74 Finally Awake!

Eru concentrated all his energy to form the general shape of a sword, but the ball of energy started distorting into spines. The liquidly energy was revolting and dripping off. "Master, it's distorting but not forming a sword. It's only dripping off," he sighed. With his puppy dog eye, she glanced up expectedly at him. "Master~ can you demonstrate again?"

Lumian chuckle and scrabbled his curly blond head. "I can't demonstrate it. Because even I can't harness soul energy."

"but..but…."

"It's the truth, Eru I told you before right. I've only seen you and Deric harness this energy. It's too mystic. I'm teaching you according to the knowledge I've got from that book." Lumian gestured to the black book in Eru's hands. "Furthermore, I think this is a skill that you and only you yourself can develop."

Saying this, Lumian stood up, patted his butt and walked away.

"Master! You can't just leave me like that!"

"Watch me, kid," Lumian chuckled out loud and waved.

Eru gritted his teeth and slumped down. "No one knows how to use this how does he expect me to harness it. Agh, this is so hard," he rolled in the soft grass. The fresh dew drenched his white shirt, making it stick to his skin.

Eru pulled his skirt up and even removed his mask. "Okay, if my uncle says so, I can definitely do it. Then I would be able to do it," he sat crossed leg and started meditating. As before, the fluffy cloud like energy all combined as a ball, but as he was about to shape it, it disintegrated. "sigh,"

Eru laid on the ground with his arms and legs outstretched like a starfish. "Why is it so hard," he slowly closed his eyes, felling the breeze on his face. Just like that, he fell asleep. Last night's was too much for his handle, his growing body to handle.

Just as he was drifting in wonderland, he heard a soft voice echo in his mind. 'mommy...'

It was a voice he was very familiar with. "Fynn!! Are you awake or Am I dreaming?" Eru mumbled softly.

'Mommy…I'm awake…but where am I? it looks like a forest outside the window. 'gasp' master did you get kidnapped and kept as prisoner here. Oh my god, I'm useless I should have woken up long ago,' the voice screeched loudly.

Eru woke up from his just loud scream. He softly caressed his aching head and glanced around. "Fynn, don't panic.."

'How can I not panic mommy? You have been wronged. How can they do this to you?'

"Little Fynn, it's not what you think…"

'I knew it. Mommy is definitely sad and lonely here. Did they even feed you? Oh mommy, how can they not feed you?'

"LET ME TALK YOU LITTLE RASKAL," Eru shouted out loud. The little squeaking voice in his mind paused. "Fynn, I was not kidnapped, nor am I being kept prisoner here. We are presently in the black forests of Miriafa. My uncle has brought me here to train me in soul magic," he said softly.

'Uncle? But you don't have an uncle mommy.'

"Even I didn't know I had an uncle until ten days ago. You got a lot to catch up, little buddy," Eru thought in their mind link cheerfully. "You know I have been waiting for you to wake up for a long while now. That devil said that you are probably evolving, so I let you be. But I was so worried baby,"

'evolve? I don't feel anything…' little Fynn whispered in their mind link.

"Wait for me, I will come to you," Eru swiftly packed up and left the grass clearing. The sun was already down, but he was able to reach their home thanks to a line of illuminating wood lines up on the forest floor. "My master is so meticulous," he whispered happily and hopped over some fallen trees.

Soon the huge black slab came into sight. Without any thought she went around it, keeping a maximum twenty feet between him and the slab. The last time he went near, he felt something…..something out of the world. 'It's better not to risk myself,' he thought, shaking his head.

He rushed into the house. Deric stood in the doorway with a basket of flowers in hand. "oh Eru, you are back. I thought master left you to train…wait… what's wrong?"

He shouted and followed after him.

Eru dashed through the hallway and rushed into his room. The windows were open letting in a fresh breeze, his hair fluttered over his face. He swiftly tied it in a messy bun and looked around. He was not able to spot his spirit pet anywhere.

"Fynn!! Fynny," he shouted. Deric right then entered the room and held onto his shoulders. "What is wrong? Is it your spirit pet?"

"Yes, he is awake at last but I can't find him," Eru whispered frantically.

"I'll help," Deric checked the room completely, but he was not able to find anything. "He is definitely not here. I think he might have jumped out,"

"Hmm, that little trouble maker I told him to stay put," Eru frantically rushed out the house. On the way he met his master who was chopping fire wood. "What's wrong? I thought I told you to practice,"

"Master, Fynn is gone. I don't know where he went."

"Fynn? Who is that?" his master quizzically raised his brow.

"My spirit pet!!"

"Your chipmunk?"

"yes!!! he is gone, master. He is just a baby and he might be wandering around the forest. What if he gets caught in the illusion fog, what if some predator finds him and chews on him? what if…."

"This chipmunk?" Lumian held out his hands. A little rolled up chipmunk softly snored away.

"Yes!!" Eru dashed over to him and carefully took him to his hands. But Fynn woke up and glanced up. He opened his mouth and whispered, "Mommy?"

"Oh, baby! You are awake. Finally awake. Mommy missed you so much," Eru exclaimed n glee bringing the little chipmunk close to his face he showered him with kissed.

"Mommy, you are making me wet," Fynn softly whispered and scratched his slightly fur cutely.

Eru cleared his throat and nodded. "Sorry, I was overexcited," suddenly he felt a piercing glance his way. He turned around and met his mater's unwavering sight. "Master, you know Fynn, right? Fynn this is my master and my uncle Lumian, say hi,"

"Hi grand master," Fynn said in a cute voice.

Lumian watched him curiously. He stepped close and softly caressed his little chin. "His evolution enabled him to speak. That's good, that's good, little one, what other changes do you feel in your body?"

Fynn hesitated. He stepped back a little and glanced up shyly. "I—I don't have any other changes," he whispered.

Eru pouted. "It's okay Fynn, mommy loves you regardless. You are still my cute little boy," he cheerfully said, nuzzling against him.

Lumian laughed out loud. "Little Eru, do you even realize what you are doing? Why are you addressing yourself as mommy? Aren't you his daddy?"

Eru froze in shock. For a moment there, he completely forgot that his identity in this life was that of a man. Since Fynn cheerfully addressed him as mom, he gladly accepted it. But it ended being a grave mistake. "ah…that—that is because I am both father and mother to Fynn. Since he was little he liked to address me as mom, I just let it be," he said with an awkward laughter.

Lumian watched him skeptically. "Really? So you were able to talk with your spirit pet since he was bonded with you?"

"yeah?" Eru whispered awkwardly. He did not know his master was getting to, but it did not look good. 'Did he find out something about me? No, it's not possible. I have been keeping my identity under wraps,'

"hmmm, so your spirit pet can talk from way back then?"

"No, no, he is able to talk only right now back then he used to talk to me though his thoughts," Eru corrected him urgently. Both his master and Deric did not react to this, so he awkwardly continued, "Isn't it natural to talk to your mount through your mind…haha, my Fynn was a little naughty one he has so many thoughts and it's sometimes hard to concentrate on one." He awkwardly laughed.

But his master watched with his eyes slightly wide. "Eru, do you realize that this is not normal..."

"What is?"

"You being able to talk to your mount, it's not natural at all. A usual mount does not have the ability to communicate through thoughts."
