Jackson was taken to a very remote area where he did not see anyone around for almost miles. The car drove on a deserted land with tumbleweeds floating around. Suddenly out of nowhere, a crow flew directly at the windshield.
Gary without any mercy used the wiper to drive it away. The crow fell down and Jackson felt like the tire rolled over it. But when he turned his head and looked the crow stood on the road with burning eyes staring at him intensely.
"It is not unusual to see lots of crows here… This is their feeding place, as once the humans lose their life after continuous torture given by us, they would all be dumped on this deserted area. There are vultures too who wound first devour the dead human. Then the remains left behind will be eaten by crows. Do not worry, I did not bring you here to torture you. We are just following orders, I hope you will understand."
Jackson turned his head away and kept quiet. When Gary reached the hidden place, he knocked on the door thrice. It was located in a man-made underground cave. When the door opened automatically, he pushed Jackson inside.
"This will be your home from now on. Don't even think about running away, as either you would die of thirst or eaten alive by those scavenging birds freely flying around." Gary warned and locked him into a prison cell.
He casually threw the keys into his pocket and walked away.
When Carson reached Hastin's mansion, it was already the next day. He drove continuously without any break other than filling the gas tank on his way. His body was extremely tired but his brain gave him continuous order to go on with his journey as this is a priority mission.
Akemi waited near the gate and let him enter. She hopped into his car and said,
"Welcome to Hastin's mansion. We were expecting you! Did you bring food? Where is it?"
"What food? I did not buy food on the way here. The app did not instruct me to buy any, am I supposed to get food?" Carson asked.
"No! Where is David's body?" Akemi asked.
"In the trunk…"
"Good then drive the car towards the dark forest…" Akemi ordered.
When the car reached the dark forest and Harson opened the trunk, they heard a low grunt. David was actually not dead yet. He climbed down slowly and started to crawl away. Carson, who noticed that ran forward and held him down. Akemi looked at Carson and warned,
"You are in big trouble, Carson. Did you bring him here alive? If he had alerted anyone, then the App wouldn't be happy to know that."
She pulled David along with Carson but noticed the book stick out from this back.
"Why is this book with you?" Akemi asked with flashing eyes.
"It was with Jackson and I brought it with me as I thought…"
"No one cares about what you think, Carson… You are dead today…" Akemi kicked Carson away and pulled David into the dark forest alone.
Carson flew and fell down after his back hit the tree behind him. The tree had a split in between and shook vigorously.
Within a split second, Troodon jumped in front of the body and pulled it deep into the dark forest. David shouted in horror and screamed,
"Save me! Save me! No! No! Carson! You are a traitor. You can never escape… I already sent emergen…." Before he could complete his sentence, Trooden inserted its vicious poison into his body.
David's body first became paralyzed and then lost its life in a few minutes. Akemi then picked Carson and pulled him towards the basement. He made him kneel in front of the server. A message popped up in front of his eyes,
'You will see only from one eye from now on! This is the punishment for not following my orders and acting as you wish'
Before he could realize what happened, his eyes started to bleed and he rolled on the floor holding his face.
"It hurts! Akemi, please ask the App to stop. I have done everything the app asked me to… I did not know he was alive if I had known I would have definitely killed him before bringing him here… Please! Please stop…"
He wailed for a few seconds and before he knew, his body couldn't take any more strain and he lost consciousness immediately. The Tumbu fly which entered his eyes before in the prison came out of the hole which was created by the fly a few seconds ago. One of his eyes has become hollow and it looked horrible.
Akemi's senses warned that something was not quite right and this is not normal. But her brain warned her to not react as she would face the same consequences if she tried to defend him.
'Akemi, why did you not inform me that David was alive? The punishment he received was for getting the book along with him instead of giving it back to Jackson. Now you might need to make another trip to the deserted land to… Wait, it's not required… I have prepared a gift for him. You can leave now.'
"Ok!" Akemi tried to lift the fainted Carson to bring him along with her.
She thought of getting his wound treated before it became a life threat.
A message popped up in front of her eyes,
'Are you trying to defy my order now, Akemi? Do you want to lose both your eyes?'
Akemi saw a group of Spitting Thicktail Black Scorpion march towards her. She slowly backed away in fear.
'Last warning: Leave now or die here'
Akemi turned and ran without looking back in fear that she did not want to end up like Carson. For just a slight mistake, if the App can punish Carson by digging his eyes out then she needs to be extra careful from now on. She did not want to lose any of her organs, especially she wants to live and not die.
When she almost reached upstairs, she looked at the basement. The scorpions lifted up Carson's body and slowly his leg disappeared from her view.
"Now do you understand how cruel, the App is? Do you really want to escape from here?" Hastin whispered near her ears.
Akemi lifted him up in the air and smashed him down on the floor. Hastin's face hit the floor and blood oozed out from his nose. She twisted his hand behind the back and said,
"If you try to act smart once again, I would really break your legs for sure this time. I don't have any patience left and I don't think the App will mind if you become cripple. As all you need is your hands to write, so careful before you make any stupid suggestions. I already warned you I am not like before. I can really do some damaging stuff which you could have not even imagined in your life, Hastin!"
"You called me Hastin! You actually called me Hastin" Hastin smiled while wiping his blood away.
"So? Isn't that your name?" Akemi left him and walked towards the kitchen.
"Normally, until now except you, everyone called me Quietus. Only you used to call me Hastin and even now you called me Hastin. You will definitely understand one day that the app is not a good one here and will help me escape from this hell. I believe in you."
"I don't know if you will escape from hell but I can assure you one more thing, if you don't write your chapters now, then I will make sure to show you what Hell is right now! Why don't we give it a try?" Akemi made a fist and rubbed it on her other hand.
Hastin just ran around her and climbed the stairs in three to avoid being a punching bag. The next five whom the App selected were just high school students. He couldn't save the first five, so he decided that he would definitely try to save these kids from the App's cruel hands.
