2 Chapter 2: Visiting the Moon Good Temple

"Finally! I'll start my training tomorrow!" A cute childish voice sounded.

"Enough Miya. Go to sleep now!" A strict voice sounded from a man. "Fine, Father" Miya said.

The sun slowly rose from the east. A new day is starting. "Miya! Wake up now, child." Harnie called for Miya. "Hurry up and eat your breakfast. After you finished eating, we will visit the Moon God Temple. We'll start your training in the afternoon."

As they ate their breakfast, Miya suddenly said, "Mom, what's so important about the Moon God Temple?"

"Since you are old enough to know, I'll tell you. We, Moon Elves, are quite a rare race in the continent of Dawn. We are called Moon Elves because our lineage contains a bit of the blood of the Moon God. We are naturally talented in archery and simple magic. Our first ancestor, the Moon God, built our village deep within this forest and built a Moon God Temple on top of the mountain near our village. The temple is the place where we send our prayers to the Moon God. In return, the Moon God will bless our land. Every ten years, the Moon God will bless the youths of our village, determining their talent, whether it is on archery or magic, in rare cases, both or none at all. Those with talent will be trained in advance techniques of our tribe and those who do not have any talent, will become a servant in Temple and slowly learn the basic skills of our tribe. Sometimes, there are servants who are talented but late bloomers, therefore, if they showed a hint of talent, they will immediately be sent to be trained the advanced techniques of the tribe. That's why we will first visit the Moon God Temple before starting your training."

Miya listened intently on the words of her mother. "Mother, Father, what if I, if I don't have any talent at all? What will I do? I want to train to be a great archer who uses magic! A Magic Archer! When I'm strong enough, I will fend off the army of the orcs and humans and protect our forest!"

Both Wage and Harnie were filled with happiness from their daughter's words. Wage said, "Don't worry my child. Talent is one thing, Hardwork is another thing! Even if you don't have any talent at all, you have us! We will train you. I am an archer and your mother is a mage! I'm sure you will be a great magic archer when you grow up!"

"Mn. Thanks Mother, Father." Miya nodded.

"Now, now, hurry up and finish eating so that we will go to the temple. Today is the the day where the Moon God assesses the talents of the youths. We shouldn't be late!" Harnie said.

And so, after they finished eating they started walking towards the temple. Right now, the temple have many moon elves. Today is the day for assessment, naturally, it was filled with elven youths and adults. The temple is 30 meter tall build made of seemingly ordinary stones. But in truth, it is made of moon stone. It is seemingly ordinary in the morning, but at night, it will glow. It is also a very tough stone and a very rare substance in the outside word.

The temple is bustling. As of now, it has hundreds of youths and adults in the temple.

"Silence, everyone, in a bit, the assessment will start. Line up your children." The Village Chief appeared and said these words.

Hundreds of youths hurriedly formed a line. "Children of the Moon, listen up. This assessment consist of two stages. First, we will test the shape of your soul. Those with bow-shaped soul will go the Archery Squad and train there. Those with book-shaped soul will go to Support Squad and study magic. Those with crescent shaped soul will go to the Special Squad and train to be a magic archer. And finally, those who have soul form of orb or irregular shape, will be a servant of the Moon God Temple. Once you show talent in either magic or archery, you will immediately be transferred." The Village Chief explained.
