63 Chapter 62

[The System has become hostile to you and has decided to eliminate you.]

Streaming of notifications came up in Zuyuan's mind right after the armor appeared. Before Zuyuan could realize the change or the information from the system, another excruciating pain filled his entire being.

"Aaargh!" 

Right after he had the previous pain disappear from his body, another power tried to kill him again as it came from within. However, the surge of energy filled with life and nature was keeping Zuyuan's soul intact from the System's influence that tried to rip it apart.

~"Hoho, someone's in trouble, eh?"~ 

The woman's voice who had taken Zuyuan into the World tree had appeared inside his head once more. Trying to reply between the tide of pain, Zuyuan shouted in his mind with rage and murderous thoughts evident in his words, "You! Is this what you're doing!? Stop it at this instant!" 

~"My, my. It's not me, you know. In fact, it's because of me that your soul hasn't been erased completely yet."~

Shortly, a swarm of fireflies emerged from thin air as they started to cluster together into the shape of a humanoid being. 

~"Let me help you."~

"Tsk." 

Waving his sleeve, all of the flames that surrounded his boys began to dispersed to the air as if they were smoke. Looking around, Ryuhei saw the aftermath of the large scale magic circle his dragon had used. Staring at the charred ground where he stood, Ryuhei commented nonchalantly, "Huh, that guy. He's full out with all of his spells. Doesn't he know that I will get swept up as well if he does this in a flashy way?" 

"You were unscathed though." 

The fairy lord showed up right behind the clouds of smokes while it gazed at Ryuhei in a hostile manner. Even though it wasn't noticeable at first sight because it was only made of water, the shimmering pair of orbs on its head that served as eyes has been shining more brightly than before. 

"So are you." Said Ryuhei as he looked back at the fairy lord in annoyance, "Could you please just die already?" 

Readying his sword once more, Ryuhei was about to unleash a spell that wouldn't lose out in power and grandeur to the grand magic spell the dragon had utilized. However, right at this moment, an aura unlike anything he had seen so far in his punishment period had descended to the World tree. 

Every long and big branch on the World tree's trunk that easily could be mistaken as trees themselves had moved their body towards a certain direction with joy. Chirps of the many lifeforms as well as the boost of energy in every creature in the World tree had made everyone present surprised. However, it was a pleasant surprise, including even the fairy lord that has been battling against Ryuhei for a while. 

"Your excellency?" The fairy lord muttered, with a voice full of shock.

~"Fufufu."~ 

Letting out a soft laugh, the green light humanoid with the shape of a female human began to move both of her hands right in front of Zuyuan. Some kind of cocoon had assembled itself as it was made of green particles of light. It started wrapping around Zuyuan's body while the humanoid female shone more lights from both of her palms. 

"You are…" 

On the humanoid's back was the black skeletal dragon who stared at the emergence of the unknown being which came out of nowhere. Giving the black dragon a side glance, the humanoid being spoke through her mind as she established a temporary telepathic link with the dragon. 

~"I thank thee for thy help, oh the undying ancient. However, I will have to take care of this child. For now, begone."~

On the next instant, the dragon's bones crumbled into dust with just mere thought of the humanoid being. Ignoring the heavy atmosphere caused by her presence alone, the being continued with what she was doing while she hummed softly.

Unfortunately, the inside of Zuyuan's mind was not so peaceful. Just like before, something had tried to invade his own existence and threatened to tear it apart. However, if the System's influences had been the one to protect what he had of him previously, this time it was the exact power that wanted to eradicate Zuyuan without mercy as it tried to keep destroying him from the inside. 

In the light of this event, the cocoon and the humanoid being's influence was what had kept Zuyuan away from getting harmed from the System's power. As the cocoon held onto Zuyuan's consciousness while it kept healing Zuyuan's soul, the humanoid being was in the middle of trying to fix the problem. 

~"There you go!"~ 

Right after her words had ended, another stream of notifications showed up in Zuyuan's mind. However, this time they had contained another verdict that was much different from what it had been doing so far. 

[Detected an anomaly... Sending a request for the main system…]
