14 Accident

Adrenaline rushed through my system as everything felt like it was all in slow motion.

'What the--? Where am I?'

I looked down on my hands seeing them tightly wrapped around a stirring wheel.

'What's going on?' I wondered in panic.

Slowly, I realized that I was inside a car—no, I was not just inside it, but I was the one driving the car. In a painstakingly slow like phase, I looked up to see that I was driving towards an exit. Nevertheless, there were gates that were beginning to close slowly.

As if my body was not just my own, I felt my feet step on the ignition and the car roared and sped faster. The adrenaline was deliciously numbing my mind, almost making me want to fall unconscious now. However, I had enough sense to know that this was not the time for me to sleep.

I was behind the wheel for god's sake.

Still without any ideas on what was happening, I faintly heard calls of my name echo in my ears.

My body felt heavy and my mind and heart was raising.

I could not think straight, all I know that my eyes were trained to the closing gates up ahead. I watched as it slowly moved close.

The drive felt long, even though I was aware that I was driving faster than I now I should've. The road seemed like it was stretching farther and farther away from the gates. I felt a bubbling feeling of dread in the pits of my stomach as I watch the gates close almost completely.

Then I hear another set of voices calling for me, but my mind was still fixated on the thoughts and feeling of panic and nervousness that I paid it no mind.

My breath hitched as I saw the gates inching more and more towards each other. Then, everything suddenly felt like it stilled. My eyes widen in confusion as I turned my head on all sides and I saw everything look like time had stopped and everything just stood outside, completely frozen in place.

'What the—'

By instincts, I looked at my left, to see a dark shadow like figure standing still in the distance.

I just realized that the sky was as white as a clean canvas; it was bright but not blinding.

The figure in the distance suddenly began moving further away.

I had the urge to follow it, so I tried if the door would open, to my relief, it did and I pushed it open. I hopped out of the vehicle and ran towards the figure.

"Hey! Hey you! Hey!" I called.

I kept calling for it, trying to get its attention, but it just seemed to ignore my calls and drifted farther away.

I was now a good distance away from the car and yet I still kept chasing after the mysterious figure.

"Hey! Wait up!" I called again.

To my relief it suddenly stopped, but it was still a bit far from me.

I watched as it turned towards me. But I couldn't see what it looked like, for it was against the light and that its front was covered in a thick shade of shadows.

I paused to take a breath, though I breathed heavily, I did not keep my eyes off the slender figure. It felt like once I've taken my eyes off of it, it would disappear in an instant.

"Where--*huff*-- Where are we? Who--*huff*--Who are you?" I asked breathlessly.

I don't know how, but I can sense that she was smiling at me.

I was still crouched down on my knees when it started moving again. My eyes widen in surprise when it suddenly started walking towards me.

I felt a strange thumping in my heart as it strode closer and closer towards me. I wasn't scared or frightened, weird enough, I felt a mix of emotions as I suddenly realize that we were almost face to face.

Even if I wanted to move away, my feet seemed to be glued to the ground.

All I could do was stare up at the figure as it slowly made its way in front of me. My eyes widened in shock I saw its face.

It had NO face at all.

I stood there, stunned. My mouth opened and closed repeatedly, not a word comes out.

I seem to can't find my voice as I stood dumbfounded.

I nearly jumped from my spot when I heard a chuckle come out from it.

The voice was unclear of any gender identity. It sounded like a mix a feminine and masculine voice.

"… Be careful, child," it said in a low voice.

With that said, once I blinked, I was taken back to the speeding car. Everything was in motion again and so was the dire situation.

I frantically wanted the car to stop, but I did not seem to have control of the vehicle and it just continued to speed-off into the distance. I looked to my let again and saw the figure from earlier observing me.

In a flash, my eyes automatically turned to the road.

I could see the gates closing in and I just knew that I had little chance of making it. So I frantically stepped on the breaks over and over, but the car didn't seem to stop or slow-down.

As I see the gates slowly inching closer, I started to panic.

'What should I do?!' I tried to think of an idea on how to stop this thing, but I had nothing.

I looked back up to see that the gates were just meters away from me.

Everything seemed to slow down again; it felt like my life flashed before my eyes. For a brief moment, I saw a flash of white invade my vision and I saw nothing but empty space.

Then a chilling voice suddenly whispered to my ears…

"Levi… Be careful…"

After that, I suddenly felt like I was being enveloped with a warm sensation. It felt like I was being given a warm embrace. But in a blink of an eye, all of that was gone again and there I saw a figure appear in front of my car—

"Watch out!" I screamed.

My grip tight on the stirring wheel and my feet moving in instincts, I took a hard left turn and I stepped on the breaks as hard as I could.

I was surprised that the breaks began to work, but as I did this, I lost control of the car and the car began to tilt. For a brief second, my eyes landed in the figure that was blocking my way, it might have just been me, but I think I saw a smirk displayed on its face.

Before I could even further investigate, I heard a harsh thump and I was suddenly thrown forward. Next thing I knew, I was only able to see black
