1 Chapter 1: The New Era

"The chaotic fall of a king, the rise of the only chosen queen, the morning star of the chosen knight; awakens the new era of the bright Polaris and the sleeping heart of a knight."

Time flies from the chaotic fall and bright rise of the queen then to the next, a new era took charge and blossomed a change that made the kingdom of Camelot kept moving forward. There are no side tracks of U-turns and stayed in the past as the present time of the new generation took a form that led to another lifetime.

'It's my time...'

Yet, the connection of the old souls was still connected and never faded as in one young lady's dreamland. It was a once fun and ecstatic dream of festivals and trials with blossoming attraction to love but it was just the start of random dreams. But whenever the scene kept recurring, a disturbing scene came on rushing that started to disturb her dream and then turned into a nightmare. A kind of nightmare that haunts her even though she has no knowledge of why it was disturbing her night.

'But…I can't…'

The fun and the ecstatic dream turned into a chaotic downfall of a land that almost burned into ashes followed by so many deaths falling down beneath her feet. Blood and massacre were everywhere in the sight. Noises from crying children as they lost their parents on the battlefield and pleading voices of the innocent victims as she kept walking further within her dream. There was also some screaming of a dying citizen around the land which made a sorrowful pain in the heart even though it was just a dream of the young lady.

'You have to. You're the only one who could.'

But throughout that chaotic dream, there's some fun and excitement among them but what really pained her heart was another death wish in one chamber that felt so familiar at the same time so far.

'NO!'

Even if it was just a dream it pained the young lady from hearing the voice of a broken lady in knight clothing. She watched the knight go to the huge window to take a breather. She saw how broken the knight lady was from hearing those words from the lady sitting by the edge of the king's sized bed.

'Come here, my knight. Come to me, Vica.'

The weak voice that echoed in the chamber was so familiar to the dreaming young lady as if it was her in the old century. But what caught her attention more through her dream this time was the broken feeling of the lady knight. The lady knight took a short glance at the weakening lady who was supposed to be the elegant queen but looked ordinary in her nightgown. The lady knight released a defeated sigh and went back to the side of the weakening queen whose smile was still radiant in her eyes.

'Only you could do it as I entrusted my life with my first knight which were you.'

'But I love you…'

They aren't alone as they spoke about their feelings yet no one dared to speak among the knights inside the chamber of the weakening queen. Silence just cloaked the entire chamber from the sudden but broken confession of the lady knight to her queen. Then a bright smile came out from the lips of the queen as her heart filled with joy even tears suddenly fall down from her face.

'Oh, how I longed for you to say them but I never bother to ask…that's a fault of mine.'

'No. Don't say that. It's a choice that I didn't make into a word. Not even the slightest courage as I am your first knight. I don't have a right to feel in love with my queen.'

'Right or wrong meant nothing if love finds you. It'll stay till you couldn't live without it. It gives you a bright glow than you expect in life.'

'It even taught you to have faith in love even though you have already given up. It never left. You still love which leads you to have faith in the feelings toward the person who made you feel them again. And a kind of faith for the Man above the highest heavens.'

'Even Him has His faith in you. You should do the same; have faith in your heart. Just love.'

'But my queen…'

'Vica, remember the feeling when you fell in love with me because I do. That's why I entrusted my life and my love to you. Only you.'

'My queen…'

Feeling the first touch of love that had never been heard or shown between a knight and a queen finally took form. Simple but there's tenderness as the space in between was closing up then one quick touch upon the lips sent millions or more passionate love that last long till forever.

'It's time, my love…'

Then everything came rushing into the dreaming lady as if it wasn't the right time for her to know what it meant. She was immediately being pulled out from her dreamland when the heat began to make her toss and turn over her single but comfortable bed but not this time. There was heat radiating around that made her uneasy as she tried to go back to her sleep but can't. Not any longer as sweat came to be visible which made her realize that it wasn't because there was no air coming out from the air-conditioning anymore but flame. The flame was all over the place which frightened her as soon as she opened her eyes. That's the first thing she didn't want to deal with when she woke up from a meaningful dream.

'Find me, my beloved knight.'

She quickly got up and took her comforter with her and rashly went inside another room where water was available. Inside the bathroom, she quickly opened the faucet from the tub and dropped her comforter there then she moved quickly to the shower area to soak herself there. She didn't mind the water from the tub was already overflowing and got the comforter and wrapped herself in it. But when she turned it wasn't a very good sight, there was no way out anymore because the flame was all over the place already. It was eating everything it touches from the ceiling to the floor which causes some explosions. Every room exploded which includes the bathroom where she was which made her fly out of the burning orphanage that she outgrew.

'Find me.'

A voice came replying to her mind and it was from the last memory that she has from a meaningful dream that she had a while ago.

Even she heard those words everything changed when she felt a heavy impact landing on her back. It cracked some bones followed by another stumble which made her almost roll over the moist ground because of the severe impact of her landing. She faintly looked around as she saw the orphanage that she was visiting every time she has free time as her sign of gratitude was now engulfed by flame. Followed by groaning over the pain all over her body.

