33 Hastin walks away without opening the gate

"What was that just now? What did I see?" Hastin shouted from the other side of the gate.

"Open the gate, Quietus. I will tell you everything." Spencer replied calmly.

"No. Never. I will not allow anyone to take over my life once again." Hastin with determination walked away.

Spencer hit the steering wheel hard with his hands. The loud sound of horn woke up Lucas who was lying on the back seat.

"Where am I? What happened?" Lucas asked.

Spencer just glared at him but did not say anything.

"Who are you? Where is Nick?" Lucas asked once again.

"Nick went home. Do you have a home?" Spencer muttered.

"I won't call that a home but I have a place to sleep."

"What is the address?"

Once Lucas gave him the address, Spencer hit the accelerator and the car zoomed away. The car parked in front of an old chattel house which looked almost demolished.

Spencer got down and looked around. The area looked almost deserted and there were no humans in sight.

"What are you looking around for? Do not worry! No one comes here… This place is well hidden from view and it belonged to my grandfather who passed away a long ago. My father had been arrested recently for possessing illegal drugs. It was all because of my mother, who overdosed herself with drugs and died. So right now there is no one other than a few of my friends whom I met in the streets."

"Are they inside now?"

"Maybe. I don't know."

"Go check," Spencer ordered.

"I cannot walk. You can just go and knock on the door four times if they are inside then they will open the door. This is our secret code and no one else knows."

Spencer walked with hurried steps and knocked on the door four times. But his friend looked at the window and started to flee away using the back door. Even after waiting for a long time, no one opened the door. Losing patience, he went around the house and saw a few boys bolting off.

"They ran away. I am going inside to unlock the front door. Do not move a muscle. Just sit here."

Lucas just shook his shoulders and did not say anything. Once Spencer disappeared from his view, he climbed down, and by holding the car, he limped off. He opened the trunk and saw Akemi with her hands and legs tied lying down.

"B**H! Remember how you broke my legs?"

"Mmm...mmmm…" Akemi shook her head as she could not recall anything.

The minute Spencer cut his shoulders to remove the nanobots, Lucas woke up. He waited patiently as he was not sure who that person was or where he was taking him? He did not want to risk his life by letting the guy know he was awake. So he laid down quietly on the back seat without moving a muscle.

When he saw him stop in front of Hastin's mansion, he wondered if he was the boss everyone was talking about. He looked decent and did not have a gangster look. Moreover, he gave off a vibe that only belonged to cops. To test him, he said his father was arrested and his mother overdosed herself to death.

Still, he just stood there like a statue and did not respond much. The code which he said was actually to alert the boys inside that house. As expected they understood the signal and ran away. They were actually waiting around that area to ambush Spencer.

With a smile, he looked at Akemi and asked,

"Do you know what I can do to you now? How dare you break my legs?"

Just when he finished that sentence, a hand gripped his shoulders tightly. Lucas felt like his shoulder bones were about to get dislocated.

"Boss, I was just curious as I heard some noise coming from behind. So I came to check what that noise was!" Lucas changed his expression and turned back.

"I don't care. Signal your 'friends' to come back. If even one of them goes missing then I would twist your neck without a glance." Spencer warned.

Lucas with fear running down his spine whistled. Everyone came back and stood in an attacking stance. Spencer sent a warning glare and Lucas said,

"He is one of us. That was a false warning."

"Let us go in and talk." Spencer lifted Akemi up and walked inside the house.

He dropped her in one corner without mercy. Her body hit the dirty wooden floor and made a 'thud' noise. The wound on her shoulders split open and started to bleed.

He looked at the young boys and picked three of them among them.

"You, you and you… Come with me. Lucas, take care of Akemi until I come back and decide what I should do with her. If you try anything funny or cause her any harm, then remember she broke your legs but I will just chop them off without a second thought. She needs to be safe and sound until I return to fetch her. Do not let her escape. At no time, can you unbind her! Heed my warning, if you value your life!"

Spencer along with the three boys walked away. Until his car's sound became inaudible, Lucas stood there without moving. Then he limped towards Akemi and lifted her face up.

Akemi struggled to move away from his grasp. She shook her head violently to make him understand that she doesn't remember anything. But all her struggled went to vain when he said,

"You really should have not broken my legs. Do you think I am afraid of him, just because he said he would chop my legs off? No! never! I will punch your face until you bleed to death. Bring me a stone."

Lucas asked one of the boys standing near him.

"No! Don't! He had taken a few boys along with him. We cannot let anything happen to them. Also, remember he might even kill all of us or put us in jail." Rando said.

"Who are you kidding? This is our area. He cannot enter this place once again. I signaled those three to finish him off, once he took that turn. Do not worry, nothing will happen!"

At that time, a car horn was heard. They all went near the door and opened it eagerly. They saw two dead bodies in a twisted way lying on the floor while the other boy stood with a bloodied face.

Spencer came out in front of them with a crooked smile from his hiding spot.

"What did I tell you, Lucas? tut-tut... You never listen to anyone...No you left me with no option as you defied my orders, I just have to chop that leg off yours!"

He came with an ax and just swung it in Lucas's direction. It chopped off one of his legs and it flew high in the air, then landed above the dead bodies.

Spencer walked forward with the blood dripping from the ax while everyone around him moved back in horror. One of them even peed on his pants and another fell down with his body shaking in fear, having seizures. They were all petty thieves and ran a small gang around that area.

No one expected that one day they would meet a person who would actually do such a horrible thing. They are all used to street fighting and they have experienced broken bones or some small scratches on their body while fighting. But this is the first time, seeing someone cruel and did things that made them feel fear run down throughout their bodies.

"You said to take care of Akemi, I did as you have asked. She is safe and I did not even take any revenge on her for breaking my legs. So why? why did you do that?" Lucas asked while screaming in pain.

Everyone around him knows by now that he is no ordinary man. They do not want to involve themselves with this issue.

"This is between you both! So you have to resolve this issue among yourself. We are leaving!" Rando said and tried to walk away.

Spencer threw his ax and it fell right in front of him.

"Did I ask you to talk or leave?" Spencer asked while his eyes turned red.

They all held their breaths and stood next to one another holding their hands. They thought this was their escape chance. Even though they were all together, they know when to abandon one and run away for their lives. This was all Lucas's fault and why do they have to suffer. Even though everyone thought that no one had the courage to voice it out.

Spencer turned towards Lucas with bloodshot eyes and asked,

"Didn't you asked me why? Do you want to know the reason? Akemi was always a soft-hearted girl, so she let you live. But what she should have actually done is kill you then and there when you poked her. My software really had a defect, I understand that now. But since I am here, I won't let it defect continue! I will rectify the error and will correct each and every mistake that was made before. And that is starting with you! You must feel lucky to be the first person who will be the start of this evolution."

Spencer pointed at Rando and signaled him to bring the ax to him. Rando tried to pull it but it was stuck too hard on the wooden floor. So, a kid standing next to him helped him pull that out. Once he came near Spencer, he gave the ax to him. But Spencer did not take it, instead, he said,

"Chop his head off!"

Rando stood there stumped. He could not believe what he heard. He looked at Spencer and then at the weapon in his hand.
