SNEAK PEEK:

I can feel my chest moving up and down from my breathing. I just run almost a mile to get to the right position before time runs out. I am crouching on the branch that I aimed for. I am sure that the horse carriage with the gold for the duke is going down this road and I hope that my information is not corrupt. I make sure that my mask covering my eyes is tight because if someone should discover that the one that is stealing from the rich, is the Princess of the Kingdom, I can only imagine the repercussions.

Then I see the horse carriage appearing far down the road and I try to remember my training. I have done this probably a thousand times but I still get nervous. I start to count and I know that by the time I get to one, I should jump.

"Five…four…three…two…jump Eve, jump!"

As I jump on the roof of the carriage, I instantly change into the Vigilantly of Teruya who I am better known as. The driver immediately notices me and aims to hit me but I kick him in the face with my boots. Then two other men appear from the side of the carriage. The horses are running wild as the driver is disoriented to control them and this makes balancing on the roof even more difficult.

But this is not my first rodeo. I have done this many times before. I keep my footing and then take out my knife. I grab the driver and put my blade against his throat. Then I whisper in his ear.

"If I was you, I would stop this horse carriage right now and run for my life…"

It does not take him a second to stop the horse and then he runs into the woods. The other men inside the carriage jump out and before they could aim at me with their guns, I take out my bow and shoot the first one's gun out of his hand and do a swing manoeuver to kick the other in the face. I immediately turn back to the first one with a left uppercut and he falls back unconscious. The words of my wise old trainer egos in my head.

"You do not need strength to defeat someone, you need wisdom and the right moves"

I smile as I duck from the bullet that is meant for me and then I kick the feet out from under the other man. I put two fingers in his neck and he passes out instantly. I do not waste time as I get into the diver's seat. I need to get this gold to the people who really need it. I take the all familiar road and I hope that no one will catch me.

I need to get back to the palace before the ball as my father is on yet another match-made-in-heaven-adventure for me. I am so happy that I was born at the time that the law was passed that the King can not force his daughter to marry whomever he wants me to marry anymore. But then again, this did not stop him to try and match me with who he wanted me to marry. This time he has gathered the rich country's gentlemen and princes around us as he still wants me to marry for the good of the Kingdom.

But he does not know that I know that he only wants the money for himself and not the Kingdom. There are many things that my father does not know about me and this, right now, right here, is one of the things. I finally get to the one house that I always deliver my gold to because I know that she will distribute it fairly among the people. I get off and I am immediately greeted by Gretha.

"You are a sight for sore eyes!"

I hold her by her shoulders and then I say to her, smiling.

"I am always happy to help but I have to go. Can you do this for me?"

"Yes, yes of course!"

She immediately calls her two sons to help with the carriage and they start to dismantle it. They have to leave no sign that this was the stolen horse carriage otherwise they will be prosecuted. Then I say to her before leaving.

"I am going to need one horse but will set it free, not too far from here"

"Yes, please, take what you want and thank you once again. My God bless your soul"

I only smile as I have never really liked people thanking me, although I do appreciate the gesture. I get up on the horse that I think will run the fastest and then disappear into the woods. I look at the moon and I know that I am probably late. I get to my horse that I tied to the tree and then set the horse free. There is nothing as beautiful as seeing something being set free as I feel trapped almost always.

I quickly put on my cap, covering my black tight fit suit, letting my long black hair flow freely. I take off my mask and sit like a lady on the horse. I know that when I enter the palace, they should see a princess and not some vigilante. I let the horse gallop and then enter the doors of the palace. The stableman takes the reins of the horse and then asks.

"Did you have a good night ride with Marlin, your royal highness?"

I smile and get off with the help of his hand and say.

"You should know by now that Marlin and I always have a great ride together"

I pat Marlin on his side and then the stableman takes him away. I start to run into the palace. I know I have to get ready. I see that most of the gentlemen and princes have already arrived and the ball must be in full swing. I know now that my father will be furious with me. I run into my room and I am met by Rita, my lady's maid. She almost looks as furious as I know my father would look.

"Your royal highness, you are late!"

"I know, I know. Please, do not just stand there, help me"

I start to get undressed and then I try to get into the most impossible dress in the world. My father ordered this dress for me from a far far away country and it has more gold on it than any dress I have ever seen. It is almost a puzzle to try and figure it out but I get in, nonetheless. I look in the mirror and Rita is still applying some of my makeup. I find myself thinking.

"This isn't me"

Then there is a loud knock on the door and I know it is my father. I take a deep breath and then turn around, standing upright as a princess should. I see the features that are on my father's face as he walks up to me and I know I am in trouble.

"Why aren't you sitting next to me in the ballroom yet?!"
