guys." Kael rolled his eyes again.

"Then let's do it fast. I can't wait to get out of this hell-hole…"

"Alright. Watch me." Kael began drawing tiny spiritual inscriptions around the two crystal diamonds that were exuding cold energy. Slowly, the energy was being suppressed by the mini Spirit Array and kept in a dormant state. In this way, the item bags wouldn't reject the Ice Artifices due to its special Ice attribute.

Kael took one of it, while the trio stored another of it in Darram Longhand's item bag.
