Chapter Two: Marceline Fiadh

Day 27 Month 10 Year 1302 of the Exalted Era

The queen was rather startled by the abrupt exit of the young man who seemed to be angry at the prospect of a life free from worries. The position that she was left in was rather tricky.

Soon enough she heard one of the counselors, Baron Khun, mention what she dreaded most. "Without him the Royal bloodline is as good as lost, and without the bloodline there isn't any need for for the Fidah House to rule anymore" The counselor spoke only the truth she couldn't blame him for this, but his choice of words could've cost him his head on another day.

"We are still to see if he'll agree to a compromise." The queen held on to the last life-line she had. Bullshitting her way out of this was the only option available now. "In order of the continuation of the royal bloodline, I am willing to share power equally with this man, moreover I'm willing to risk wearing a green crown in order for him to have his freedom." This might cost her some of the respect and obedience of her subjects, but at least it would save her neck. For the time being.

" A royal consort that can be outside without the supervision of the regent? This is unheard of!" Earl of the torn city, the same stinky old man who behaved aggressively against Feng Yi protested heavily, Marceline made a mental note that she needed to take extra care against him. He could prove to be very dangerous.

After that small outburst nobody was willing to object to the queen at all. After all, even a dying camel is bigger than a horse. And all of them would be glad to be rid of their competitors so even if politically weak, the queen could still execute one or two of them. After several hours of heated discussions she was able to convince them to preform the summoning one more time.

"Then it's decided, we will be summoning him to renegotiate in 4 hours time, that should be about a 6 months's worth of time in his world since he left.