From there, she knew something was already broken and bleeding as she couldn't feel entirely her body. She cried quietly as she was slowly fading. She was losing consciousness but she heard some noises nearby. Sirens were wailings, panicked voices for the adults, and crying orphan children but none of them were looking for her. She didn't hear her name being called. She wanted to cry for help but her voice was out. Her body was out and she was losing her consciousness badly.

"Somebody…find me…" her last thought echoed throughout the space of energy but still no one come.

After a few hours, the fire was already died down and nobody could tell what was the cause of the fire that consumed everything in the orphanage. Not even the police or the firefighters could make any statement regarding the matter not until a black SUV came to the scene. Then a group of four people in black clothing came out then immediately approached the authorities in the field.

"Woah, easy there. You can enter here." A young policeman who was holding the crowd asked as soon as he notice the four people passing the yellow strip as if they own the place.

"We're from DIP, we're asking to give some assistance." A cherry and a seductive voice of a lady introduced themselves as they went closer to the officers on the scene.

"Never heard of it." the young policeman answered which no one actually heard their group except their chiefs.

"Ask your superior, he would know." Another voice of a jolly female patted his shoulder as they all passed him.

He was speechless and wanted to go after them but another policeman already made a call to their superior. They were informed that said group will take over they shouldn't interfere, and just hold the crowd. With nothing else to do, they obeyed the order from their superior and let that group help them solve this one.

Meanwhile, as the group of black clothing called DIP took charge of the fire scene, they divided it into four rounds.

"Yui, handled the perimeter of the orphanage." A lady in her black hood with a cracked mask started pointing their task with her cold yet commanding voice.

"Okie dokie." The youngest and jolly among the team named Yui, agreed to her task since she was good at locating something that cause fire though she manipulate water the best.

"Tacker, help the firefighter from locating the root cause." The masked lady appointed he just nods at.

"Hey, can I do that instead?" Yui interject before the lady could speak to the next one.

"Stick to your task." Tacker blocked Yui which made her pout like a child that earns a ruffling upon her head. Tacker might be the only man in their group but he could be serious like a pole when Yui wasn't around him – he's also a short-tempered man which only Yui could tone it down.

As the two started fooling around – teasing each other as if they weren't in any delicate scene, the masked lady and their other teammate just ignored them. They just let them be in their own world till it's time for them to work.

"Irina, gather information from the orphanage, calm them down." She finally stated the last task to the last team member.

"And you?" Irina wondered as she popped the lollipop over her mouth like a real seductress but with her lazy personality. She might be lazy but she knew how to use her seduction whenever it was needed because her seduction lures every hidden secret to whoever she's talking to. She also loves candy.

"I looked over the trace around the woods, there might be something there." The lady in the mask flatly answered which the two fools heard and interject with their teasing voice.

"Seems like somebody is calling you already." Tacker was smirking as he comments that.

"A mate perhaps." Yui was totally excited for the lady in the mask to finally find its match.

"Enough. Just do the job so we could eat early." The lady in the mask reminded them that they were working and still had slightly empty stomachs when they were being sent to work.

"Yes, captain." Everyone answered before proceeding to their assigned tasks.

As they went back to doing their job, the lady in the cracked mask over her right eye, went to the perimeter of the woods next to the orphanage. There were some firemen checking the site but none of them could find anything even a survivor or a corpse. Everything was turned into ashes and she doesn't like what she was seeing since it was reminding her of something she doesn't want to remember. She suppressed those creeping memories that wanted to surface in her mind as she kept looking around the nearby woods beside the burned orphanage. Tracks of the ashes were all over the place until she glances up to the second floor of the burned orphanage where every window was being smashed because of the explosion but there was something she noticed among the broken window not far from where she was standing still.

Saying goodbye

Is never an easy thing

But you never said

That you'd stay forever

"Was that…" she mumbled which made her turn around as she suddenly heard a faint melody coming from the woods. She wasn't sure if she knew the melody but something was telling her that she knew that song. The song was entitled Love Lead You Back by Taylor Dayne and she began following where it was leading her.

So if you must go

Oh, darling I set you free

But I know in time

That we'll be together

As those words hit her ears, something began to make her heartthrob in such anticipation as if she was taken through those times where it pains the most. She could carry all the battle scars but the loss of her heart was very hard to bear yet she has to as she promised to herself to find her.

I won't try

To stop you now from leaving

'Cause in my heart I know

She didn't stop the decision that her late beloved made because she knew in her heart that they will meet again and continue the love that had never been shared. She hoped.

Love will lead you back

Someday I just know that

Love will lead you back to my arms

Where you belong

When those lines echoed through her ears, her heart was throbbing harder than earlier as if she was getting close to something that really matter to her.

I'm sure, sure as stars are shining

One day you will find me again, it won't be long

One of these days our love will lead you back

Kept looking around the broken glass from the certain window and then followed those tracks that lead her exactly to the woods.
