7 Chapter Seven: Regrets

Everyone was astonished upon seeing a dark elf, showing honor to their great King; asking for help.

Miya stood in front,---aiming her bow and arrow at the currently defenseless elf. "What do you mean you need our help?!"

Karina faced the moonlight archer---she feel on her knees; begged and pleaded. "Great king Estes, I humbly ask for your assistance. I admit, I was once a victim of deceitful teachings and right now, I've awaken from that false slumber and realized everything was bogus from the beginning."

"Hello my friend." Estes walks towards the helpless dark elf. "How may I help you?"

The dark elf assassin faced the Moon Elf King in agony. "There are wonderful things in this world, worthy of our protection." she said as her tears are flowing from her eyes. "It's my sister." she added.

"Come, lets talk under the tree of life. We can talk sincerely there."

Miya interrupted the king's invitation. "But king, do you really trust her? She's an assassin, she might be a spy plotting on eliminating you."

Estes pat her shoulder, trying to relief her doubts. "Do not worry, the holy light will guide me. It is my judgment that I can trust her words."

The archer has no choice but to obey the king's command. "But to be secure, we'll join your convention."

"Very well."

Estes and Karina went under the tree of life asking for what's wrong. Together with them are Miya, Alucard and Granger who just got healed from his injuries.

"We were once a follower of the great Moon Elf king until our clan was seduced by darkness, following their teachings---due to the fact that the power granted to its believers is great. However, in return, a young elf must be sacrificed to the Abyss Dominator which rules the Dark Abyss as of today. That is for him to be stronger---by that, he can grant more followers a massive amount of power. Since then, our ancestors were trying to convince the moon elves about the teachings given to us and thus after your people refused, we have no choice but to convince you by force. I grew up thinking our way was in fact right. However, as days go by, I'm starting to doubt our teachings if this is indeed the right way. Is following the Abyss Dominator the right thing? I still don't know up to this point."

"Go on." asked the Moon Elf king politely.

"At first, it was okay for me. Seeing other elves being sacrificed every year, despite having the feeling of pressure. Both I and my sister are growing up. And because of that, a possibility might come to reality that one of us will be sacrificed to the Dominator. Thus, my most awaited moment has arrived. My sister, Selena has been chosen by our elders to be sacrificed this midnight. Stopping it, alone, is impossible. Despite losing my dignity, asking for your help is the best choice I can think for this scenario. I may not be worthy of your time, however, I beg your mercy." Karina's eyes were filled with sadness and desperation.

Miya interuppted the talk. "In the past months, you were tasked to slay our men. This could be a trap to lure us in a great danger and may cost our kingdom's men. Do you really think we will help you?"

Karina remained silent.

Estes saw what's inside the young dark elf's heart. "This midnight, we will secure your sister."

Karina's eyes was suddenly filled with slight enthusiast. She knows to herself she's not worthy but hearing the king's words gave her the strength. "I will vow myself to protect your land even against my people."

"Hey, not bad." Alucard who is standing on the sidelines shared his compliments.

The moon archer who is still in question about the king's decision asked, "But king, isn't it a lethal task for us to get involved?"

"Don't worry my child, the holy light will grant us victory." Estes replied.

Granger who also present during the meeting shared his questions. "During the past sacrifices, are there any other high ranking demons present on the area?"

Karina faced the young demon hunter. "As far as I can remember, there are several of them. The Apocalypse Queen, the demon who carries the large spear of destruction, the scorpion demon, and the shadow bringer. They serves as guards in order to make any sacrifices successful."

"Among all that's mentioned, I've only met the two demons---Alice the apocalypse queen and Helcurt the shadow bringer. However, there's something between that one demon that bothers me." Granger is brimming with curiosity.

Alucard was implicated by Granger's interest. "Who could that be?"

"The scorpion king. It seems that I met him even tho I haven't." he looked at the dark elf asking his appearance. "Can you describe him?"

Karina, tried to recall her memories. "Obviously, he looks like a scorpion, however, I am unsure about it. It seems that, there's something in his appearance I am doubtful of. I can feel that there's more to it."

"I see. Let's see what I can do during the raid."

The moonlight archer is a bit surprised. "You're planning to joining our midnight raid, aren't you?"

"Since the shadow bringer is present, I'll never miss this chance to face and eliminate my parents' assailant the second time." his voice is dull yet sincere.

"Alright then, let's show them the art of killing." Alucard grinned as he carries his sword being pumped up of the upcoming brawl.

The evening finally made its appearance, Granger, Alucard, Karina and the elite forces of the Dawn Zenith led by Estes and Miya themselves made their way to the southern forest in order to retrieve the young dark elf Selena who is about to be sacrificed on the sacrificial pit.

As the night grows deeper, everyone is astonished upon seeing the Moniyan Empire's forces, carrying their torches---Charging towards their direction.

"FOR HONOR!" Tigreal howls their battle cry!

Unaware of the fact that the Moon Elves and the Moniyans aren't really considered as allies, Granger is filled with confusion.

Alucard noticed this, and thus warns Granger to prepare. "We have to avoid unnecessary combat!"

The young demon hunter rushed towards the charging humans trying to convince them to stop. He stood up above a large boulder and took his violin out.

He played a lousy symphony which makes him identifiable to the Moniyans.

"IT'S THE VAGRANT POET!"

Tigreal who recognized him, signaled his men to halt their charge. He stepped forward to satisfy his doubts. "Granger, what are you doing here? What are your business with the night elves?!"

Granger stopped playing, returned his violin to his case. He tries to fix the misunderstandings. "We, together with the moon elves are about to make a raid against the Abyssal Demons. How about you?"

Tigreal puts down his sword. His face is looks serious.

"IT'S MATTHAIUS, HE'S CURRENTLY MISSING!"
