58 Chapter 57

Each enemy it had slayed, the faster and stronger it became. Curling up the corner of his lips, Ryuhei stared at the creature and contemplated. 

'Shall I kill this pest before it grows too big?' 

Ryuhei didn't know where this creature came from, but one thing is for sure, he wouldn't like to make another error or have unknown variables around. 

'Best to nip it in the bud.' 

Frowning in annoyance as his time for a break was disrupted, Ryuhei pulled out his sword from the sheath and was about to head back to the battlefield. 

'Hmm?' 

A surge of powerful magical energy emerged in the air as a humanoid being made of water had risen up from the ground. The humanoid water became higher and bigger as it moved like a tsunami amongst the undead legion. Every physical attack had no effect, while most of the fire based spells were nullified each time they were about to land to the being's body. 

'What's this? Has one of the fairy lords descended?' 

Grinning in excitement, Ryuhei knew for sure that his contribution from killing that thing would decrease the time's period of his punishment. 

Dark aura spread all over his body, half his face became rotten as the emerald ember in his left eye shone brighter. Cackling a laugh, Ryuhei's blade began to be enveloped by black flames as he dashed towards the front line. 

'You are my prey!'

*BOOM!* 

Avoiding another barrage of fireballs, Zuyuan traversed the undead soldiers' line as he swung his sword right on their neck. Unlike what his new allies, the spriggans, had gone through to destroy the undead by smashing their skulls, all Zuyuan did was to slash apart any resistance in front of him and any undead wouldn't get up anymore. 

'Incredible.' 

Shifting his posture midway, Zuyuan jumped so high while he threw his blade right on the head of a skeleton magician who was in the middle of chanting a spell. Stretching out his hand open, the blade suddenly reappeared in his hand as Zuyuan spun his body in the air and slayed three more skeletons below him. 

'This blade.. It cuts through everything. No matter if it is a spell or even the soul itself.' 

Utilizing his ultimate speed, Zuyuan arrived at the section where the fairies tried to block off the advancement of the abominations on the right wing of their army. Swinging his blade, Zuyuan gripped the handle with both hands as he titled the center of his body downwards, Zuyuan cut open five abominations' guts in a slash as his legs didn't stop running. 

Skidding to a halt, Zuyuan raised his whole body upwards like a squat jump and took a posture to swing down his blade right on another the abomination's head with all of the might in his arms. Slicing the abomination cleanly into two at the moment the tip of his blade reached the ground. 

'Not only that.. Those souls.. Everytime I eradicate those creatures' souls to smithereens, the more the unknown power inside my body begins to nurture my physique, making me stronger.' 

"Did you enjoy yourself, messenger?" 

Ten meters away from Zuyuan was a humanoid being made of water. But compared to its original version which was wreaking havoc right amidst the abominations and undead ranks, this being was much smaller, with only a stature of 6'2 feet tall. 

"What kind of question is that? Do you think I'm a battle maniac that likes all this destruction?" Retorted Zuyuan loudly to this 'guide' that the woman in his head before had talked about. 

"Is that not so? Then, why did your lips curl up in a grin each time you cut down your enemy and become stronger?" Asked the being nonchalantly 

Putting his hand on his mouth, Zuyuan had realized that his lips were grinning widely. Trying to calm his breathing, his smile suddenly vanished without a trace as Zuyuan came back on the battlefield with an emotionless expression. 

Glancing on his side, Zuyuan inquiried a question which had bugged his mind while he dodged another incoming blow of an enemy, "Who's she?" 

Wiggling its body, the being turned its face, or at least something that Zuyuan thought of as its face, and asked back in curiosity, "You didn't know of her excellency herself? How did you end up coming here if you didn't know?" 

"I was kidnapped." Replied Zuyuan with a shrug. 

"Insolence! Her excellency would never-" 

Before it could finish its words, something had flew right on its main body and emitting an unbearable powerful heat. 

Shifting its attention to its main body, it saw Ryuhei who had clashed at the gigantic water being that had transformed its right hand into an ice blade. 

Wiggling its body again, the being started to dash onto its main body and tried to combine itself to its main body. However, its path had been barricaded by dozens upon dozens of abominations that were stacking together in front of it. 

"Hey, y'all. Step aside will ya?" 

Shortly, Zuyuan proceeded to arrive right next to the humanoid being and swung his long, energy blade, eradicating the abominations in front of both of them. 

Seeing the path that was temporarily cleared out of enemies, it said a quick thank you and began to charge at the direction where its main body was fighting against Ryuhei. 

"Heh. You owe me one." Muttered Zuyuan while he moved in a zigzag way while he parried a stream of assaults that came from his surroundings. 

Soon, after Zuyuan had parried a blow and launched a counter attack, something had caught his attention as it was in the corner of his vision. 

"What!?" 

Swiftly moving his gaze at the direction where he had seen it, Zuyuan widened his eyes in surprise as he mumbled. 

"Isn't that... "
