End

Theraff screamed and lunged at Valentine as he transformed into his werewolf form mid air. He stretched out his claws in anger and desperation; everything Valentine had done and taken from him flowed through him making him berserk with anger. Killing the Master Vampire was all that mattered now. Valentine's red eyes just looked coldly at him. For a moment, Theraff thought he was gonna get him, but on the very last second, Valentine dodged and Theraff flew off uncontrollably.

"You're weak for a Silverback." observed Valentine as he walked calmly towards Theraff. The werewolf spun around in madness, his eyes green and deranged. With a roar he shot toward Valentine again, but again, Valentine dodged at the last second.

"Weak." repeated Valentine. Theraff attacked again...and again and again, yet Valentine always dodged with barely any effort. The village continued to burn and the pack was getting killed off by the cold-blooded vampires. Theraff screamed in frustration. Is there anything I can do!?

"You're gonna die!" screamed Theraff at Valentine from a distant. "I'll kill you!"

Valentine looked at the silverback for a second, then burst into a laugh. The inhuman laughter rung all around the village, driving the werewolves into even more fear as they tried to run, hide, or fight.

"I don't think so." said Valentine, suddenly snapping out of his laugh. "Let me show you what true power is like." Saying so he suddenly disappeared. Before Theraff could react Valentine appeared right in front of him. The silverback froze in shock; the difference in their speeds was astronomical.

Theraff tried to jump back, but Valentine already slashed him across the torso with his nails. Blood gushed out of his furry body and he fell back from the force. Valentine smiled hungrily. "You're gonna pay for what you did to my kind, wolf." And again Valentine disappeared with such speed that Theraff couldn't keep up.

Valentine appeared again and slashed him again. However, this time, he didn't stop at one, he kept going on; Theraff couldn't even scream. The sheer savagery with which Valentine was attacking him with left no room to react whatsoever. He felt stabs of pain after pain with each attack. Theraff wondered for a second if there was some kind of poison in Valentine's nails. Soon however, he didn't care about that. Nothing mattered any more. The pain was fading now; he could still see Valentine wildly slashing away at his body...he thought he even saw his own hand got cut off...but nothing mattered. Everything was disappearing...all his worries...all his pain. He saw Valentine's last blow coming; he didn't even lift a finger to defend himself. Wennrietta....

Valentine stood there with the huge, decapitated silverback werewolf's head in his hands. Pathetic till the end. The screams and fires still roared around him, but he knew they would die out very soon. He'd taken his revenge on the guy who had started it all. Valentine closed his eyes for a second and just savored the little breeze in the air. Suddenly, he snapped out of it. He'd sensed him. He looked behind him and saw him.

The lean Arch Silverback was almost at the village gates. He was dragging an older female werewolf by her hand and she dragged two little twin girls with her. As Valentine looked, the Arch Silverback dodged a vampire's attack and ripped him in two before he could react. Valentine smiled.

In an instant he turned into a black smoke and gushed over towards the fleeing werewolf family. As Valentine stretched out his hand from the smoke to attack the Arch Silverback, he turned around just in time and tried to hit Valentine. The master vampire manged to dodge and he came to a skidding stop in between the family and the village gates.

All Luim saw Valentine's boots skidding across the ground as he emerged from the black smoke with his back to him. Luim's heart dropped. He'd personally come to deal with him. But it doesn't matter. I can buy them time. "Go!" he screamed at his mother. Valentine turned around at that second and hungrily looked at the little twins behind her. "Go!" Luim screamed again. This time his mother didn't hesitate. She grabbed the twins and tried to rush past Valentine at the same time Luim lunged at him.

He's good...but not that good. He may one day be though...with the proper molding. Instead of defending the attack against Luim, Valentine lunged at one of the twins. Luim screamed and changed his course to protect her, but Valentine changed his course too. Luim realized it was all a feint but it was too late; he couldn't move in time. Valentine went straight for his mother and as her horrified eyes looked up at the last second, with one motion, her head was off her body.

"Noooo!" screamed Luim. But that moment he'd wasted being emotional, Valentine had moved again. This time he was heading straight for the unprotected twin. Luim jumped to protect her, but again, it was a feint. Valentine sidestepped at the last second and as Luim came to a stop in front of the second twin sister, Valentine had already reached the first. She didn't even realize was going on before she had her head literally blown up with the force of Valentine's fists.

Luim couldn't process it. In the span of less than a second, his mother and one of his sisters was dead. Without even really thinking, he jumped to attack Valentine with a blank mind. This time, Valentine didn't dodge, he held his ground, and suddenly, Luim had the Master Vampire's entire hand punching a hole through his chest. He heard his twin sister scream as he spat blood. His eyes focused and he saw Valentine's red eyes. With force like he'd never experienced before, Valentine threw Luim across the village. He went through three burning huts and hit the village wall; it shattered with the force and he flew out of the village boundary and into a thicket.

As he lay there, his vision blurring, he saw Valentine appear with his unmatchable speed. He was holding his twin sister in the air by her hair. She was screaming but he was unaffected by it. Luim raised a weak hand. I have to protect her...GET UP!

