3 The Cave

It has already been one day after my supposed reincarnation. Judging by the circumstances it seems I am not welcome here. Being reincarnated as a dragon sure does sound amazing and exciting. I couldn't help but feel a little bit happy, but unfortunately…

I was born with a disease called Ashen tongue. It makes you incapable of breathing fire, and makes you physically weaker. I know my defects and I can't deny the possibility of this curse ruining my dragon life, but I will overcome this tiny boundary. My family seems to despise me because of my defected birthright. I must only rely on myself. I will become the strongest weak dragon.

Mother also gave us names. My name is Scourge. My sisters' names are Asmodeus and Seraphina. My three brothers' names are Pyro, Cyrus, and Archon. Archon is the biggest of us, he is 4 feet tall and 9 feet long from snout to tail. The average size is 3 feet tall and 7 feet long, so he towers over us all. Especially me, for I am a good bit smaller than average.

I'm currently exploring the cavern since I'm quite bored and there is nothing else to do. "Mother" had gone out on a hunt for a while, while my siblings were busy marking their own "territories". So I took it within myself to march further into the cave.

The cave was quite spacious, there would be hardly any noise If it wasn't for my siblings' obnoxious arguing over space. One of the rooms in this cave was very well dug out. It is a rare thing to see smooth walls in a dragon's nest one might assume, but these walls were smoother than my newborn butt!

After I entered the room I saw a long bridge connecting it to another room. with long drops on either side. I walked onto the stone bridge connecting both sides and looked down. There was an endless ocean of gold beneath my smokey paws. This must be my mother's treasury.

"Woah..." I gasped with a fascinated look on my face.

Thoughts of how she had gotten this amount of gold shot through my brain, but none of that mattered. What mattered is the success at which was seen before my eyes.

"What are you doing?" A menacing female voice entered my ears, easily breaking me of my stupor.

"A-Ah. Hey… Mom… Wha-what's up?" I hadn't done anything wrong but I was still scared shitless.

I turned around to see her looking back at me with angered accusing eyes. She brought her head closer to me and showed the drastic difference in our sizes. Her head was bigger

than my entire body.

"Little boy you mustn't wander in here again you hear me?" She said in an angry condescending tone

"Y-yes ma'am!"

"Come here little one, the hunt will begin soon."

The hunt? That sounds oddly dangerous. Hopefully it is like a mini game not a survival game.

My mother then escorted me back to the main room where my sisters were practicing breathing fire. Archon was sitting in the right hand side of the cave sharpening his claws on the floor; whereas Cyrus and Pyro were currently sound asleep on top of eachother with synchronized snoring.

"Listen up everybody!" Mother then exclaimed at a volume so loud it echoed off the cavern walls.

"Today is the day you will be tested. It is a week from the time you hatched. Today I will no longer tend to your needs. You will get food and water for yourselves until you are In your double digits. By that time you will have moved out of the cave. So begins "The Hunt" You will be tested if you are fit to survive to your double digits, then you deserve it. If you die… Then you should have never been born in the first place." She glanced at me as she said the last part of her speech and walked into the backroom that we were not allowed to go in.

Authors note: Hey guys, Satchmaster here! If you couldn't notice this chapter was written in first person. It was also a lot shorter than usual. I will try to get them at 1000+ words only from now on. Leave a comment below saying witch perspective you like the most.
