15 TEMPLE

Magic disappeared from today's world. That's what studies say, but Nash had a different story about it. Magic didn't disappear, magic users hid from the chaotic and toxic world that we live in today.

"So you are telling me that there are people with magic in this kind of time?" Ashleah asked, Nash just nodded. Walking home after school, swollen eyes with a heavy heart, they continued to talk about everything.

"Magic will never loose its power nor its mana. Magic users just hid themselves, if I were one of them I would probably do the same." he sighed and shook his head lightly, probably disappointed of what happened to our world.

"Well, you are right tho. Having magic in this kind of world that we live in today, every single one of them will take advantage of you." Ashleah said, she tapped her school shoes and stopped walking.

"Hey? You okay?" Turning his head around, he saw Ashleah with a bright smile on her face and her eyes were glimmering with courage and strength. 'She's always been the Ashleah I've known.'

"I just got a bright idea Nash! Let's try to find a temple of that God!" She was smiling widely, and as for Nash he quickly frowned, furrowing his eyebrows. Giving Ashleah a weird look.

"What do you mean find his temple?" He finally turned his whole body around, facing Ashleah. Inhaling depply, Nash held Ashleah's shoulder and looked directly at her eyes. "Do you even know what you are talking about Ashleah?"

"Yeah. Yes I do—"

"It's dangerous and even impossible to find his temple! People that worships him in this kind of them are at some kind of mountains and such!" He said, even shaking the girl's shoulders lightly.

"Nash, let's just do this okay? Help me! Its literally Saturday tomorrow and we have a lot of free time. Come on! There's nothing wrong with just trying to talk to him!"

Her heart was beating loudly. Thump. Thump. Thump. Eyes were all over the place, tremblings lips continued to talk.

"Fine! but if we fail, let's just go home and give up!" He said turning around, a loud scoff escaped Ashleah's lips as she tried to walk at the same pace with Nash.

"Just give up?! You've been living like hell ever since that day happened Nash! And you just want me to give up?!"

"Yes! I want you to give up. Damn, Ashleah. I did everything, and it wasn't enough to break our curse! It'll never be enough!"

Both of their eyes were looking at each other, panting because they were shouting. Trembling hands covered Ashleah's face as she felt that she can't help Nash.

"I just wanted to help, you've been alone for too long Nash. It must've been like hell for you." Removing her hands, she saw how tears dripped down Nash's angelic face.

His red eyes were holding emotions that she couldn't explain, maybe this topic was a bit too much for him. Hugging him tightly, Nash cried his heart out. Not even caring if someone sees them or what.

The pain he's been trying to hide for all these years, finally. Ashleah remembered him. 150 years of reincarnation, none of them remembered him.

"Take a break for tomorrow." Whispering slowly, calming down a bit, Ashleah handed him tissues, a small smile appeared on her face.

"How about you? You won't go to the temple?" Her eyes wandered around and just gave him a smile before changing the topic.

"Goodbye!" Waving her hands, Ashleah twisted the door knob and as soon as she stepped inside their house her knees fell onto the floor.

She's been acting all tough for today after hearing the sad truth about their past lives. A depressing ending for both of them, but inside her head it was a mess.

She kept on asking 'Why is life unfair?' 'Why does it have to be us?' a small and yet sad smile worked its way across her face and into her eyes.

"Ha! I've got a very big day tomorrow!" She squished her cheeks tightly, creating a red mark on it. She stood up and breathed put heavily. "Let's do this."

Opening up her curtains, the sun was still rising and she chuckled lightly. Today is a big day, Ashleah is going to find that temple and try to talk to the God!

Washing up and now picking for her clothes, Ashleah wore a simple white sweater, with her black ripped jeans and her black boots with it. She tied her hair into a ponytail and wore her black and white cap, and a black mask.

She was all ready to go, getting her small pouch, cellphone and keys. She ran down the stairs and chuckled "Mom and Dad are going home maybe this afternoon?" She asked herself before running outside the door.

Last night, she was searching for places that has temples. And Nash was indeed right, it was almost up on the mountains, and yet it won't stop her!

Ashleah was sure that there may be some temples around their area, she just can't give up this time! "You can't be brave without having any fears." She whispered to herself and lightly tapped her heart that was currently beating rapidly.

In front of the bus station, Ashleah started to ask people if they know some kind of temple for the God of Reincarnation.

"Hello Sir, I just want to ask—"

"Are kids these days this unresponsible?" The man scoffed and crossed his arms before looking away.

"Hi Miss, I just want to ask if you know a temple around the area that worships—"

"I'm sorry, I don't know anything about those kind of temples." The woman said before standing up and walked away from her.

It continued for the 3 hours, Ashleah felt like she had been defeated, shoulder were drooping down low as she walked around.

Her eyes were glancing at every single house and building that she sees, but what made her stop was there was a temple like house at the very end of the road.

A glint of hope showered inside of Ashleah as she quickly ran to the place. Knocking at the door, it opened and was welcomed by a very.. very old woman.

"Hello! Is this a temple for the God of Reincarnation?" Ashleah asked, the old lady's eyes widened and soon enough smiled widely and nodded her head.

"Oh my! Its been ages since we've got a visitor here. Come inside young lady!" The old woman guided Ashleah to a small room and there she saw paintings of a man, and flowers around the room. The old woman lit up the candles and lightly bowed her head.

"Thank you." Ashleah gave her a small nod, the old woman did the same before closing the wooden door and giving Ashleah her privacy.

She looked at the gigantic painting right in front of her and smiled. She was now inside of his temple but she couldn't even speak up to him.

"What do you need, child?" Her eyes widened and almost fell onto the ground when she heard a very low and calm voice around the room.

"A-Are you the God of Reincarnation?!" She shouted, a loud chuckle was heard around the room, wandering her eyes she couldn't see anyone!

"I remember you, Princess Ashleah Izel Reece. Why are you here? Oh my! You finally remembered everything?" His voice sounded like he was being sarcastic that he was surprised.

'Of course he knew that I remember!' Ashleah thought. She crossed her arms and sighed.

"I want to ask for a 2nd chance for our curse. I am very sorry for what we have done—"

"I know that you both are sorry, its still a sin killing the child of God. I was about to tell the high priest about what's happening to him but everything happened so fast."

Ashleah looked and her knees trembled as she slowly sat on the wooden floor of the temple. She felt hopeless.

"Please! Just give us a chance! We won't do the same mistake again!" She cried out, she was looking right in front of the painting.

"Ah.. what a headache! Well then, if you really want to I kind do something about it." He said, Ashleah's eyes glimmered as she waited for him to continue. "I'm giving you your own mission."

"What kind of mission?"

"Of course it will be a surprise! It won't be exciting." He chuckled, Ashleah's eyes widened as something blue and thin as air started circling around her.

"Please do consider this as my apology gift for suddenly bursting when I heard my child had died in the hands of Duke Nash." He said before everything went black.

"Princess! Princess!" I scratched my eyes, 'why are they calling me princess?' I opened it and my eyes widened when I wasn't inside the temple.

"Oh God, where am I?"