Valentine stared at Luim's outstretched hand and unmoving body for a few moments. He let go of his grip and his sister fell to the floor. Luim's vision was barely working anymore. The last thing he saw as he faded into the black comfort was Valentine turning away as his sister rushed towards him screaming his name....

Everything was gone. Everything. The village he'd once known, his pack...the people he'd loved. Valentine had even taken the memories he had of them. All Sheraff could remember was how his own brother had betrayed him, how the bravest man he knew turned out to be a coward, how the man he'd admired was completely self-serving, how his wife had been unfaithful...how he'd killed her and his own child.

He was on his knees in the burning inferno, defeated and broken. A river of blood ran around him. He couldn't cry, he couldn't scream; all he was now was an empty husk. Suddenly, his eyes focused. He saw Valentine; emerging from the black smoke that seemed to always surround him, his red eyes focused on him.

Those blazing eyes woke him a bit. He looked around; Levet was lying dead, cut in half by the female vampire. Ranfred had had his head smashed into a red pulp. His brother's head lay a little distance away from his burning house, his wife was lying dead exactly where he'd left her, his son was dead, crushed beneath a falling beam. Suddenly, Sheraff realized everything Valentine had said he'd do, he'd done it...except for one last thing.

He shifted his eyes to find Valentine and almost gasped; the vampire was standing right in front him, somehow having teleported right up to him without him even realizing or hearing anything.

Both of them just stared into each other's eyes. All Sheraff could see was a burning purgatory in those jewel like eyes. "Should I end this nightmare?" Valentine asked. Sheraff knew was coming next; he remembered...but he realized, he didn't care. If death would spare me from his grasp, I'll gladly go. No hell, no devil can compare to what he is.

It was like Valentine saw Sheraff coming to this conclusion in his mind, for the Master Vampire almost sneered. He raised his hand. And just as Sheraff closed his eyes, he brought it down with a perfect slice.

Dawn broke through the thick clouds. The bright rays hit the village and the usual gentle breeze blew through. Everything was peaceful. The fires had burned themselves out to leave charred remains behind. There were no bodies left to evidence the supernatural slaughter that had taken place a just a few hours ago. All that remained was bloodstains dotting all over the village. The village was completely empty, save for two figures.

Valentine closed his eyes and savored the air again. He really did love this place; it was quiet and the breeze was one of the most pleasant he'd ever felt on his skin. Sierra walked up behind him and stood a respectful distance away, letting her master enjoy the moment.

Valentine laughed. "I might have a small mansion built here, Sierra." he announced.

Sierra smiled. "You really do love the air around here, don't you, my Lord?"

Valentine grinned, instantly making her heart skip a beat. He stared into her eyes for a second and then walked up to her. He placed his hands on her shoulders. "I'm proud of you, Sierra." he said softly. "You were so great last night. You never, ever cease to amaze me."

Sierra blushed. "It...it was nothing, my Lord." she stammered. "You...expected this from me. I could not disappoint you and lose control again...I just couldn't. I would do anything for you."

Valentine smiled and gently kissed her on the lips. "I know, Lady Voidfire." Saying so, he let go of her and started to walk beside her.

"What next, my Lord?" asked Sierra, trying to change the subject so she wouldn't soil herself from her excitement at being acknowledged by Valentine.

"I'll be heading out." he announced. "Something's come up...something rather important to me. I have to go take care of it."

"I can come with you." suggested Sierra, knowing and dreading the answer.

"No. This is something I have to do alone."

"Will...will you be gone long?"

Valentine smiled at his Elder's purple eyes. "I'm afraid so." Sierra's heart sank.

Valentine placed his hands on her naked shoulders again. "Sierra, I expect I'll be gone longer than I usually do. This...situation...that's come up is rather precious to me and very complicated." Sierra looked into his gentle eyes. "I need you to go back and take care of the Order with the other three Elders. Tell them what I said to you. None of you have to worry, I'll be back soon, but till I do, I need all four of you to be exceptionally alert."

Sierra nodded, his intense gaze letting her know how serious he was being. Her personal feelings of sorrow would have to wait for now.

"Call in all unnecessary Order members back to base and lock it down. There's a chance it can be attacked or an attempt be made to infiltrate it. Send word to all the other Order bases to be alert as well." continued Valentine. "I'm counting on all four of you to take care of things until my return, alright? Can I trust you with that?"

Sierra steeled herself and her eyes blazed purple. "Even death wouldn't stop me from serving you, my Lord. I am honored to have your trust and I will do my best to live up to it, O Great One."

Valentine smiled and nodded in satisfaction. "I am very lucky to have such Elders." he said, looking up at the sky. He turned to Sierra. "Now, go! Go carry out my commands, Lady Voidfire!"

Sierra nodded and knelt down to Valentine for a moment. After an instant, she disappeared with a gush of wind.

"You still have a long way to go, Sierra..." muttered Valentine to the empty air. He turned his gaze towards the town of Barfoss and, he too, disappeared...leaving the small village empty and desolate...
