29 The truth 1

The weapons Kan had handed to his offspring and that of his brothers weren't just any weapon. The four swords of power were ancient weapons known to be the weapons of the gods.

Beings high above mortals were the ones that once wielded these swords. But somehow, Kan had returned with not just one of them but all four.

The Excalibur, the weapon of an ancient king handed to him by the gods. Kan had gifted this weapon to his son of the twins his wife, Martha had given birth to. Kilga who was Kan's son wielded this weapon of great power.

A long sword that had two dragons intertwined at the hilt and a red diamond placed on the hilt. The Excalibur gave off a light blue glow in its dormant state and when in its active state, this weapon gave off a dark blue smoke. The Excalibur possessed a unique trait of ice magic. It had a great affinity for the ice element.

Silvia, Kan's daughter was bestowed upon the Clarent. A weapon of similar length to the Excalibur. The Clarent was a weapon formed out of the cooling of molten lava. It released black and red smoke in its active state. Contrary to the Excalibur, the Clarent was a weapon that had a great affinity for fire.

Durendal was the sword handed to Tan's daughter. Durendal was the sword of earth. It possessed great durability and was practically indestructible.

Joyeouse, the last of the four swords. With a rough appearance and a long blade, the Joyeuse was a sword that at first look would be considered blunt. But this weapon's blade was the sharpest of the four. Possessing an affinity for air magic, this weapon had great power and was in the hands of Lan's daughter, Ayar.

With these weapons, Kan was confident that their offspring stood a chance of survival even when they were gone in the oasis.

But Kan and his brothers were quick to judge. Their offsprings truthfully at a certain stage were vulnerable humans. But as time went by, these children of theirs began to show traits. Traits that blurred the line separating their humanity from the supernatural.

When these changes became more prominent, instead of Kan and his brothers together with their wives to rejoice, it became a sore in their throats.

A new problem now arose. One born out of deceit, anger and jealousy. For Kan was the first to notice. His twins were manifesting supernatural traits. Supernatural traits that had nothing to do with being a dragon. But plenty to do with other kinds of supernaturals.

Silvia and Kilga who were Kan's twins began to manifest strange traits. At first, Kan hadn't taken into account the pale white skin colour his twins possessed. This was not until a tragic incident occurred where the twins attacked their mother, Martha and drank from her split blood. A dark day in the oasis for this family. Strangely and unbelievable, a dragon begat two vampires. Surely there was an underlying cause.

Kan was no fool. He knew straight away who to point fingers at and he didn't hold back in his tongue-lashing either.

Because each of the brothers had a wife, they had taken sections of the large castle for themselves. A private life even as a family was necessary.

Martha after being belated by Kan was forced to confess. During his absence from the first oasis when they all thought he had gone missing and wasn't to return, she had gotten closer to his brothers, especially the younger of them all, Lan. While he eventually returned and got back with her, her ill relationship with Lan did not seize. And at the end, the fruit of that relationship would turn out to be the twins, Kilga and Silvia.

Now on discovering the truth, Kan had chased his wife, Martha, away from himself. As for kilga and Silvia who were allegedly not his seeds, Kan drove them to the one person he knew to be their father. The only vampire he knew was Lan, his youngest brother.

Lan had surprisingly accepted the children as his own. Although words were never spoken of how it had come to be. But Kan didn't need any further explanation other than the one he got from Martha.

Kan was livid to the point he accidentally began to transform into his dragon form right in the castle they lived in.

His transformation caused massive wreckage due to his enormous size and threatened to bring down the walls of the castle.

Feeling unsafe, Tan along with Lan and their wives decided it was best to move out. Although now the truth was out that Lan was a vampire, his wife, Lilith, stayed with him nonetheless.

Kan watched as they abandoned him in his castle. But he regretted this. They were the only family he had. Kan decided to go in search of them after days of staying alone in the castle.

Kan searched the entire oasis but there was no sign of them around. Kan finally figured out they weren't in the oasis again. They had crossed the larva border that he made by scorching the earth with his fire breath.

Kan knew of only one place they could be. He traced them back to the first oasis with hopes of finding them. But he never did. Kan didn't lose hope. Being a dragon meant it took a long time before he tired out. Kan flew day and night across the lands in search of his family. Sometimes causing chaos upon being sighted by humans. But with his sheer size, anyone that saw him bent to their knees and prayed he wasn't out for them. Before long, news of a great beast flying across the lands had spread. But Kan was no longer concerned about keeping his existence a secret.

After a long period of search, Kan eventually found his family settled in a valley. Lush vegetation and high mountains surrounded this place. Kan on nearing the area could sense the presence of his brothers already. No, It wasn't just that. Kan could sense the presence of multiple supernaturals.

Tan and Lan in such short amount of time had already multiplied their kinds. Vampires and werewolves coexisting in plain sight. Kan was overwhelmed with mixed feelings, particularly disgust and rage.

He knew only one thing could come out of the course his brothers had decided to take and was determined to put a stop to it. For there to be so many vampire auras within the vicinity, meant they were all a community. And as such, Kan knew they all had one need, human blood. They needed to be fed to have grown to this extent. And what that meant was that humans were dying. It was a shame to him that this had happened and he blamed himself. After all, he was the one who made his brothers the monsters they now were. He would have understood if his brothers did it to keep themselves alive but making more of their kind was unacceptable to him considering their feeding habits.

Kan was in search of a place to land. His massive size caused land rifts whenever he landed. But unknown to Kan, just as he had sensed the presence of multiple supernaturals within the vicinity, they too had sensed him. And not just that, they weren't welcoming him.

Kan saw werewolves and vampires all rush towards his direction as he landed. Kan knew what they were all coming for and wasn't excited about indulging them either. But Kan knew that when it came down to a tussle, he would have to defend himself because vampires and werewolves from what he had seen that his brothers were capable of, certainly weren't to be trifled with.

But even at that, with all the numbers approaching him, It didn't matter because they weren't powerful enough to hurt him. Not unless there was something else on ground that could match him. Something remotely close to the raw power he possessed. Perhaps, another one of his kind. Perhaps a dragon.
