1 Chapter 1: The Start

I was sitting in my office, sipping a cup of tea. Really, I was in my office, not working. It was very difficult for me! A workaholic by nature and an angel of ethics, I was not supposed to sit idly. I was supposed to check a file and upload it. It had been done a week ago. The deadline was today. I had done it a week ago. I could not really think of anything to do. I did not even have the means to do anything else. I did not know what to do! Just sit in my office, a place of work, and not work?

Just when I was facing that moral dilemma, of not working at a place of work, my boss barged in and saw me with a cup of coffee staring at the screen of my computer. It was not switched on. Of course, I would not waste electricity. However, my boss barging in while I was not working was funny really. Because I knew what he would think. He would give me more responsibilities. He would burden me with work because I was the only one doing it. Quickly. Others were also working, but they were slower. I knew it and my boss knew it. He would want to take advantage of that.

As soon as I saw him, and he entered and sat on one of the couches in my office, he rubbed his shiny forehead. He was sweating badly. He sat down and took a deep breath. He looked at me, and closed his eyes, as if he was stressed. I wasn't much interested in what annoyed him. I knew it wasn't me. I knew that because at that time of stress he had come into my office. He did not summon me. He wanted my help. His forehead became more and sweatier as time passed. I stood up and he signalled me to sit down. He did not utter a single word. He just sat down resting his spine on my couch and repeatedly rubbing his forehead. Sometimes, he looked up and muttered a small prayer. But he did not start the conversation.
