4 What's the Catch

Gates picked the keys of his safehouse from the cabinet.

"You want me to take you home?"

"No, thank you I've already called a taxi."

"Suit yourself."

With scotch in one hand, he was sitting on the porch of his safe house which was at a distance of 15 miles from Bill's home. After an hour he went inside to his room and slept.

The next day he was having coffee and thinking about all the things that had happened recently.

*Knock knock knock* Thomas picked up his gun, hid it behind his back and went to open the door. He wanted the element of surprise so he hid behind the door while opening it.

From the other side, a voice said "Will you come out already?". Thomas was surprised at the familiarity of the voice, when he got out from behind the door his ex-partner was standing there.

Estela King was Gates' former partner, who had left The Agency quite a while ago.

"It's a surprise to see you here Estela" said Gates in a very deep voice.

Estela was just standing there, looking at Gates, after a few seconds she said "I heard about Julia".

"Good for you" replied Thomas, in an irritated tone of voice almost instantly.

There was an awkward silence between those two.

"So what are you doing up here Est ?"

"Just here to meet my partner in crime" replied King with an almost sly smile.

"You know you can't fool me, so what's your real motive in coming here?" said DB in a very enquiring tone

"Fine, I am here to say that I want to help"

"With what exactly?"

"To catch your wife's killer of course."

He sighed heavily and let her in.

From across the road, an old man was watching them while sitting on the bench, when the door closed from behind King the man got up and went on his way.

In the evening Gates received a call from Bill

"What is it, Bill?"

"I might've found something of use, come to my place later tonight."

Gates went alone since, not knowing what they were up against, he didn't wanted to risk Estela's life needlessly.

"What is it Bill?" asked Gates

"From the hidden camera installed on the Bench across from your home I saw a very unusual thing, during the whole burning incident a man was continuously walking to and from around the bench" said Bill in a hushed tone

Intrigued, Gates asked "Who was it?"

"A professor from Panther College of California"

"What's the catch, Bill ?"

"He is from Georgia" said Bill

"Damn" said Gates and ran out of Bill's apartment.

The thing he didn't notice was that an old man was sitting on the stairs.

His look was that a homeless person but as soon as Gates drove off in his car, he got up and drove off in a Ford.
