1 The House

"enter at your own risk," the sign outside had said. Despite the sign and the old falling down exterior of the house, on the inside it was actually holding up quite nicely. Robert had come here after school for the past few weeks. To him, the musty smell, the woods all around, and being away from all the people was the perfect way to de-stress after a long tiring day. He set his backpack down by the door, and went to lay down on the musty sofa. Whoever owned this house previously was very rich, or at least you could assume so from the lavish furnishing of the house.

Despite the lavish furniture something seemed off in the gohst house today. Robert decided to explore hoping to find some awnsers to the weird feeling about the house. The house was relatively big with 3 floors (not including basement) and a courtyard in the center of the house. Infact it was a mansion, especially compared to the town houses surrounding the old lot.

Robert heaved himself off the couch. He walked over to get a flashlight from his backpack. Although he had been coming to the house for a while he had only ever been in the front few rooms. The reason for this was, he was scared if the dark. As he walked up the large curving staircase of the abandoned mansion he started to get nervous. He was happy for an excuse to turn back when he got a call from his mother. "I will come back tommorow" he decided, "and with some backup."

He arrived home just as it became dark. Running through the street in fear as shadows turned into monsters. [Thump thump thump] his heavy feet hit the ground faster and faster as he ran through the streets. All the houses looked the same.but he knew where he was going, he had lived here long enough. [Scratch] he heard a loud noise. He looked over in the direction of a trash can across the street. This was seemingly the source of the sound.

He jumped back, causing him to bump into a car parked behind him. He finally reached his street. His feet went faster and faster, hitting the ground heel first as he made the home sprint. He was running up the stairs when, [wham] he hit the ground. As his chin slid across the step his skin was peeled back leaving many cuts on his chin. Robert picked himself up wiping the most likely infected cuts, blood oozing out. He rang the doorbell waiting for his mom to awnser.

Robert was an only child, living with only his mom. His dad had left when he was only a baby, and as much as he would die to meet him he had heard that he was a terrible person from his mom.

His mom awnsered the door, he could smell the wonderful aroma of the freshly cooked food in the kitchen. "What happened to your face?" Roberts mom asked.

"Uhh... I fell while running."

"Well let's get you fixed up before dinner."

Robert sighed as he and his mom walked over to the bathroom. He washed off the cut, it looked pretty bad. Next he poured hydrogen peroxide on a paper towel, dabbing it on his chin. "Ow!" He yelled as the hydrogen peroxide began to fiz bubbling up and cleaning up the cut. He put a bandaid on and walked out to see what was for dinner. "Mmm lasagnia" he guessed as the smell got stronger.
