Dino's Pov

the next morning I awoke to the rumblings of a vehicle. They were 5 black SUV's and one long military flat bed truck with a canopy over the top. From the back of the truck soldiers dressed in urban camo came out from the back and from the SUV's came some men wearing suits. One of the men wearing a suit came forward with a megaphone to his mouth. "This orphanage has been given the greatest honor as the Supreme Leader has decided that any child over the age of 8 shall be put through the shadow program. the shadow program is a government funded training program and after 4 years the children will be made the right hand of our Supreme Leader". said the man. I was ecstatic. The Supreme Leader was supposed to be the most kind and generous leader we have ever had. I was more than willing to fight for him. The soldiers started filing in through the front doors herding the children towards the flat bed truck. we were sorted by age those 8 and above were put in the truck and those bellow were lined up against the wall. I quickly made my way to Lyssa and Milli. "Lyssa,Milli isn't this great we are going to work for the Supreme Leader". I said. "I don't know what's going to happen to those kids there". Lyssa replied. "I don't know but I don't care at least we are still going to be together". said Milli looking into my eyes. The line finely started moving and we were getting near the entrance of the truck when the mistress ran out of the orphanage. She had her dress ripped and her face was bruised. "You can't take them I will do anything, they are just children don't make them do this". She pleaded. the man who previously had the megaphone came towards her. "Those who disobey the supreme leader are sentenced to death". he then pulled out his luger style pistol pointed at the mistress head and pulled the trigger. Milli screamed but me and Lyssa just looked on with a shocked expression. The woman who taken care of me for these 12 years had just been liked right in front of me. While I was in a daze the man barked an order to his troops. The soldiers turned to the children lined up against the wall and opened fire. some of less unfortunate children did not die, the air was filled with the sounds of screaming and the smell of gunpowder and blood. The man with the megaphone quickly pushed us into the truck and left us there. "They killed the mistress and all the kids", Milli sobbed,"what's going to happen to us Dino". "I don't know but I don't think this so called Supreme Leader is all he is cracked up to be" I replied. "I'm scared" she said. "it's ok we still are together isn't that right". I said while opening my arms. Milli kept into my embrace and rubbed her head on my chest. 'gross I hope she doesn't get to much snot on my shirt'. Lyssa didn't say anything but held onto my hand staring off into the distance. after about half and hour we could smell something burning. I looked out the of the truck from a small gap in the canopy and could see a pile of bodies being burned. "what's that smell a kid asked. I didn't answer and just looked at the other children. the was about 24 kids of all different genders in the truck. most of Mill's friends were on but I noticed one or two were missing which ment they where out there burning. after a while Milli fell asleep from all her crying and was resting on my chest. I was also tired as today had been notifying and the effect on the smoke on my eyes led me to nod off as well.
